Hopton Holiday Park
, NorfolkHopton Holiday Park Reviews
Have been many times and has always been great! We normally use it as a base as it is a short trip to Great Yarmouth, Norwich and Lowestoft. We usually go for the prestige caravan which is clean and good quality. Arcades are fun and they have plenty of places to eat. If you want to eat off site there are two good pubs 5 minutes walk away, or Harvester and Toby Carvery are a 5 minute drive. Staff have always been polite and friendly. Would highly recommend!

The park itself was a nice looking camp, the beach was lovely and the food in the restaurant was ok for the money. I was shocked when I got in the carvan and the cleanliness was so poor, the smell in the toliet was not good. The toliet was so small you could just get into it . We payed for deluxe!!! The entertainment was poor ,it was so hot in the show bar as there was no air conditioning so the kids did not want to sit in there let alone the adults. I would say ok for a weekend but would not go back as a main hoilday again unless things improved.

Have been to this site 7 times now. It is a lovely clean site, but every year the entertainment just gets worse. There have been times in the past where acts from outside were brought in who were good- had Mick Miller for an hour one year(famous tv comedian in the '80s)and a comedy trio called " The Mad Hatters" who were great. You don't mind paying the extortionate prices for club passes if u get a little bit of entertainment like that. However lately , to save money I guess, we have had to put up with entertainment from the holiday staff( yawn),or poor quality pub singers.I did witness this year a " dance competition" where 3 staff members were dancing to out- dated party songs, and keeping the audience dancing with them by chanting every now and then " who wants to win a prize ?" They chose 2 kids as best dancers, and 1 adult. The kids " won " a certificate ( bit of paper) and a lollipop.Whoop-de-do.Guess what the grown up won?? A certificate and a lollipop..... How low can it go ? Sort it out next year, please !

I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Hopton Holiday Park
We arrived 20 minutes before we were due to book in but was able to gain access to our caravan , we had booked the top of the ranmge caravan and found it to be clean and with plenty of space, the only slight issue we had was that there was not enough room for my daughters cot in the second bedroom so we just tipped the bed on it's own and hey presto there was enough room.
We didnt venture into the entertainment pavillion but did use the pool and thought it was excellent, my eldest daughter loved going on the slide and all the staff were really friendly
One slight moan would be that the caravan didnt have a vacum cleaner so after about 4/5 days the carpet was a little grubby but that didnt spoil anything
All in all a good sight with good facilities

having read the reviews, little reluctant to book, however booked independantly through [--],
had a private five year old caravan on a quite part of the village,(southreach) a short stroll to the private beach and similar to the entertainment complex. the owners were great, left complimentry tea bags, coffee etc. the caravan was spotless.
the entertainment for our kids were fantastic with the " fun stars" working very hard.
the indoor pool was great with the flumes, but the outdoor pool which was heated was probably the best we have experienced.
forget booking with haven, try to book independtly, when you know the " owners" care about their property
would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this van, the owners dave and marilyn could not have been more helpful and have already consider booking next year with them

I am now in the process of taking haven to the small claims court for breach of contract.
We paid for a platinum caravan because they look fantastic on their website. What we received was nothing like what they advertise. Basically looked like a standard caravan. We also had a three month old and wasn't aware that they had to sleep in the main living area otherwise we would not have booked.
Hardly any space despite them advertising the opposite, the bedroom was so small you had to climb on the bed to get round it and the mattress was terrible. We left early as we could not face another night because of how uncomfortable it was.
The DVD player did not work, and the reception staff were very rude.
Please just be aware that what you see on the haven website is not likely the standard you will receive. They claim to be able to get round this by saying that pictures are for representation only. By this logic, if they sold cars they could advertise a porche but give you a golf because it has the same spec. Hardly fair.
The customer relations team are not interested in complaints and only send back copy and paste generic replies.
A very disappointing holiday and I shall never go with Haven again.

