such a letdown expected great things from havens best flagship park ,went in october so expected it to be cold didnt expect that they would have tampered with all the standard caravans gas fires so you could only ever have them on the lowest poss settings, you could leave these on day n night n they still wouldnt give any heat , the staff were ignorant and rude, the swimming pool was so cold everyone was blue ,there was no hardstanding to park on so we were always covered in mud as were the caravans as there no matts ,no microwave toaster ,tin opener or any of the basic things you should have,it cost four pound to do a wash and fifteen pound to get it dry just ridiculous,no security on park so anyone could come in i would not reccomend this park to anyone dont go !!

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Primrose Valley. We booked a Superior Brand new caravan which says sleeps 6. To say it was poor was not even close. It was so tiny the cleaning equipment was stored in the bathroom. You couldn't walk around the double bed you had to climb over it and the mattresses on all the beds were so uncomfortable with the springs literally sticking out. Brand new it may have been but basic it definateley was. We tried to upgrade as soon as we checked in but were told nothing was available. The laminate flooring in the living room just topped it off with my 2year old slipping over every 2 mins. For the price we paid i expected a little more. Having said that the Leisure staff were all very helpful and my sons enjoyed all the activities we had paid for.

  • Advice: Dont expect much from your caravan unless you book a deluxe or above

Stayed here for A week, paid for An upgrade, got new caravan, and was cramped uncomfortable, no storage for any thing. Have to pay for everything, very heavy on the wallet. Tidy site, but rubbish entertainment, kids got fed up. Shop expensive. Advise to shop in supermarkets in Filey. Brochures give you the wrong impression. We thought that were getting van with deck sea view no way down gravel muddy track. I have A 16 foot touring van with better comfort and room.Spoke to one of the staff, and, he agree,d that the place could do with some of the staff going on A Hospitality cource. We have thought of complaining to manegment, but it would be A forlorn hope. We paid full whack, Got your money, so hard luck. no one listens. will NEVER use Haven again.

my kids love going here they really enjoy the night entertainment there are shows for kids and discos adults can play bingo(£1 or £2 a ticket) and theres raffles(a strip costs £5) but beware everything adds up especially if your there every night.
the funworks passes only get you into the club and swimming for free, water activities archery and wall climing etc have an extra charge and if you do not book early you will not get a place.
we found our caravan comfortable and clean the site its self is lovely.the path to beach is difficult to find but if someone points you the right way the beach is good(no shops or donkeys but only 20 min walk to filey)
my advice for a stay at primrose is take plenty or cash

We've been going on Haven Holidays for the past 8yrs on and off. This year we went to Primrose Valley (3rd visit in total) at the beginning of June.
During the last few years we've noticed a gradual downward spiral in the evening entertainment and this year it truely was shocking. This can be highlighted in one particular night which advertised a 'live act'. What we actaully got was one of the funstars coming back on his own and opening up with Robbie Williams's 'Let me Entertain You'. That did it for us, we just left the Jesters bar for the night along with over half the other people that were in there and that was only at 9.30pm. On the way out I asked a security guard what was going on regarding the poor entertainment all week and he said that Butlins had recently taken over the entertainment and that's why it's worse than ever.
Around the park has also become more expensive than ever from the food bars, to the boats, to the fair and the poxy crazy golf were the felt is ripped to shreds.
I could go on, but will finish with our caravan. We booked a standard (NO NOT A SUN HOLIDAY)and it was all paid up in April. After a 4 hour journey with 2 children we arrived and were given our keys within 5 minutes, so no complaints there. We then get to our caravan. It stunk of smoke, the blind in the bathroom was broken and the ariel lead had been cut, so no tele. In truth the caravan was disgusting.
Back to reception, complained and they offered us another at a part of the park called Eskdale. This happenened to be as far away from the beach and complex as was possible and upon glancing over a hedge next to the caravan we noticed a couple of diggers sat ready to start work at silly hour on Monday morning to start on what we were later told would be a development for a pitch and put course.
Back to reception and we were then told there were no more standard caravans left, but we could upgrade to a prestige caravan for a added cost of £100 for the week. Yeah right...we argued and they reduced it to £40. No chance, so it's back to the original caravan to wait for a manager. He arrives, agrees the caravan is a pigsty and tries to be a smart **** saying "we've offered you a hugely reduced rate to upgrade, so we have a problem". I replied that, "yes we do have a problem, we've stayed in better caravans with dogs before, have paid for a suitable caravan, you don't have one and now want us to pay extra?".
It goes on, but to cut a long story short, we eventually got a free upgrade in Rosebank, which was a prestige caravan, which was fine, but we could have done without the hassle and wasted hour and a half upon arrival.
Looking at going abroad next year.

