I can't even begin to express how pleased we were to find this place... after a horrible start to our holiday at Pontins down the road we contacted Haven at Burnham on Sea and they were fantastic from the moment we phoned to the moment we left!
I was determind as it was self catering that I would cook but on our first night we ate at the Mash and Barrel and couldn't fault the price or the food, was really tastey and it was late! (often you find the later it is the poorer quality) this became the place for us to eat most nights and we even did the Character breakfast as my 3 year daughter loved the characters, such a brilliant idea!! never seen her eat so much brekkie!!!
The evening entertainment was fantastic and the funstar team work tremendously hard to be welcoming and to include all the children.. although I can imagine this side of it would not appeal to older children!
The caravan itself was spotlessly clean, we had everything we could wish for and more! We used the swimming pool and it was also clean and the staff very welcoming, overall for our first family holiday this will take some beating!!! THANK YOU HAVEN!!

We had a very happy time at Burnham. The staff were helpful, professional and friendly. The caravan was even nicer than we were expecting, very clean and house keeping quick to respond when the kettle broke. The site itself was very pleasant with lots of trees and walking distance to the long sandy Burnham beach. We really enjoyed our holiday, no complaints, came away happy caravaners!
- Advice: Plenty of sand though danger of sinking sand near sea! great fun using go karts..

We have just come back from the site and would really like to go back again. My two daughters aged 8 and 1 had a lovely time, they did everyting at the site. We did swimming(water warm),crazy golf,tennis- £8.00 for an hour, to hire 2 bats and a ball, pricey and also some of the day time entertainment that haven provided. We also had a good laugh hiring out the buggies, tiring but fun. The site also had two bouncy casles one at the front and one at the back.
What i liked most about the holiday is that the site is clean and safe for my children to run around and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We have been to a few other haven sites, but for me and my family this is the best site.
The only bad thing l can say about the site is mash and barrels food. On sunday we had carvery- the food was lukewarm, by the time your quater of the way in your meal it was cold. They also had the football on which was blarring out and people cheering and haven also had music on at the same time. We thought we risk it on monday at the mash and barrel. Very disapointed, we waited for about three quaters of an hour for our meals, to once again having a cold meal. Cold lasagna and chips- disgusting. We didn't bother risking it for a third time.
As l live in cornwall l was very disapointed with the beach. They had signs up saying "risk of sinking sand" and a picture of a head in sand, this ment to be award winning beach? I didn't risk putting my children on the beach
I would defenetly come back here again with my children. l wouldn't recomend this site for people looking for a quiet getaway, as their are children everywhere. Also for teenagers as their is not a lot caterd for them.

We've just come back from a Monday to Friday stay at Burnham on Sea, and we had a great time. We had a standard plus caravan and we're a little anxious as to what we were to be given but we were very surprised and very pleased with the caravan. It was clean, spacious, well located and well equipped. To be honest other members of our party stayed in a Superior caravan and theirs was smaller and narrower and the only difference was that they had their beds made for their arrival. The campsite itself is very clean and staff are friendly. Lots of amusement machines, and ticket collecting to be done, so make sure you go with a supply of change! The Mash & Barrel was OK, nice food if you don't want to leave the site or cook and quite reasonably priced. Although my only complaint was that we ordered a Cream Tea only to wait 25 mins (after drinking our tea) that there was no clotted cream (that's the best bit isn't it?). Also the Mash & Barrel is good for those who don't want to be upstairs with children entertainment, or for those who want to watch football. Upstairs in the Show Bar was very loud, and entertainment could be improved (especially the Pop Party where I am sure I could sing better!) but saying that the kids enjoyed it so thats the main thing.
Swimming pool is ok, does its purpose. There are karts to hire for around the park at £10 for an hour (plus £20 deposit), tennis courts, quaser, inflatable slide, swing park etc.
The campsite is close to the lovely beach of Burnham on Sea, litterally just across the road. There is a Morrisons along the sea front approx 10 mins walk if you want to stock up the caravan.
- Advice: Take plenty of 2p's, 10p's and 20p's for arcade!!

Stayed for a week at Burnham-we booked through an owner and got it half the price Haven charged the caravan was really nice and clean and a great location. Having been going to Haven for a few years with my family we have always been pleased with the entertainment but, sadly Haven made changes to the entertainment this year cutting out lots of the entertainment they have done in previous years making the evening entertainment this year very repetitive and boring-lots of 'disco breaks' the same science and magic shows repeated twice a week, nothing for the children and it goes on... I was very disappointed in the lack of entertainment for the teenagers, my 15 year old teenage son was very bored with little to do on site if your not into sport. The swimming pool was nice though not huge so can get very busy at peak times and at busy times they operate a wrist band system. There is a beach opposite the site that is a sandy beach-though you need to watch out for the mud and sinking sand !
There is not many options when it comes to eating on site-The mash and barrell is very pricey now and the food is poor condition-waited over 30 minutes for breakfast which when it was served was cold, We ate at Pappa Johns one night-again very pricey but nice. There are restaurants near by I would recommend-the Hungry horse and weatherspoons and they are both less then 10 minutes away and the town is within walking distance. The entertainment team were great-friendly, happy and amazing with dealing with problems-on two occasions during our stay the Funstars had to deal with drunk holiday makers in the showbar when security were no where to be seen.
Not sure we would return to this park again as not enough to do on site for teenagers but overall we did have a nice family holiday.
- Advice: Dont eat on site eat at the hungry horse that is local to the park-though try to avoid the busy times. Visit Apex park thats near the site a great play park-even for the teenagers

The site was very clean, nice staff and the grounds were very well looked after. The eating areas and bars were very well laid out. Very convenient for the town and beech. Disappointed in our caravan it was well worn and not as clean as it could be. It was also very cold. The double bed was very lumpy.