We have just arrived back from haven and had such a great time we will defiantly be going back next year. The staff were so helpful especially as we arrived early and they rushed our caravan through because it was very hot and we had 2 dogs. The site is so pretty and very well maintained. The caravan was very comfortable and clean but the site do not provide ashtrays and ask you to throw your butts on the floor which i did not agree with. Loved this holiday and feel many of the bad reviews are not justified please don't panic when you read bad reviews as we loved it at hopton

Just returned from this holiday park after a 3 night deal. Was bitterley disappointed when arrived at our caravan.Had chosen a standard plus as we took our pet shih tzu.Just outside the door could only be described as someone who had tipped a car ashtray into the gutter we had to step through (no lie) around a thousand fag] -------- butts and being a non smoker this was absolutely revolting. The caravan had -------- [fag burns, some king of sauce up the curtains, sink was dirty fat splashed up the blinds in kitchen (which were also rusty!!) It smelt awfull and was very tatty. So back to the check in to complain, they were quite happy to exchange but didnt seem to care of the issues i raised?? Got to second caravan not as dirty as 1st one but still not good, could not use shower as it had one temp BOILING!!! Had to fight to get out of the doors, sofa was filthy. Trying to be positive put sheets over furniture and rallied on.....In the end felt like we were slumming it so give up packed up and went home!!! Was like a nightmare would NEVER go back there, or infact any caravan park now...

Lovely park with brilliant facilities but poor entertainment. Kids club entertainers were ok and trying but it didnt really work and not a scratch on Park Resorts Staff.
Caravan lovely and clean apart from when we arrived they had forgotten to change the main bed. Good job I noticed it had been slept in as others may not check the sheets as i do! had a good hol but wouldnt rush back.

we just spent 3 days in Haven Hopton. The caravan was clean and obviously new. We knew there might not be heating everywhere but we didn't realise the bedrooms would get so cold/damp at night. In the end, our 6 years old slept with us to keep warm. I would really recommend bringing an extra duvet/blanket. The entertainement is very poor, it seems like the staff are doing their best and "having a go" but it's not really working. There isn't on site alternative to the show in the evening, just endless rows of coins / slots machines. They do have bouncy castle, crazy golf and other activities during the day for the kids. The really low point for us was the food. On the first night, we arrived later than expected and went to the pub for dinner. The food didn't taste great and was overpriced. The really low point was the food poisoning. My son ate chicken nuggets, chips and beans; he was vomiting it all from 3am till the morning and because i'd eaten a few chips from his dinner, I felt nauseous all the next day. The alternative to the "restaurant" is pizza or the couple of food catering caravans (burgers, hot dogs..)
On the whole we feel that the location is great (right on the beach) and the park has all the potential to be a great one, but because of the lack of investement/training it's not working. Won't be going there again.

Just come back from this holiday park and it was very nice, the staff have kept the place very tidy and when you talk to residents (who were also friendly) they love the place.
Entertainment was good for young kids.
Papa john's is excellent if you enjoy some food back in the van.
kids play area was very good and safe.
We didn't use the pool but it looked clean.
Bar area is nice and pleasant with friendly staff and nice range of lagers and beers

We visited this site twice this year, the first time the caravan was not cleaned properly and rubbish not removed . On our return visit our Caravan was lovely and couldnt be faulted, however , I found the staff rude, the restaurant very slow, and the daytime entertainment . activities very lapse. We still enjoed our holiday however my biggest grieviance is with Haven themselves. My son and daughter got a bug on the last day which we came straight home, after a week of severe vomitin and runs tests were done and my son had got Cryptosperidium.. this is only caught in water.. swimmin pools ! I contacted Haven - now 3 times to advise them of this , and that i suspected it was from the outdoor pool as was very dirty, and I appreciate that these things happen... HAVEN HAVE IGNORED MY LETTERS and not even bothered to reply... My son is five!! I will never go back to haven ever!
