We didn't pay to upgrade but glad we didn't, got a lovely basic caravan with a sea view. If you do your research and go prepared you will have an enjoyable stay. It did drop cold but we had taken extra blankets and an heater as we knew there was no heating in the bedrooms.... more

We thought we would treat ourselves this year and opted for a Platinum caravan. We were told to go to the showbar for 2.30pm to collect the caravan keys. Didnt seem too busy which was good but when it was our turn, they didnt seem to have our keys (we had booked nearly a... more

Myself my wife and our 2 kids went for a long weekend in a standard caravan and loved it. The caravan for only being standard was clean and smelt fresh a little bit of damage but it was only small and in an area that wouldn't and didn't affect our holiday. The only thing... more

Booked in a caravan for 2 weeks, left over a week early, what a complete waste of time, money and effort! It was really expensive, hardly anything to do, the outdoor pool was never open (in the middle of summer) and the caravan was dirty when we arrived! The evening... more

Freezing in Haven
Got our holiday for £50 for 8 of us! It was a cancellation. There were 4 adults with 4 children in a superior caravan. We all fitted in fine but it smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The bedrooms at night were as cold as a freezer. You could see the curtains move when the wind blew. The onsite facilities were poor. The pool was the biggest disaster. Forty people wanting changed but there are only a handful of changing rooms. (You only get to stay in the swimming for one hour) Standing with 2 freezing children is not much of a holiday. However, the local Swan Centre was brilliant for swimming and also has a soft play area wth toys which is great. The soft play area on camp is pathetic. Play park is too small. Once about 8 children are on the one piece of equipment its too crowded for any more. Entertainment was constantly interrupted for the sale of something. They should change the DJ booth into a market stall. We were lucky with the weather and filled our day with wrapping up warm and going to the beach, to a great play park in nearby Spittal and to the Swan Centre. Sad to say put me off staying in a caravan for life and going to any more Haven resorts.
Caravan Holiday with 8 month old
Hi there We wanted to go away for a few nights (not too far from home) with our 8 month old son and thought about a caravan break. We booked on-line via Haven and chose their Berwick Holiday Park and a Superior Plus Caravan for 4 nights. When we arrived at the Park we were impressed with how nice and tidy and clean everything was at the Park. Our caravan was an 8 berth one and was really really nice. The fixtures and fitting were very modern and it was very clean and tidy. We got line with our package which was clean but the quilt cover looked like it had seen better days but fine for a short break. The kitchen was very well equipped and spacious (as big as my kitchen back home). The living / dining area was also very spacious, only thing was the TV was tiny, would have liked a bigger one as we had to stay in at night since out son went down to sleep at 7pm. The Fun Works was ok, not really our cup of tea, but lots of things for those with kids and those without. We didn't get a chance to experience the entertainment but hope to do so in the future. I would definately go again but would have to pay more for a caravan with central heating and double glazing as the temperature in the rooms dropped really badly at night and we had to bring our baby in bed with us as it was way too cold for him to sleep in a travel cot. The town centre is about a 10 min walk and it's a nice walk with views of the golf course and the sea. The town itself itsn't too bad, small but has shops like Woolworths, Boots etc. There is also a small town called Spittal a 10/15 mins drive from Berwick which has a beautiful beach with a promenade. On the way back there is a retail park with had an M&S Food Shop, we had to stop and get something nice for dinner. All in all, we had a really nice relaxing break and the reason we chose Berwick was that it was at the sea shore and had a lovely wee town and other things around to visit and do. Julie
