Have just returned from 2 weeks in a Prestige caravan booked through Haven. The caravan was clean and tidy, as was the park itself. The shop was well stocked with a wide range of gifts as well as food stuffs, and when our toaster broke it was replaced with a brand new one straight away by the hire shop.
Bad points. The clubs were far too hot to enjoy any entertainment and far too loud. Our caravan was not very far from the entertainment complex and the noise from the club could be heard until the early hours. The Starlight Club had a really bad smell and the tables were very sticky. There were never enough bar staff on duty in any bar with the excuse being other members had been called to another bar which was short of staff.
The restaurant was nice although the staff could do with better training i.e. clearing tables after people leave and before the next people arrive wanting to eat at the table.
Our electricity went off on one day, we reported it at 10 in the mornng and it was fixed at about 6 in the evening!! after ringing the reception twice and paying them a visit.

we stayed for 3 nights and found it generally geared for families with young children as ours were 15 and 12 they were a bit fed up with the entertainment in the evening again aimed at the younger kiddies! we found the caravan ok nice and clean, we were dreadin stayin here after reading the reviews but satisfied enough once there, the only thing bad i can say is we seemed to have inconsiderate people at the back of us who made loads of noise late into the night!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unless you dont mind living in a dirty, smelly caravan dont go!
the smell of dampness, mould and dirty sticky carpets as soon as we opened the caravan door.
the swimming pool, well it was disgusting, filthy took my son straight back out the pool after waiting about half hour to get in!!
if you fancy going for a drink in evening forget it the staff are soooo slow they almost stop!!
overall dont go!! between the cost of the caravan and the price of the drink, food etc i could have got a week all inc in spain!!!

I have just returned from a week camping in the Blue Dolphin. Well, we arrived and was then asked if I was in a tent to be told 'Good Luck' the site is very wet, I came out from reception wishing I wasn't there without even seeing my pitch. I then took a ride round the site and to say it was very wet was an understatement. When I had found the best possible pitch I reluctantly took out my tent and started to pitch it on the very muddy wet mess, why I didnt pack it back in the car and get out of there, there and then I will never know, but as the sun came out I thought maybe it would dry out. Unfortunately the weather was not down to haven, but the camping conditions were.Throughout the week the site became very flooded and the bottom part of the site was under water several times through the week, I did worry when the exit became flooded as I thought I would never get out of this hellhole. It will take me and my kids weeks to wash the dirt from our feet.
This is the worst site I have ever stayed on in my entire 30 years of camping and they charge up to £45 a night for the privalidge. The toilets were always dirty and covered in overflowing toilet paper and dirty water. After showering we became dirty within minutes of trecking over the muddy fields of mess and stench. The swimming pool was overcrowded and shallow and I felt I needed to be dipped in disenfectant after bathing in this pool never mind changing in the dirty changing rooms.
The entertainment to be fair was good, however trying to get a drink from the very very unfriendly and rude bar staff was another thing. Gangs of youths hung out at this complex and I did feel like I was on the roughest housing estate in the country. I did fear for my family's safety on this site.
How we survived a week in this place is beyond me, My £300 tent is wrecked beyond belief, I had to bundle it in bin bags to get it home and when I took it down needed a shower to rid me of the mud that covered me from head to toe.
Why people return to this site year after year is beyond me, I think haven management she take a stay on this touring site and experience what we did, I could never ever ever recommend this site to anyone and have to say it should be shut down or used as a Prison Camp!!!
An experience never to be forgotten, sorry haven you got it wrong with this one.

we have just had the break from hell at this place 1st caravan
full of mould big patches every where from celling to floor even on beds/curtains
the smell alone made ever1 sick or just the food ?
dead insects/flies and even 1s still crawling the all place was just walkin
even the windows and doors didn't close just gaps everywere
complained and nobody seemed bothered that the place was just a s***h### (i wouldn't even put a dog in there)
all slept in car first night because it was that bad
had to wait for new van got the second one the following afternoon it was alot better and didn't smell as bad but still not what you expect from this company
so lost 2 days on a 3 night break so not much of a break and will not be going back just wished i took my wifes advise and gone straight back home the same day (300m for nothing but sickness and now a bad back)
and this was suposed to be 1 of the better models of van hate to see what the lower ones were like

