Our 4th holiday in Thassos - we love the island. We've stayed at the Aethria before, and were disappointed when Kosmar changed this year's booking from Aethria to Macedon.

However, we were delighted when we got there! Our twin room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Pool area is delightful, and Paul, the owner, charm itself.

Breakfast was very good by Greek standards, and although we never had a snack at the pool bar, there are plenty of places nearby.

Best finds this time - small beach at Aliki (bigbeach gets too crowded) where cafe owners let me have a free sun bed when I bought a drink; and swimming from the rocks at Skidia(just further on than Aliki).

We had a great time in Thassos at Macedon. The hotel is family run and very friendly.

The rooms are basic, but this is to be expected from Greece, they were clean. The bar man (Paul) is the best chief I have ever come across, however the menu was very limited and Paul decided what was on offer and what we could eat.

This did not matter because what ever he cooked was fantastic.

We enjoyed hiring a car and travelling around the island finding little private beaches ( in August this was possible)

The beach in the town is a little walk away but well worth it. I advise everyone to visit the drift bar on the beach. They look after you very well and again are very friendly.

A very relaxing holiday full of Greek spirit. Highly recommended.

We have been to Thassos town for the last 2 years and find it the most peaceful place.

With plenty of lovely restaurants, the one we recommend is Vasilis.

We always go the month of May not the hottest month and can be a little cool at night.

The hotel itself is very clean but if you like a good breakfast this is not the place for you; however they do have sun chairs to die for.

We do recommend that you hire a car for there are some lovely beaches and places to see.

Flagman and Tortoise Lady.

Thassos Town is lovely. Lots of delicious food to be eaten in the many restaurants and tavernas.

Lots of little shops to have a mooch around in and there are some lovely works all over Thassos. We walked up into one of the hills to take a look at the ancient ampitheatre...quite amazing. There are other Greek ruins to be seen all around Thassos.

There is one main beach in Thassos Town, which is quite nice, and the water is crystal clear. Lots of different types of fish to be seen and eaten. On the whole, the resort was lovely. Our hotel was basic but very very clean and our balcony over looked the foot shaped pool! The maid came in and cleaned our room every day, which also had air conditioning. There’s a bar next to the pool where you can grab a snack.

Unfortunately we went too early in the season and they had no menu! Oh, forgot to mention that we should have been in the Aethria Hotel but when we arrived at Kavala Airport, the reps told us that our hotel hadn’t opened for the season and so they rehomed us in the Macedon!

I would definitely recommend Thassos Town to anyone! Lovely and relaxing holiday was had by us.