Just returned from a 4 night break at this site. The site was clean, spacious and with well kept grounds. Our caravan was a 'deluxe' model. Having not stayed in a mobile home for many years and never having experienced a 'Haven' holiday I was a bit nervous! We were upgraded from a 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom and were given free entertainment passes. The caravan was clean and spacious and although one of the heaters was broken in the children's bedroom, the staff provided extra quilts for them.
Our 3 children thought the site was absolutely fantastic. They tried out aqua jets and loved the swimming pool complex. They also loved the slot machines (unfortunately)! The staff on site were helpful and very professional. We can't comment on the Mash and Barrel as we didn't eat in there. We would recommend booking activities as soon as you get there as in high season they do get booked very quickly. The children didn't get to go on a fishing course at the lake as they only run on a Tuesday or Saturday but thats one to do in the future!
We will definately go back to the site again and would recommend it as a fun, family holiday location.

We stayed at the Haven Burnham-on-Sea park for a four night midweek deal at the end of September 2010. We paid extra to upgrade the caravan and for the gas, electric and linen.
We didn’t pay for the club passes... why should one pay extra for the privilege of spending money in their bar! But they gave them to us anyway.
The caravan was really nice and spotlessly clean. It wasn’t top of the range with a veranda but had a DVD player and microwave etc. A nice bonus was a small convector heater in each of the three bedrooms.
No the beds are not normally made up for you in caravans as some other reviewers seemed to expect, but you can pay extra for it if that is important to you.
We thought the park itself was lovely, very spacious with lots of trees and greenery.
The seafront was a short walk away through the back pedestrian gate, and the centre of Burnham about 10/15 mins stroll. Morrison’s supermarket is along the front.
We didn’t use the club or other facilities so cannot comment on those apart from the big area of slot machines that you cannot avoid when entering the complex. Not impressed with that at all!
We had breakfast one morning in the ‘Mash and Barrel’ never again! I didn’t have expectations of gourmet food but did expect bog standard supermarket cafe quality, this was far below that.
Everything was lukewarm and the scrambled egg like nothing we have ever encountered, the beef and pork sausage was also dreadful.
Because of this experience we gave the place a wide berth in the evenings when they were charging full pub prices.
We used Burnham as a base to visit Bath, Cheddar, Glastonbury, and Wells, and it was ideal for this purpose.
But if the beach or swimming in the sea is important to you, then personally I would go further west to Woolacombe Bay or somewhere like that...
Tip: If visiting Bath and using park & ride, be aware that they are very popular with local commuters and become full early, particularly the smaller ones such as Newbridge. Odd Down is the big one and normally has spaces, so best to head straight there.

love it here. booked a break in the exclusive caravans which are right on the lake. wildlife surround the veranda every morning just waiting to be fed.
the caravan itself was lovely, spotless clean, and everything was of a great standard.
have been to the park a few times before and if finances were a bit better i can promise you we would be buying our own caravan here. but for now we have already booked and paid for 2 visits next year. a week in april and a week in september.
all i can say is we love it love it love it !!!!!
hubby spends spare moments fishing which is great cos in the lake caravans i can still talk to him but get to sit on the veranda relaxing !!
see you next year burnham unless my lottery numbers come up , then i will be straight down to order my own caravan near the lake !! xxxx

We have just returned from a weeks break here. what can I say but WOW!!
Throughly great time, plenty for the kids to do. The swimming is fantastic and they got my daughter swimming within a half hour.
The site on the whole was very clean and tidy, with workmen out every day cleaning the leaves etc. Very quick on any problems, Security at night are very good.
We stayed in prestige accomodation.
If you havent a car, the bus comes into the site at the top and takes you round most places. Plenty of places to go in the car too. If you have a tomtom it will come up with loads of places.
Morrisons and asda just up the road.
Go to Cheddar Gorge its a must!! Wookey hole equivalent (except the caves)can be a little disappointing.
Ask for a lake view, its lovely first thing in the morning. Car parking right next to the caravan.
My husband is disabled and didnt not have much trouble walking to and from the caravan to the amenities. although there are disabled bays available, which we used a couple of times when he was tired.
The funstars were great, our kids (9 year old girl and 2 year old boy) loved Scott, Caz and Katie especially.
The few things that couldve been better were:
The bar is way to expensive.
More bradley and Roary needed for the younger children.
The caravan needs more attention to cleaning.
These little things will not put us off and already booking for next year.

caravan was verry nice just the site let it down most of the things on the site were shut down they wanted us to pay 18 pounds each for passes so we could spend more of our money on there site in there arcade and on beers in there club even if we had payed for the passes we would still have to pay to use most of the things on the site and in the club. we spoke to lots of people on the site and almost every 1 said dont buy the passes there a rip off and said do like every 1 else on the site dose go in to the town its much cheaper
