We booked our break only 4 weeks...

We booked our break only 4 weeks before actually going and I must admit to be rather nervous beforehand. Mostly because this is the first time we had booked this type of holiday and I really wasn't sure what to expect. Plus reading the limited reviews we could find in advance didn't give massively positive comments. Oh boy how wrong I was to be concerned. We were more than impressed and we are already trying to work out when to go back next year.
We stayed in a two bedroom elegance with a decking area (something I would recommend all to spend the little bit extra on if you can afford to). The mobile home really exceeded my expectations in cleanliness, comfort and facilites. Life certainly has changed since I was a young child going on carvan holidays. The park itself had excellant facilities (three pools, resturant, club house, childrens club, shop, I could go on). Infact I honestly can say Siblu seemed to have considered most things any family would want. The staff themselves were very friendly and helpful, with a mix of English and French employees all who were bi-lingual. In particular Fiona, one of the childrens entertainers, really made the effort with my 2 year old daughther who has made a friend for life (although Lily The Tiger Fiary was a very close second). Weather wise it wasn't as hot as I had hoped, mostly around 22-23 deg, but to be fair we did have sunshine most days so we were not stopped from doing anything. The town centre in St Jean De Monts was reasonably small with some lovely little shops. Nearer the beach was the more predictable resturants and tourist shops. All in all definately one of our best family holidays to date and we will definately be returning.

This park is fine, but not much...

This park is fine, but not much better than that.
The Marketing department at Siblus deserve an A1++ grade though as they've really gone to town to make this park seeming like an oasis, but it's not as gentrified as the 'lady with the beautiful voice' makes out on the Siblu website.
Main gripes were the location, our home was a good 10 mins walk from pools/shops and the overall location of the park which was not at all forest like in our section. The reps told us it was a ten min walk into town, double it at least (it's 1.3 miles) and about 35 mins walk to the beach. Fine if you don't mind driving everywhere but if you want to grab your stuff and hit the beach then you got to get parked up etc etc.
The other thing we were really looking forward to was the Bubbles kids club. It was basically a large room with some crash mats. A girl did put dome drawing stuff out and then left everyone to it, but hardly the experience described in the marketing blurb.
As I say, an outstanding job from Siblu's makerting team, they really have manged to make a sows ear sound like a silk purse.
You'll have a great time if you've already booked (we did) but this is more to help manage expectations...

Having been on Siblu holidays for the...

Having been on Siblu holidays for the previous few years we decided to try this site as the location appealed to us.
From the day of arrival we were extreimely dissappointed with many things about the site. We had travelled with family and requested that we would like to be as close to each other as possible. They did put us relatively near but we were seperated by the main road through the site which meant that our children were tempted to keep crossing the road to visit each other. This would not have been so bad if as the brochure states the road is a 'winding path'....it was actually more like an 'A' road at peak time. The main culprits were the staff on caddies that felt the need to drive around at top speed.
The site has a sister site across the road were you can use all the facilities. The indoor pool (which was the only one indoors) was so small and as the weather was pretty cold the first few days it was very cramped.
The entertainment was mainly held at the sister site and there was no provision for wheelchair or pushchair access, and considering that this is a family site this was quite suprising.
The main problemfor us though was with noise. The site is meant to be patrolled so that after 11pm noise is not tolerated. We had several nights where a caravan on the level above us played music and held parties until the early hours. There was no number to call out of hours and the security guards were invisible at this time. It later transpired that the noise was being created by Siblu reps so the security guards were probably at the parties!
Overall the area is great. the beaches are lovely and the kids club reps (especially Mel) made the holiday for us. We have really enjoyed our other Siblu holidays and feel let down and dissapointed with this one. We will be goign on another Siblu holiday next year but it won't be to Le Bois Dormant!

We visited this Siblu site in...

We visited this Siblu site in August'06 and found the accommodation very good (we were in an excellence with a terrace, in a quiet location in the park. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained. The park itself is the quieter of the two, but that suited us. The Children’s club staff / entertainers were excellent and we took the opportunity to get the children into the activities and competitions...they loved it...be prepared for the sound of "ta ta ta tiger club". The entertainment was fairly varied (mostly the children’s club entertainers doing songs / dances etc...And it was good fun). The pool at Bois Dormant comprised of the children’s area / swimming area, toddler’s paddling pool and a separate pool...the water slides are great. There were plenty of life guards, and overall the pool was excellent. The site has an Astroturf style football pitch which was very popular, and a good place for children to make friends...plus competitions for all ages. We booked our son into the Premier Soccer School coaching for a week, and he really enjoyed it - the coaches were great. The Children’s play areas are very good.
The food on Bois Dormant is limited to a takeaway...but the quality and price was good (there is a restaurant on the Masson). The prices of drinks are o.k. (about 4 euro for a pint)...and the small supermarket on site has all you will need to keep you going (the large supermarket is about a mile away - cheese and wine still very cheap!)
We visited St Jean De Mont (1 mile away) and the town is very nice and has a superb market on Wednesday and Saturday...the choice and variety is excellent. The beach is great - separate areas for pedestrians / cyclists / cars (free parking!) and it will not get crowded due to its sheer size.
Overall a very enjoyable holiday...with excellent staff.
Unfortunately we had to use the French Healthcare System (which was very efficient) ...so make sure you have you E1-11 card. Just in case!

This place is two sites in one as there is a sister park on the other side of the road. This park is the more peaceful of the two which suited us. The quality of the park was high with lots of organised activities for the kids. The entertainment was ok but not brilliant but the prices of food and drink was surprisingly reasonable.
Our mobile home was the basic one they offered but was well equipped and nicely fitted out. I would have liked it to have been bigger but there was enough room for 2 adults and 2 children.
The area is fantastic great beaches nearby and some lovely countryside. The nightlife is mainly on the park there’s not much else nearby but at least you have the choice of two parks for entertainment. Overall a very good holiday site.
