Small Room, Clean Bathrooms & Hotel, Friendly Staff
from ikoihil
Small rooms, but whats to be expected? We had no views from our room, but were close to the metro underground station. Shopping is in the area, as are several restaurants - French, Deli and Chinese. The hotel is quiet and safe at night since the doors lock, which you access with your room card for entrance. No complaints though... The staff was courteous and helpful when asked.
Nice hotel close to sights
from discusdoc
This is a nice hotel close to many tourist attractions. It is about 200 yards from the St Placide metro station and an easy 45 minute train ride from CDG. The staff was very professional and attentive and the breakfast was very good. I paid only $75 per night for the room through Priceline, which did not include breakfast (18 euro). My only criticism was the the rooms were a bit stuffy. We had to sleep with the window open. It was a good value and I recommend it. I would definetly stay there again.
Perfect in every way
from Onelifeliveit
My friend and I often visit Paris twice a year (Springtime & Autumn). We decided to go to the Holiday Inn one year because there was a special offer on at the time and it was the best decision we ever made and have been coming back twice a year ever since. Location wise, you cannot go wrong. The hotel is across the road from the metro which was great for coming home late and tired. There are loads and loads of restaurants, brasseries, bars etc. Walking around the area captures the true essence of Paris that you would never find in the more touristy areas. There are also some beautiful shops and boutiques within walking distance as well. St Germain is the belly of Paris and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. You can walk to Montparnasse for a huge selection of creperies. Trust me, after trying one you will never look back ! The hotel is faultless. It is 3 star and you get what you pay for. It was always spotlessly clean. Decent sized rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. I have also stayed at the hotel in Republique, which I will confess was more plusher, especially the lobby but you are far away from anything significant. Nothing is more romantic than walking home after a beautiful meal and you can't do that around Republique because there isn't a great deal to the area. Stay in St Germain, you won't be dissappointed.
We loved Paris & the hotel is great!

We were at the Holiday Inn Paris-St. Germain Des Pres Feb 13-19,2006. The Hotel is very close to the metro. We were very happy with the room we had. We were on the 1st floor (which is really the 2nd floor) and we had a room facing the front of the hotel. The room was not as small as we were expecting but we saw that some of the rooms on the corners were alot smaller. The front desk people were very nice! They all helped us as much as they can. They would recommend places to eat & there recommendations were very good. Hopefully we will go back to Paris someday & we would go back to this hotel!
Great hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
We traveled to Paris for our first time and stayed at the Holiday Inn. We read alot of reviews on line and decided to give the location a try. We loved it. Very clean and in a great location with three metro stops nearby which we rarely used because we walked and walked and walked. Great location to get nearly anywheere on foot. Late night Dinners in St. Germain and the Latin Quarter followed by great strolls back to the Hotel. We were somewhat apprehensive because while we have traveled alot we try not to stay in "chain" hotels. However this hotel was great would highly recommend it for travelers looking for clean comfort in great location. Thanks for the reviews we read about alot of hotels and your comments helped. I hope ours will too.
Beautiful & Refreshing

We stay for a lovely weekend in Paris. We choose this hotel because of its room rates and his place in town. It is very easy to reach by train or metro. It is in a quiet neighbourhood. We had excellent nice rooms at the roof floor. try to get get one of these. In summer you have a fantasitc view over Paris. The stuff was very very very friendly. The only minus that it was quite difficult to get the front desk team to make a recommendation for diner for us, because very one of the teams had different spots to go.
Definitely a great place ot stay!
from tinkin3
We booked this hotel through Priceline, and now understand why everyone raves about this place. First, location, location, location. It is literally steps from the Metro and there are many great shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Second, the rooms are really nice, especially when compared with other European hotels I've stayed in. The rooms were clean, quiet and had everything we needed. Third, the staff at this hotel is exceptional. We were given great advice about where to eat, where to drink, etc. While I would caution about ordering the breakfast, you can get a great breakfast at any number of cafes or patissieries nearby for much less. However, you can order coffee, orange juice and a croissant delivered to your room for only 4 Euros!! I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.
Good value for price -- bid $82 through pl

Deserving of the 3* rating. Parking cost a further €14 per night, but there WAS parking in the underground garage. And parking in this part of Paris is extremely scarce. Excellent location, and we didn't need the car during our stay. Just off the rue de Rennes -- great for shopping fiends, like my wife! One minute from the Metro, hence all Paris at our feet. A short walk from the Latin Quarter and St. Germain des Près. All in all, indeed, it was a bargain, given the stratospheric prices of decent & centrally-located hotels in Paris. Hope to get this one again some time! BTW we did not have breakfast, but went to a REAL café five minutes' walk away on the Bd. Montparnasse.
Great location
from Anamaebe
Nice, moderate hotel in a great location, very close to Metro (St. Placide), reasonable walk to attractions. Friendly, helpful staff; multiple elevators. By US standards, smallish, but perfectly adequate, rooms with a few of the amenities we take for granted that are often omitted in Europe (i.e., hair dryers and wash cloths).
Great Location, Nice Rooms, Good Staff
from hawkeye2005
We just returned from our first trip to Paris and we had a great time. We stayed there for a week (including Christmas) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn St. Germain. It is in a great location, within easy walking distance to the Metro, local shops (including a great chocolatier, patisseries, convenience stores, and Bon Marche). The rooms were a good size (by European standards especially) with a nice sized bathroom. They could probably do away with the bidets and make even more room :) Windows opened which was nice. The streets were lively, but not terribly noisy and the linens were well stocked--plenty of clean towels and toilet paper every day. The breakfast is not worth the 15 Euros--walk around the corner to the patisserie and get a brioche or croissant, coffee, and fruit for 3 Euros--a much better deal. We had to eat at the hotel for dinner on Christmas day, as most other places were closed, and the meal was okay. The desk staff are well versed in several languages, though not incredibly knowledgeable about the local eateries or venues. They were, for the most part, friendly. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the not too distant future--Paris was wonderful!

As always, I enjoyed staying at the Holiday Inn St. Germain de Pres. I travelled on Eurostar - punctual, easy, from Waterloo to Paris Gare du Nord. The Hotel is only 50m away from the Metro Stop and it takes about 15 minutes from Gare du Nord to St. Placide (metro stop).... more
