took my 4 grandchildren and daughter for a short break, they all really enjoyed it, caravan was clean beds made and table set for our arrival. site was clean and the staff very friendly.the bar is not to large but clean, and the swimming pool is brilliant not large enough to swim long distances but great for the kids. there is a regular bus service from beside the main gate, one warning have plenty of change as correct fare must be given. There is a good shopping center at Musselburgh only 15 minutes away. Edinburgh is great for history but be prepared to walk up and down hills.
- Advice: study the local area and plan ahead

We have just returned from a three night stay (26th Aug)we found the site very well presented,no litter, nice pool, kids activities, playground and a smart club house. Our caravan was not modern, however it was clean and tidy and comfortable for three people plus our dog.
The staff were very helpful and polite, including the litter pickers who kept the site very tidy.
We would use this park again in view of this visit, although it is a lot further from Edinburgh than we believed.I would suggest using the B road via Portobello/Musselburgh when travelling into Edinburgh which seemed much shorter and easier than the by pass.
Enjoy
- Advice: The buses are very cheap and great for travelling into Edinburgh (try parking, nightmare!) lots of interesting stuff within a short distance.

Hi, im just back from seton sands in Edinburgh and i thought that the holiday was good, nice big open caravan lots of space. Clean bedding and the caravan was'nt to bad either. Staff was really warm and friendly. The pool was a reasonable size but the deep end could be a bit deeper as adults can stand up in the deep end ha ha the life guards were hot!! :D also the ammusments are'nt up to much but it is big and good for the kids, most of the things in the park are for kids that's what they need to grow on more things for adults as the holiday is for everyone not just kids. The bar in the show area needs some seats as people like to sit next to the bar not at a table when your on your own in for a wee drink. The chip shop is good but a bit pricey on somethings. The beach is crap needs cleaned and it's not much of a beach ha ha but all in i enjoyed my stay and would go again as i am just back and missing the place i might start saving up for the next time around :D hope you's enjoy yourselves. x
- Advice: get more entertainment for adults,

I have been going to this caravan park for two weeks every july for 10 years! i enjoy it every year and always look forward to going back every summer. For everyone who is moaning about dirty caravans, cutlery and bedding then you should consider hiring private caravan. This is what we do every year and we find that the owners leave the place immaculate for us and we know where everything is and how to work everything, it usually works out cheaper to hire privately aswell! And as for the entertainment in the park, its not always the best but they have something different on every night, its not their fault if you dont like it! The park is also not the best, it used to be alot better years ago but they have since changed it.
I think that if you find yourself with nothing to do in park then you should venture outside it and stop moaning about it. Its only a 15 min walk to the village which has a co-op and newsagents etc.
There is also musselburgh which we go to almost every day because we love all of the little shops! there are plenty of cafes , charity shops and souvenir shops to go to and i also highly recommend the musselburgh race course which is always a great day out fot the family!
There is also a large tesco is musselburgh which is handy if you dont get what you need at the co-op!
There is a bus service to the caravan park every 30 mins and its only a 45 min bus ride to the centre of edinburgh which is well worth a visit at some point in your holiday!
For a shopping experience closer to the park then there is also Fort Kinnaird shopping centre which is just off the A1 and has about 50 high street stores and and is also the closest mcdonalds :P! Fort Kinnaird is just a 30 min drive from the park!
All in i think this park is great value and you will enjoy it if you go to the right caravan! i really cant recommend hiring privately enough! The owners also sometimes throw in a couple of passes for amusements as they are very overpriced! i hope this review has been helpful.

I am just home from a weeks holidays with my partner and two kids (aged 18 months and 34 months). The site itself is in a great location right across from the beach which has lots of shells to find and rock pools so keeps the kids entertained. our caravan was very basic but we expected this as we only booked a standard caravan. we were located at the edge of the park with a field with horses directly across which was nice. The complex had lots to do with a large arcade and good sized pool. Always plenty of entertainment on for the kids in the showbar. One thing i would definately recommend is eating in the terrace bar, all food we had was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Great holiday with lots of good memories

well the caravan was ok, but too squashed and has no green areas to go in. The people were so common and the staff especially security were dreadful. In the sport bar they didnt even have sky sports, and we just didnt feel welcome. We could play with a frisbie or anything very poor. Only good side was the location and views, but do not stay here!

