I went to the hotel a couple of years ago and did not enjoy it. The food was the same every night, thanks god we only went for one week and not two. It was always some sort of meat in 3 different sauces. Our room was carpeted with some old bright green carpet and not tiled,... more

The hotel is superbly located for the beach and the marina. It is only a short walk from the station which cot only 3.80 Euros for two of us each way from Malaga airport. Train takes about 30 mins and is air conditioned . The hotel pool was great always room and no queuing... more

Overall we had great holiday. Hotel wasn’t the best but clean bed every day and new bathroom was enough compare to the price. Staff helpful and very friendly. I regret that hotel didn’t provide local or continental food I was expected. Self catering I'd recommend for... more

We stayed at the El Puerto hotel in Fuengirola from 25 September till 2 October. There was three of us two adults and one child age 2 & 1/2. The location is great, right in the resort centre across the road from the beach and fair and play park close by for children. The... more

Found this hotel to be so-so. It's basic and functional. Rooms are similar standard to a Travel lodge in the UK. It is a good central location and a 2 minute walk to the bus and train station and town centre. Right on the beach. It is clean and the food in the restaurant... more

Just came back on Wednesday after a long weekend, there were 12 of us on a 50th birthday. We all agreed that this hotel was perfect in all aspects. Rooms were very clean, beds made everyday, clean towels everyday. We all enjoyed the breakfast’s great choice, fruit... more

I recently came back from visiting Fuengirola and would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone. I went with an Elderly relative and I myself have a disability, but found the hotel to be a great location as its surroundings are all flat and there aren't any hills to... more

We’ve just spent 11 nights in the El Puerto in Fuengirola. The rooms are a bit small, especially the bathroom, but very clean. Towels changed daily and bed linen twice a week. Breakfast is very good but the evening meals are not so good. Pork chops are invariably tough... more

As always, fantastic service from this hotel. Located right on the beach front, giving easy access to all the shops/bars. Although in the centre, the noise from the local bars is kept to a minimum. Rooms were well presented and recently upgraded. Whilst staying the lifts in... more

Hotel has at one time been very nice but is quite run down. There has been a bar at the pool area which is now boarded up, very disappointing as only a soft drinks machine was available. The food was okay but not a big choice and the same every day, also tended to be luke... more

wont go here again
My wife and i stayed at the El Puerto for seven nights on a half board basis and ate out a few times, as although the food quality was not bad it was served barely warm. The lifts in the hotel are an absolute joke and although we were on the seventh floor we walked down most times. It would be possible to spend most of your holiday waiting for lifts in this hotel. On our last day in the hotel we were out of our rooms at 12 o clock but to keep our room on for six hours would have cost 50 euros. we were told that a courtesy room would be available but this turned out to be the showers beneath the swimming pool and my wife and i had to change in the toilets. On our last day the bus was three quarters of an hour late for the airport. However when i phoned the emergency helpline from the hotel phone i was charged 70 cents for the privilege and although this was a very small amount it summed up the entire feel of the holiday.
Great location
Stayed here in 2 twin rooms B+B for 3 nights. Rooms are clean but the floors are spolit by dirty green carpets. The lifts are a nightmare you can wait up to 10 mins for a lift we stayed on 11th floor and got so fed up we walked down many times. Fantastic location everything within 50 yards of the hotel. breakfast good nice wide choice buffet style. If you want a central location in a basic but clean hotel this would be OK.
enjoyed our stay
this was our first holiday abroad, the weather was excellent and we enjoyed our stay here loads, the staff were really friendly food was good, this hotel was in an excellent location right across from the beach and well within easy reach of everything to habe a great stay. will definately return sometome in the future.
Great hotel, good food, staff very helpful & friendly.Close to beach & shops.
Great hotel with friendly staff and excellent food. Close to all the shops, bars, bus and railway stations. I highly recommend you stay here if in Fuengirola.
The port hotel
If you want beauty, luxury or romance this place probably isn't for you but if you're just looking for a clean room and a place to rest your head at a budget price then you could do a lot worse. Staff were friendly and rooms were cleaned and towells changed daily (even if you didn't manage to leave your room before 2pm) The ensuit bathroom did smell a bit drainy but we were only there for 3 days so i don't know it that was a tempoary problem. The shower was great. Check in is at 2 but they had no problems giving us a room at 12 even though our lastminute booking could not be found. The hotels bang on the sea front, we had a sea view room and balcony. The hotel is 5 mins to the train and bus station made it an ideal location from which to explore the region.
Disappointing
Whilst the El Puerto is beautifully situated for the beach and marina it left something to be desired. The hotel has no atmosphere and the rooms are clean but very basic with the carpets desperately needing replament. The food left a great deal to be desired, invariably luke-warm and unappetising. Although, if you are staying on a half-board basis, you can take either lunch OR dinner as your second meal. We found that lunch was by far the better option, and 'cooked to order'. Trying to use the lifts is an outing in itself. Be prepared to wait, especially in a morning when the maids take over! Not a hotel we would use again.
Great for the beach
This hotel is great for beach lovers and is situated on the beach front. We were there at the first week in october, half board. The staff were friendly and helpfull and the food, although not excellent, certainly adequate. At this time of year there are a lot of elderly people who are there which tends to slow things down a wee bit.Still, all in all ,not a bad hotel and not a bad area either.Certainly we would consider going back.
Not bad, but not great.
The location of this hotel is excellent for the beach and Fuengirola night life, but I was disappointed with several aspects. The lifts were the biggest annoyance. We were on the 1st floor, and it still took an average of 5 minutes for a lift to arrive. At times there were dozens of people waiting in the lobby for lifts which was very annoying. The room was ok, but had dark green carpet which looked dirty and had numerous stains on it. The room was cleaned daily, but the maids would make the bed and put the same sheets back on without washing them which they did for 10 consecutive days. The pool looks idyllic in the photos, but it took so long to make your way up there with the bad lifts and stairs that we didnt use it. The hotel also charge for the use of the sun beds by the pool!On the day we were checking out, our flight wasnt until late evening. The hotel said we could leave our bags there for the day and use a shower room before we left. When returning from the beach at 6:30pm, we were told that showers were only available until 6pm. Consequently we couldnt get cleaned up before flying home!
Suitable for two!
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. All of the rooms are the same size and really only suitable for two people as they are not that large. Be careful when you book as we were a family of four and still given this hotel (this is not the fault of the hotel). The air conditioning is turned off between 2am and 8am when you need it most! The swimming pool is on the roof and there are two flights of spiral stair to climb once you get out of the lift. The pool has a slopping side so you can't stand at the edge of the pool which is not helpful when you have small children. Location was great. Reception was always clean and tidy.
el puerto, its alrite, its ok.
stayed at the el puerto hotel in fuengirola, its 3 star is about right in its rating, not a bad hotel but i thought it was a bit expensive for what you get. Rooms are clean and towels changed everyday, breakfast was a bit ordinary with not much selection nice views overlooking the med and the paeso maritime and the marina, a word to the wise though some rooms dont overlook the beach and instead overlook the town of fuengirola so make a point of having a seaview if you like to sit out on the balcony and have a beer, other than that thelifts can be a pain at times waiting for them if you are on the upper floors. No parking facilities at the hotel which i was led to be told that there was, the swimming pool is on the roof of the hotel which is all very well for the views but you cant dive in because its so shallow, good for catching some rays though, apart from that its ok, i will give it 6/10
