We didn't pay to upgrade but glad we didn't, got a lovely basic caravan with a sea view. If you do your research and go prepared you will have an enjoyable stay. It did drop cold but we had taken extra blankets and an heater as we knew there was no heating in the bedrooms.
The caravan was clean and tidy, the pans and cooking tray where brand new, basic but comfortable.
The entertainment is good for younger children and there is plenty to do both on and off site. The steps down to the beach are steep and the area is rocky, but we had hours of fun building sandcastle and looking in the rock pools.

Me and my partner booked a few months before, to go in Oct 2010 for 4 nights, absolutely loved it, the entertainment was great and had kids and adult entertainment so wasnt just for kids, arcade wasnt too bad price wise although we spend most of our time in it we spent a lot but it was worth it had a fun time. the bar wasnt over priced either.
the caravan i couldnt fault the only thing about it was the freezer still had ice cream stuck in it but didnt bother us we just put a plastic bag on the bottom then put all our stuff in, we slept on the pull out bed in the living room which was very comfy and because it had the TV and the fire in there so was very cosy (and with me being bigger i wasnt about to use the one in the main bedroom as i was scared of breaking it haha)
we did have to call out someone 3 times to fix the electricity as there was none in the morning after a stormy night but the men were ver helpful an did resolve the issue, all in all they were just little things so didnt spoil our holiday infact we are planning on going back in may this year and we are going for 7 nights and taking the dog with us and we have certainly learned our lesson to stay away a bit more from the arcade as its addictive, cant wait to go already written my list as to what to take with us, definately recomment berwick holiday park!!!

We thought we would treat ourselves this year and opted for a Platinum caravan. We were told to go to the showbar for 2.30pm to collect the caravan keys. Didnt seem too busy which was good but when it was our turn, they didnt seem to have our keys (we had booked nearly a year previous)woman ran to reception and we got the keys. On entering caravan it looked lovely we were impressed....but not for long.
We firstly noticed we had no bed linen or towels!!! (beds should have been made up and towels provided)my partner went to complain. Not long after we got the bed linen and 3 towels for a family of 4??? On making up our bed i noticed a rather large dried in blood stain i presumed (gross). My partner was in shower room at this time and shouted on me as the shower room floor was flooding as he was washing his hands (pipe behind sink disconnected) we had to then use the provided towels to soak up all the water on carpet. On closer inspection i found this caravan had not be cleaned in a loooooooooooong time, i wrote 'dust me' in a lot of places in the living room area in the dust (disgusting), all wooden blinds in living area very dusty too, there was a babys dummy under one of the kids beds, and under our bed was a coin, a sticky sweet and some decorative stones from the top of gas fire!!! What made me laugh was a letter on the counter addressed to the owner i presume with a cleaning checklist attatched with a paperclip dated 3/09/10

Myself my wife and our 2 kids went for a long weekend in a standard caravan and loved it. The caravan for only being standard was clean and smelt fresh a little bit of damage but it was only small and in an area that wouldn't and didn't affect our holiday. The only thing was the lack of play park for kids however along towards the golf course there is a great park and even my wife and i played on the roundabout/seesaw thing. The swimming pool is basic but clean and the funworks is pricey but kids love it. I would recommend going but not for more than the 4 nights as it'd get very boring

