I booked a prestige caravan with 2 bedrooms through the Haven website just a couple of weeks before travelling. The price was £309 discounted from £499. I read lots of reviews about the site after I had made the booking. If I had done so before hand I would never have... more

We booked four 'superior' caravans together in April for a family reunion on Friday 22nd - Monday 25th October. I would challenge the management to find caravans more basic than the ones we were allocated. Filthy carpets, pots and pans, and the furniture was so dirty we... more

Never again!!!
After paying £80.00 for just TWO nights on the Haven holidays Thorpe Park site nr Cleethorpes, I can honestly say NEVER AGAIN!! The site itself is, to be fair exactly as it is portrayed on the website and in the brochures, but there is where the honest portrayal ends. Yes, ther are lots and lots of things for the children to do , adventure golf, mini go karts, inflatable slides and roundabouts , swimming pool and splashzone etc etc etc the list is endless and SO ARE THE PRICES, as each activity with the exception of the swimming pool are all charged seperately, families with more than one child or, as lots of our young families nowadays are, on a limited budget, must have been paying out an absolute fortune daily to keep the children occupied. Its the age old problem, you can't take little ones to look in the sweetie shop window and then tell them they can't have any!! There were so many lovely things for the little ones to enjoy, what a shame that greed got in the way and made them inaccessible to half of the families there. The so called "entertainment passes" issued with our booking, were just that, a pass to say you were resident and allowed into the entertainment complex nothing more, not, as the hype leads you to believe a pass for all the facilities available on site. A previous excursion 3 weeks prior to a Pontins site at Brean Sands in Somerset was a totally different story which I wont bore you with now, but suffice it to say I know which company our family will be dealing with for kids short breaks in future (and it DOESN'T begin with an 'H') My husband and I NEVER put a price on our grandchildrens enjoyment, but after taking only ONE of the six on this trip (a birthday treat away from his brothers111) paying £80.00 just to park the motorhome there, upwards of £200.00 in TWO DAYS just to be entertained, n bearing in mind that this particular grandson is NOT an "I want" kinda kid and happy to spend time on his bike and playing golf with grandad (also at an extra charge, even the little ones adventure golf) PLUS the travel expenses to get there in the first place, our two weeks in Paphos Cyprus the previous week were practically a give away!!! I wont bore you with the details of the problems with eating at any of the places available on the site or on the helpfulness of the staff (It says no personal insults!) The touring site chap was a grand fella however and most helpful, shame he was the ONLY one. I feel sad to have felt the need to provide such a derogitory review but also feel that young families need to check thouroughly whats included in their so called holiday experience BEFORE booking.