My caravan was at the side of the entertainment complex which was ideal during the day but not at night. The air conditioning had broken down in the club so all the fire doors were left open which was on the same side as our caravan so we had six hours of pumping, vibrating music. I asked them at least three times each night if they could possibly shut the fire door nearest to my caravan because the noise was so loud the floor would vibrate. They would shut it until my back was turned and then opened them wide again. Some would say, don't worry about the noise just have a lie in, in the morning. Ha! No chance because the bin men would arrive around seven in the morning, followed by alcohol deliveries. I made a formal written complaint after five days and wasn't given a copy which I thought was a bit strange. I was also supposed to be contacted by this manager after returning home to discuss action taken from the complaint but guess what.... no contact so far. I was so fed up of the attitude of the manager I left early, in tears and very angry. We did speak to some caravan owners who said they had asked them to turn the music down as it was too much and was again greeted by the same attitude. It is a shame because I went to the Blue Dolphin as a child and had a great time and had hoped my kids would have had an equally good time.

I had the complete and utter misfortune to stay at this Haven site in August 2006.As a direct result of the combination of appalling facilities, disinterested staff, rundown caravan, dirty scruffy site, overpriced bars/food outlets and dreadful weather-the revelation came to me-AVOID HAVEN HOLIDAYS LIKE THE PLAGUE!
I had previously stayed at Primrose Valley-ok but not brilliant,Hafan Y Mor - good the first time but dreadful the second and Prestahaven Sands-ok,and was actually giving Haven "a last chance" with Blue Dolphin. How I wish I hadn't bothered.
Hordes of foulmouthed black garbed teenaged teens tanked up on illicit booze, groups of potbellied tattooed heavy smokers (and that was just the women) all clutching the Sun whilst effing and blinding at dear little Demi-Lee or Tyler - not a good mental image is it?
It cost us a fortune in drinks-we ended up taking in our own the prices were so inflated. The onsite "supermarket" was a rip off-go to Filey - much cheaper and more choice. The constant moneymaking scams from relentless gaming machines/merchandise were irritating after the first 24 hours. It was like something off the TV programme "Shameless"
Never again will I inflict Haven on myself or my family. The standard of people it appeals to is obviously below working class-it must be scum class. As a direct result of staying here-it was always cold, the pool was tiny and subzero with woefully inadequate showering/changing facilities-I have discovered the joys of going abroad with the family now-it doesn't cost much more, staff have manners and the sun always shines.
I have only given this place 1/10 because there wasn't an option to give it 0.I pity the herd who haven't yet seen the light........

Just came back from Scrounge Dolphin today =] We booked our caravan from the select caravans site (just google it because if you go here you want a decent van) The van was nice although a bit close to the feild where people camp in their own tents. The people in these tents seem to not give a crap when coming back late from a night out as the amount of swearing I heard while TRYING to sleep was a bit much! It seems to be chavland at the site, gangs of youths everywhere. Im a youth myself i suppose being 21 but i dont get the whole hanging round outside the shops in gangs thing, whats the point?
The site
seemed to be clean, the bins were emptied often. They used the galaxy bar for people checking in instead of reception which was stupid! Imagine carrying heavy luggage through a maze of slot machines with screaming little brats and chavs on them. When we got there because we booked privately we had to then make our way to the reception which was "over there" *does peter kay tenerife pointing impression*, we were also told "over there" by the spotty haven guy outside the bar who looked a bit stoned to be honest. So then we made a great journey to the reception to get the key.
Places to eat
Burger king is good as you know what you're getting. But, as my mums bloke was ordering the woman seemed to get confused so I said "I think you're confusing her kev" and the "lovely" woman replied "yeah, you are" in a really nasty tone. The fish and chips are disgusting! Just dont go there! The smugglers bar food was ok though =]
Facilities
Everything is so expensive! Go karts £3.50 for a single cart for 6 mins....you're having a giraffe mate! Learn archery and wotnot...£5 an hour, you will not learn these new skills in 1 hour so whats the point? We hired a hairdryer cuz the one in our van was broken and it cost us £10 to hire for the week and then ANOTHER £10 deposit!!!!!
If you do choose to go though then the site is good to use as a base as there is the 120 bus which leaves from right outside the park and goes to Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough and they are all nice days out =] You may want to go and do your shopping in a supermarket in Scarborough aswell if you self cater as its cheaper =] There is also days out which you can pay for. We went to York for the day and it was brilliant! The bus driver even gave us talks about the history of some of the places on the way back and drove past where the Royal is shot =]
ways you could pay to have a good time:
*rob a bank
*sell your house, car and dog
*go to Primrose valley instead =] its bigger

