great 30th birthday treat
from cat.purr
We were really lucky to have our stay paid for by my Fiancé's company airmiles. (Very good scheme) However the room rate would have been a little over our budget. The price seemed expensive but this is Paris. Hotel a couple of blocks from the Arc de Triomphe/Champs Elysees and a major tube station. Our room was on the top floor with balcony and view of the Eiffel Tower it can't get much better. Rue de Fabourg hosts exclusive shops if you have that kind of money to spend, but a treat to just window shop. Room was...

Extremely disappointed
from A TripAdvisor Member
When in Paris on business for the past 2 weeks, my colleague and I decided to try a new hotel. We'd never stayed in a Golden Tulip before, but the reviews seemed good and the website promising. Since we were looking for a hotel with leisure facilities (rare in France), we were booked into the Golden Tulip St Honore, its website announcing a pool and spa. Since we arrived, it has been disappointment after disappointment. The hotel's location is definitely worth more than its stars! "The spa centre of the hotel" appeared to be an external...

A good choice of hotel
from Warby40
Having stayed in several hotels in Paris, whilst on business, this has to rate as one of the better ones. I chose it due to its proximity to Champs Elysees - approx 5 mins walk, and yet it is reasonably priced. It is unusual in that many Paris hotels do not offer room service - this one does - both breakfast and a small selection of light meals. The room was a good size and bathroom was large and included a bidet. The bathroom was unusual for a hotel, in that the toilet was separate -took a bit of getting used to - turn right for the...

I Really Liked This Hotel
from lindilou
I stayed here in Dec. 2000. The room was a nice size for a Parisian hotel. The bathroom was larger than some of the other hotels that I've stayed in in Paris. A continental breakfast was included in my rate. It was fabulous! They had the usual French items, i.e. croissants, cheese, fruit, and jams. They also had cereal, ham, bacon and eggs, coffee and tea. I was very surprised because the nightly rate was very low. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but it was not very much. The location was ideal. It is a short walk to the Arch de...

P.S. You are not allowed to use the pool
from A TripAdvisor Member
I forgot to say in my review of this terrible hotel that though they advertise access to a pool and spa at special rates to hotel guests, it is a separately owned health club in the basement. We went down to use the pool and were given a schedule which showed that the pool was not available to hotel guests at any time of any day - because of aqua-gym classes, they said it has been like that for several years, and hotel guests never have access to the pool. We asked about the other services - we were told we could use the sauna for...

Barely a 1 star
from robaround
The rooms are decorated in furniture I would expect to find in a Motel 6. The air conditioning kept the room around 80 (while it was 90 outside). The tub/shower had a significant amount of mold and mildew that the staff just shrugged at. Not what I would expect for over $200 a night.
Perfectly suitable base to be a Paris tourist from
from Yellabrick
My fiancé's company booked this hotel for us when we decided to exptend one of his business trips to Paris and stay for the weekend. We were upgraded to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise. We had a kitchenet, a lounge area with a sofa bed, tv and dining table/desk area, and a small yet adequate bedroom with two single beds pushed together. The bathroom was of acceptable standard, nothing special, but no problems either. The room had a small balcony from the liunge room, although it did only look out over the side parking for the hotel,...

Shouldn't be listed as 4 stars
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel advertises itself as a 4-star hotel on its web site. I checked expedia and they recently downgraded it to 3 stars. When I visited them in July, I would have to agree with Expedia's rating. It's not terrible, but it's certainly not a 4 star. My only problem besides the rating there was that my toilet wasn;t working and they gave me the key to another room to use the toilet in the other room until they fixed the toilet.
Four star? Great location!
from Lou12
The hotel was in a great location, just off the Champs Elysee near the George V tube station. I felt the hotel did not warrant it's four star rating. The rooms were basic but nice and clean. However, my bathroom was grubby and flooded everytime you had a shower. To make matters worse there was a huge window above the bath which allowed people to see in when I had a shower (good job I was 4 floors up)! My party booked 3 rooms. 2 were as described above, one was fantastic. The nice room was very clearly a suite. If you are stopping...

I booked at Golden Tulip Washington Opera. On arrival, told they had water leak and I was to be transferred to Hotel Victoires Opera. I have since found out this a regular scam and there are lots of reports on Trip Advisor from people who have experienced the same thing.... more