Where do i start!!!!....
a) the haven caravans for hire are disgusting! filthy shower and stained bed linen! i asked for clean and fresh sets to be met with an arrogant **** of a man who informed me that their cleaners were very good!....notttttt!
b) the state of the roads in the site? only the moon can have more craters and potholes! there is no paved area for the safety of kids and prams!....a very serious concern!
c) the lack of entertainment! and the unfriendliness of the staff.
d) the breakfasting area (the bar) was also filthy. Sticky tables and the cutlery had the remnants from the previous use.
e) poorly mannered bar staff!
f) and there was police presence on the site as three cars were broken into, the owners were informed management would be on the scene straight away. After 20 mins no show so the owner went himself to the office only to find them having a sales meeting!!! he was also told only one security guard patrolled such a large site at night.
g) security barrier was never down!
h) only 4 washing machines & dryers in the laundry area and the tokens cost far too much!
i) the small, poorly equipped kiddies swing park was unsupervised. My husband had to intervene in a potential fight between 3 boys intent on attacking a much younger boy!
j) the speed at which the staff recklessly drive those buggies around the site
k) the noise early every morning of lorries, tractors, and cleaning staff rabbling on loudly outside the van we stayed in
l) it boasts a 'beautiful sandy beach'....ummmm, its a filthy rocky beach littered with broken glass and empty buckfast bottles!!!
haven should be brought to task for false advertising of this horrid place!
i will never take my family, and definately not recommend anyone to this dump or any haven site for that matter!
- Advice: Nuke the whole site

We stay here regularly as I have elderly relatives in Edinburgh and this serves our purpose as a family of 4 with 2 small children. Never had a problem with the vans but the entertainment has never been up to much. I no longer purchase the entertainment passes as a consequence. It seems to be hit and miss with the staff too. Last year my hubby rescued a family of 4 from there burning van and extinguished the flames. Did he get so much as a thank you? No he did not. We still need to stay at this park when we come but it will only ever be via private van hire. It's a good base to stay to enjoy lots of local attractions but I personally would not recommend it for anything else. Sorry guys... the potential is there.

We booked this through the Sun 9.50 offer and just got back from a 3-day weekend stay.
Positives: Great location and a great base for exploring Edinburgh and the East Lothian coastal areas. The site itself was relatively quiet and well kept as far as we could tell. Our kids enjoyed the playpark and the 2p amusements.
Negatives: The caravan was not very clean, nor were the crockery, pans, etc. The duvets and beds looked and felt very tired and as if they had not been cleaned in some time. There was no hoover or dustpan for us to clean the place ourselves, and on arrival (5pm) no way to light the stove to make a meal after a long trip. Reception couldn't help and the shop on site was already closed, which seemed a strange time to close, just when all the weekend people were arriving/checking in. The entertainment centre is just tired and very underwhelming. Not sure how better to explain it.
Obviously when you come to a site like this, you expect to see a lot of Phil Mitchell-types, drinking heavily and allowing their children to run riot, and there was a bit of this going on, but suprisingly little - maybe because it was the end of the season. The staff working in the pool seemed okay, but the people working in the arcade and in reception couldn't appear less interested in helping people if they tried.
I would go back to this site as it is in an area I love, and the beach/views out of the front of the site are superb, and I would recommend it on these points alone.
Just see it purely as a base and don't depend on the facilities - oh, and take all your own bedding, a dustpan and brush and a box of matches.
- Advice: Use the site as a base only to enjoy the local area

This was th3 third time that we had stayed at a Haven park.
On this occasion we where given a 3 bedroomed one that we paid extra for.
The mud was all around and really not suitable at all, especially for the elderly as it could be dangerous and it was so far away, you couldn't get further.
We went to reception and they changed it, they did say there was a flooding problem and the drainage wasnt very good? so they knew about it.
I also asked for a veranda a long time before arrival, they said it was on a first come, first serve basis, ok no problem. But why did they call me and charge me £50 on my last stay at a haven park for the request?.
The caravan had 1 gas fire in the front room, the other fires if you can call them that simply had no affect as they where so small and even standing next to them was pointless.
Evening entertainment! was not as advertised and we where all told to leave by 11pm. And as usual the drinks at the bar cost a fortune, especially 2 shots of lime cordial at 60p.On our first time at haven we paid a fortune for the Platinum caravan, what we got was not what the pictures clearly showed in their brochure, but they insisted those pictures where purely representational? we got a very inferior caravan and paid lots for it.After 3 stays at Haven sites, I do have to say never again. And if you go there expecting what you paid for, you will be disappointed. It seems also they dont even respond to complaints as I am still waiting for a reply from months ago.