I can't believe the reviews are so mixed for this place. The people who like it obviously have very low standards and are oblivious to the dirt. I have never been anywhere with such filthy and poorly maintained communal areas. The soft play wasn't cleaned over night (even though it is only open 6 hours a day!) the pool area was dirty, locks didn't work in changing rooms, showers weren't working. Every surface we touched in the bar area was sticky. And the kids club - what a joke - on "making day" the 1-4 year olds were given a box of naff toys to play with on the dirty dancefloor, while the 5-12 year olds were given one sheet of paper and some crayons to draw a fish. What happened to paint, pasticine etc as the brochure says? The Park seems to be run by a bunch of kids doing the minimum work to get by. I'd never go to this Park again and to be honest it has put me off trying any other Haven Parks. My letter of complaint is on its way...

Well I booked this holiday for 150 pound 4 nights family of 5 staying in a superior 2 bed caravan. After I booked it, i read some of the reviews and must admit started to regret making the booking!! But when we got there, we weremet by a member of staff who guided us to check in, we were then given our info pack and linen and followed the map to our caravan. The caravan was very clean and tidy, so was the linen. They leave you a detailed information booklet about things to do, places to go and services they provide, which we found very helpful. The site itself was very clean, and just looked like the other haven sites we have visited. Staff were very helpful, (we had our electrics blow at 10pm and we rang security and they fixed immediatley) and there is plenty to do for kids of all ages. The only bad things were, cold fry up! soft play area not very well supervised (big kids squashing babies!) and the night entertainment people were just laughing and joking between themselves, not very entertaining! but all in all cant argue for the price!

Fantastic park, we all had a great time. Entertainment was good and food adequate, but the staff were all fantastic. We will be coming back soon, and may even look to buy a caravan as they look fantastic and we have been talking to someone that owns and they love it and come every weekend. 10/10 for fun!

Have returned from a short break at Haven Blue Dolphin, which was booked through the Sun Newspaper. The accommodation was surprisingly good, bearing in mind other comments I have read on this website. It was clean, no smells anywhere, and fairly well maintained for an older style caravan. We were obviously lucky. It was very cold, having only the old gas fire in the lounge area, no heating in bedrooms, but it was late October, and it was exceptionally cold, we even had snow whilst there. The windows in the 2 twin bedded rooms didn't actually close properly so it was icily cold in those, but we solved that by 2 of us sleeping in the lounge area, as there were only 4 of us, but had someone had to sleep in those rooms in those weather conditions, we would have had to get it sorted. The check in system is awful. The lowlifes (us) on cheap sun breaks are all herded together to wait until the staff say we can form a queue to get our keys. It was like waiting for Tesco's to open on christmas eve. What was wrong with the old system of going to reception? Except that you didn't have to pass through the amusements and food/drink places. And what do reception do now? They even had a box on the wall for you to drop your keys in when you left, which is what myself and other guests did. I assume they are only there to deal with problems, and a good park shouldn't really have many of those. Didn't use the daytime facilities, as were out and about, well wrapped up though! The club in the evening was OK,the entertainment staff do work hard, although have to agree with previous comments, it really did smell horrible in there. If you sat too near to the bar area, you ended up feeling queasy after a while. Also agree with previous comments about money making. Kids entertainment went on very late, something about a sweet factory, then they sold around 3 different types of sweets at £1 a time. Luckily our kids are older. Didn't try the restaurant or park takeaway, due to previous experience on Haven Parks. Their breakfasts have to be the worst I have ever tasted. Did eat at Burger King which was more reliable and was OK. Overall not a bad holiday for the price, but improvements could be made which would benefit all customers, even ones paying a higher price.
