Well I always find fault but it was difficult to fault our break. The caravan was a superior caravan in the Holly Bank region on the park. It was excellently located close to all ammenities but in a quiet location amoungst privately owned caravans. The caravn was immaculately clean throughout. It was modern and all carpets, seating areas perfect. The children's entertainment was brilliant and they worked hard to keep the kids happy. Staff in the shop, restaurants, chip shop and pizza parlour were all helpful and polite. Yes the shop is expensive but this is the same on many sites, not just Haven. Yes some activities like crazy golf are chargeable but they were cheaper than if you had found the same elsewhere in that area. I would recommend the site on the basis of our experience. We had a fab time.
- Advice: The views from the coastal path accessable from the park are brilliant on a sunny day.

Visited Blue Dolphin late September 2010 with our 2 children aged 5 and 4 months for 3 nights through the sun holidays offer. Arrived early, about 3.10pm and were told we could check straight in which was good as we didn't feel like hanging around til 4pm. Arriving at caravan I was surprised to find I had been given a 3 bedroom, as I rang prior to the holiday to upgrade to 3 bedrooms to be told there were none available. Puzzling but welcoming.
The caravan was clean and tidy and we had plenty of kitchen utensils to be getting on with. We stayed on site most days as my 5 yr old liked to get involved with the kids activities and went to the clubroom at night which she also loved. The entertainment was good and kids seemed to enjoy it. All reps put a lot into it and were very friendly wit the children.
The pool was a bit naff though, outdoor was closed due to the season and the indoor is just a pool, no slides or inflatables or anything, only visited that once.
Didn't have very much interaction with any staff on the holiday but we didn't really need to, we just got on with it.
The only thing that let the holiday down for us was the weather, it was freezing cold, damp and rainy and the wind almost blew me away, obviously not the parks fault tho. If this was a visit in summer would have been a lot better but it was a nice little weekend away anyway. Going to Haven again this year but going down to Combe Haven in Sussex, hope this will be as good as the Blue Dolphin.

Well me and my disable wife arrived at the site with high hopes , that went down the drain after we counldn´t get a disabled grounds for the camper . Instead we were got a slot on a little hill surrounded by tents . No straight ground for setting up the camper or suitable for a person in a wheelchair , even when booked for disabled . The grounds were dirty ,rubbish and food was lying around on the site. Members of staff couldn`t be able to help us with are situation or make a difference towards getting better grounds . Facilities were so far away , it was dirty and expensive . We complained because of the situation , staff wasn´t bothered . We booked for a week we only stayed three days .Not suitable for disabled . I would never go back there even if i wasn`t disabled . Too expensive , not worth staying there for a night .
- Advice: Don´t waste your time if you are disabled or not .

Had a week camping Sept 09 - & what a fantastic time we had Me & hubby & our 18 month son, the campsite was busy but still managed to find a spot with no problems, toilets had seen better days but were clean (just the people that use them were a problem, why cant people flush when they have a poo)? Site was quiet on a night, apart from the odd drunk coming home from the bar. The only downside to the holiday was the freezing cold, dated swimming pool, but we are glad to find that the pool & toilet/shower block have been done up over the winter so we have booked again for May & cant wait.

Upon arrival were told to just go and find our own pitch. Nightmare! The most unorganised site I have ever known. Toilet block was disgusting. Potwash facilties may have well not have been there as were bad to the point that the dishes may come out more dirty than before. Don't go! You'll regret it, honestly.

We have just returned (Easter weekend) from the Blue Dolphin Park near Filey. After booking our camping break I made the mistake of reading some of the reviews on here and elsewhere - I was extremely worried about our forthcoming break with our two children to the degree of almost cancelling - We are so glad we did not- We have had a fab time - I am the most fussiest person in the universe - but this site was great.
Firstly we were camping and therfore I was very worried about the toilet/ shower blocks that we were to use- they were great- the toilets were kept spotlessly clean by the two ladies who were always in there morning and evening even on good friday making sure the facility was clean and tidy and nice and warm. Thanks to them both.
The Entertainment area was very clean, the carpets throughout are all new,the decor fine.
The food outlets - be it The Bar/Grill, Burger King or Papa Johns Pizza were all reasonably priced and staff very pleasant. The Main Bar in the Show entertainemnt area was cheaper than our local pub !!!!and the tables were kept clean and clear throughout the evening by very pleasant staff.
The young man that served us in the extremely well stocked supermarket was friendly, polite and informative.
The staff in the swimming pool were just fab - the pool was just the right temperature and the slide was enjoyed by us all- along with the Aqua Jets and the Aqua Gliders of which our children loved - the pool area was clean and tidy at all times.
We also felt that all the extra activities for the children were extremely well priced.
The sports drome staff - namely Mike - were a credit to Haven - his understanding patience and dedication to his role was 100% making our sons holiday one to remember.
WELL DONE BLUE DOLPHIN HAVEN - WE WILL BE BACK

i recently came back from Blue Dolphin Haven Park. We went for 4 nights in a basic pitch tent site.
When we first arrived things looked fab!!! Well that lasted for all of about 10 minutes, after booking in a the woman on the desk gave us the map of where we could park, we drove round to find the best pitch, the place was empty but the only places that we could pitch our tent was either right outside the sluse room or on a hill, so obviesly we opted for the hill.
The toilets on the camp site were disgusting, the key would open the door correctly so at 3am when your 5 year old is dying for the toilet it became a real issue for me, BEACH ACCSESS!!! what beach accsess, well if you call a 200 ft drop cliff beach accsess ha!
The only place you could eat on site was burur king which was rubbish, or the chippy, well after lokking at the fat that was dripping of my sisters i opted for the burger.
Apart from that it was a lovely site but i think we will be going on a different site next year.

Have just came back from my first Haven holiday and was massively disappointed. We were greeted with stale dog poo, cigarette ends & old tea bags outside of our caravan. When we got inside we had an unclean toilet ie... faeces on the outside of the toilet bowl. The cleaner had to come in twice over 2 days and when we returned from a day trip, on both occasions they had put a spot of bleach down the toilet. (NO cleaning was done.) I had to do it myself. My daughters room was in complete darkness at night for the 7 days we were there, all it needed was a bulb... again we complained twice no one came to help. I think next time I would rather pitch a tent because that area of the park was far cleaner.