Having served in the military for many years, enduring bad conditions with a "it has to be done attitude", i was shocked at the so called Haven Holiday Park. From the poor arrival facilities to standing in a long line of people for over 20 minutes to be served by a single barman. I was not expecting much from this campsite after reading the reviews but wanted to see for myself, yes we had the soiled nappies under the caravan, yes we too could not believe the price of on site facilities, why didnt i listen to the reviews!!!!! i did not expect to spend my holiday looking at things that could be done better, and cringing at the prices people were paying just to keep their little ones entertained. If you have the misfortune to visit here please take a look at the old chalets on the way to the beach, i stayed their as a small child some 35 years ago, rundown buildings of holidays long gone....but they didnt charge £1 a kiddies sit on ride then. To end we came we saw we will not be back again..

just spent a great week at holiday park, caravan was very clean and on a nice area of park easy walk to funworks and pools. Staff pleasant and helpfull. Would recommend this site and intend to go back again. Shop on site not too badly priced and lots of fresh bread and cakes. Watched site areas being cleaned daily. LOvely beach area.

well ive just come bk from a holiday there went 30th may to 3rd of june,,, was pouring down when we arrived, then to find cleaners still in,,which were the 2nd lot of cleaners,, they left, then we went to make the beds and one of the single bed quilts was full of dog hairs and smelt of dog, so contacted them and they changed the quilt, then when we were setting up the lounch bed, found the couch was filthy and full of dog hairs and dust, so was the fire, and the corner sides of the couch fire side and also the wardrobe side, went in the morning to be told off a chubby grey haired man, "well what do you want us to do about it" Well clean it i said!,me and the kids went out for the day, came bk, and all they had done was put a quiuilt cover over the lounge mattress, nothing else, coz we were wet again and shattered,we got ready for bed, to then put the fire on,see the dut on the fire, dust in the bathroom floor, a fork dirty a jug,i had to clean for the sake of feeding the kids,,, so took loads of pics, thinking whats the point of complaining there at reception when he had already took a list of what needed doing and obvious hadnt been done. ok it was a late deal, but should still be cleaned,, i once did cleaning for holiday places and an inspector used to come round after us,, this isnt hte case there as it was the 2nd lot of cleaners in the caravan when we arrived,,, oh and not forgetting the loo, yukk,, so complained on 3rd, have to apparently wait 28 days to hear from them, tho in mean time adding all the pics to pc and going getting them printed to,.
dirty scrubbers,, never again,, feel cleaner camping in my own tent than i did there. and travelling 4 hrs on a train to get there, just wasnt worth it after all

After reading the reviews already posted I was a little concerned about this holiday and what I would find. It was fantastic. I can not fault any of the staff from the time we arrived we had the vip treatment.
Booking in was quite easy we were put in caravan at the far end of the site and I asked if it would be possible to move nearer to the complex as it would be easier with our 2 year old granddaughter in tow without hesitation we had a caravan nearer to all the amenities. The caravan was a standard which we booked through the daily mail it was spotless and I am very fussy. It had everything we needed and I was very pleasantly surprised. The entertainment team worked day and night to entertain us all and I was amazed at how hard they worked my granddaughter fell in love with TJ and Rory is now a rock star. There wasnt enough hours in the day to do it all. We didnt get time to go swimming as we had the park to go to plus the fair and then we did painting and made sandwiches with the entertainment team which my granddaughter loved. We ventured down to the beach but I would not recommend this to people with mobility problems as it was a very steep hill to and from the beach. When we eventually got to the beach it was filthy and the propect of climbing back up the hill was not something i was looking forward to. THe only down falls I would say was the beach and no food available after 9pm at the pub. The fish and chip shop is closed in the day so its burger king on the site or a pizza. Went to Playdale farm which was about 10 minutes from the site we stayed there all day as they had loads of play areas ideal for a wet day as most things were indoors and if you go there you can feed the lambs a great experience for the kids be warned you have to pay for 2 year olds. All in all a fantastic holiday I dint want to come home thanks to all the staff at haven

we were unsure what to expect as have never been on this sort of holiday before.
On arrival we were pleasantly surprised. We had luck with the weather which was lovely and sunny however still a cold breeze from the sea!
Caravan was very clean and tidy, most items needed were there however take your own toilet roll and tea towels (the Spar on site sells most things).
Lots of activities for children, our 7 year old enjoyed them all.
However, beware the "Twister" at the fun fair if you get on as the "biggest person", my partner and a colleague there a week earlier, both sustained badly bruised ribs on the left side.
Park was clean and relatively quiet
All staff very friendly and helpful.
All in all an enjoyable experience, not sure what it would be like in normal "british" weather (rain!)

Booked a week thru sun holiday offer. Caravans all seemed pretty new, cannot fault the cleanliness of accom. didnt upgrade and glad as we found the standard 2 bedroom caravan ideal. oakmeadow 36. only issue was the heating -only 1 gas fire in lounge so the early mornings were quite chilly, take thick pjs n warm socks lol. Entertainment team (the boys) were fab, the site was huge and facilities excellent. Used the new Tesco in Filey 4 main shopping and the spar on site for bits and bobs only, due 2 it being overpriced. Didnt use the pizza place or fish n chip shops on site (Box of fish n chips £6.95!!) Used Kings pizza- deliver 2 ur caravan, they leave fliers on ur caravan and these were excellent! The facilities overall were good, we spent a fortune, but prices were in line with any holiday place really. We would def go back again, the views from the park were stunning and surrounding areas great. Recommend a visit to Whitby and bridlington.
