Hilton Paris La Defense Hotel

I just do not enjoy staying at this hotel. It's like La Defense itself at night, cold, echo'y and desolate. The hotel is built into side CNIT conference and shopping center and surrounded by office blocks which tends to mean that everything is closed and no one is around. Even the lobby bar area feels like a warehouse than a room. Also avoid larger bedrooms, there almost empty of furniture which just adds to the warehouse feeling; the regular interior rooms are much better. We just got back from our stay at Hilton La Defense, this was a hotel that was the starting and ending with a Trafalgar tour. We knew it was in the business district after reading reviews on this site, it was a nice clean and big room, with a big bathroom, a plus for us after traveling all night. Sure the view from the room looks out to nothing but we didn't plan on staying in the room we came to Paris. Stayed for 2 nights on business. Fantastic location if your business is in La Defense and you have little or no need to head into the centre of Paris. Otherwise, despite being close to La Defense metro, it is still a trek to/from the tourist sites. Mind you, my taxi driver from Gare du Nord didn't know where the hotel was. First of all this hotel is difficult to find. Having found it and realised it was in a shopping centre, the tone was already set! Checked in at 6:30pm (ish) ie. prime check in time - 1 person on the desk and a queue of 6 people. Room was clean and spacious but in the middle of a building site. No 'extra' facilities associated with a hotel of this cost. Paid €300 euros (corporate rate) for the 'privelege' - will not be staying there again.

I was working there over a period of 3 months and used the hotel very frequently. Customer service is appalling, compared to other Hiltons in Paris this is bottom of the league. The staff are not interested, even I who am a Diamond VIP member did not get the service I have expected from Hilton. Other cons with this hotel, is there is no gym facility and when you ask for local they do not even subsidise it.. The room service got my order wrong one out of three times. This was my first time to Paris and I traveled from January 16 through January 23. I lucked out with mild weather 55-60 F. This hotel is located in the financial district of Paris. Modern architecture and business surrounds it. I traveled alone so the room itself was huge by Paris standards (320sq f.) The only gripe I had with the hotel was that there was construction going on and the ventilation system was not functioning properly. I enjoy a cool evening sleep and fresh air. Not my best Hilton experience. The hotel is still undergoing renovation.. Pros: Staff friendly Nice breakfast if you are a gold member Close to the metro and shopping malls Cons: Lots of noise all day No control over the thermostat No workout room Rooms facing the inside of the structure get to hear drunks yell to the we hours of the morning.

We just returned last night from Paris!! Loved the city, people and the hotel. It was a little out of the city in the financial district, like everyone told me, but it was clean, king size bed, and very large from what I reviewed of some other hotels. By metro it was 15 minutes to the Arc de Triomphe and another 15 to the Eiffel Tower. Breakfast was free to the guests staying at the hotel, full buffet style, very delicious. This was great with 6 of us dining.

Stayed here mid-week during October 2007. Here's a summary of my experience: Room: 10/10 As a Diamond Member I was given an upgrade to a spa room that looked onto the main square. This had a whirlpool bath (with built in TV screen) and upgraded amenities. The room was very clean, quiet and well designed. First of all the location is not great. The hotel is in the business district - think Canay Wharf but further out of the centre. The hotel in inside a weird shopping centre thing - with a concrete roof. The windows to the rooms open out in to the shopping centre - not outside! Not a great 1st impression. There are refurbishment works going on in the shopping centre thing which starts at 7.30am!!!