We visited for a family holiday in April 2010, being Haven customers for the past few years, and having had great experiences elsewhere, this was our first visit to Berwick......and it was to be our last.
The Site itself on arrival, was poor to say the least, rubbish everywhere, broken glass and visible pools of vomit around the entertainment complex.
We were made to wait four hours after our arrival to check in.
While waiting in the showbar for our allocated van details, we were directed to take a seat, however, there were shards of glass all over the floor and seating area to which we were directed.
When finally given our keys, we arrived at our van which was in a filthy state. The Bathroom had what was clealy excrement on the floor around the toiler, and shower had not been cleaned and still had the hair and soap scum from it's previous occupants.
The kitchen floor was filthy as were the utensils and worktops.
There were muddy footprints on the walls!
Curtains were hanging off the poles and were mouldy and there was a very unpleasant smell throughout.
The fire also didn't work and we had to resort to using the cooker hobs to get some heat.
After spending the night huddled under 3 duvets as a family, we complained to the reception staff the following morning. We demanded an alternative van and after some grumbling on their part, we were issued with keys to different accomodation.
From bad to worse!!!!!!!!
Filthy bathroom and mattresses were utterley vile. the stench of dirt and stale smoke was unbearable.
Enough was enough, and I demanded a meeting with the site manager.
After showing photographs and a list of issues, we were given a full refund and left after one night.
I will NEVER EVER use this holiday park again.
Utterly disgraceful.
Do not waste your time, money, or risk complete disappointment by using this pathetic excuse for a holiday park.
It ruined our family holiday for this year, and we had no time to rebook anywhere else.
UTTER RUBBISH!!

Booked in a caravan for 2 weeks, left over a week early, what a complete waste of time, money and effort! It was really expensive, hardly anything to do, the outdoor pool was never open (in the middle of summer) and the caravan was dirty when we arrived!
The evening entertainment was okay but again, drinks are so expensive. The Mash & Barrel (the eatery) had the worst food I have ever tasted! RUBBISH!!

i have attended this holiday park a number of times over the last couple years, i booked this for the 26th apr 2010, as a xmas gift for my mum and dad, we got to the caravan (deluxe standard) it was sooooo mucky!!, dirt on the benches and floor, we got a cup out to make a drink and was dirty inside! spent the 1st few hours of out (relaxing) holiday cleaning!! we made a complait at the reception desk and they advised us that some one will ber along to the caravan straight away, we were at the park for a week and no one came to see us the whole time, we then made another complaint on the day we left the park, they then AGAIN advised us that some one will be intouch we left number and email add, and still no responce! not happy with the service at all, the only good part of our holiday was the night-time entertainment, thanks to the entertainment team !

After reading reviews I was left thinking I was going to a pure dump but it wasnt at all! Firstly I booked privately via a third party website, this let me view photos of the actual caravan, and its location (on the edge of the cliff with a lovely sea view) as if you book through Haven at check in you get a ticket, go to the show bar - wait in a queue then get whatever keys your given and thats your caravan, its just down to luck whether its nice or not - I didnt want to take that chance! We went to the private owners reception and got our keys straight away - our caravan was a short distance from the main area, it was lovely, spotless, homely and cosy with veranda and nice view there were loads of little bunnies jumping around in the park although the seagulls were annoying they would just swoop down almost taking food out your hand!
Myself, my partner and our 2 year old son, arrived Friday for 3 nights, and were told the funwork passes would be £17.50 each and my son was free (off season prices)without the passes you cant even enter the complex to have a cup of tea! Instead we purchased the passes on the Saturday, we bought 2 days daily passes at £6.50 each per day, this meant it only cost £26 all in! there are loads of arcade machines, for drink everyone says its very expensive but it wasnt that bad also you can buy big plastic drink flask things, with straws they hold 4 pints and cost about £10-£12 and refills are fairly cheap, its a good idea as it means you dont need to wait in the queues as they do get big. We went to the show bar from around 6pm to 8pm (we always got a good table) our son goes to bed around 8pm and he isnt one to sit still once hes bored - when we were going home to our caravan to call it a night I think thats when people were going out, people were all dressed up pushing buggies with their child wearing night clothes and tucked in with blankets, personally I dont agree with that, having your child settling down to sleep in a really loud showbar - but thats just me!I was disappointed in the childrens soft play area, its so small, probably as its free! However I did think the complex was clean and well kept, we tried the chips from the chippy they were ok!
Mostly we were out and about the area round the caravan park is lovely, caves, beach, a play park, there are some lovely places to visit, Holy Island, other Beaches, Countryside and Farms. There was a street Market on Saturday and a Farmers Market in the town on Sunday, there is a Morrisons and an Asda and a leisure centre not too far away.
The weather was nice for the time of year, and I would love to go back sometime!
