We have just arrived back from a week at Combe Haven, which to be honest I was dreading after reading some of the reviews on here, but we had a fantastic time, the staff were lovely, the caravan was lovely & clean, the park was nice not loads to do but plenty of places outside the park to visit this maybe being the only downside, the evening entertainment was really good & all in all we all throughly enjoyed our stay. Thankyou so much to all the staff for making it a lovely holiday was well worth travelling over 200 miles too!!
- Advice: enjoy & do not be put off by people who put bad reviews on.

This is an honest review with advice from a regular Haven Holiday Maker:
When arriving on site our check in was good. We got upgraded to a better location (always ask for parking beside the caravan) Our accommodation was VERY GOOD.
HOWEVER when got out of the caravan and went to explore our first impressions were POOR! In comparison to the many other haven parks we have been to, the facilities at Combe Haven are NOT GREAT! The indoor pool is SMALL. The outdoor pool is COLD and the activities are expensive and not value for money. However the Slide was AWESOME! Our holiday got better as one evening Jamie Archer from XFACTOR Performed. He was Great! We found that there are VERY FEW other activites on the Park. Most activities were fully booked. The staff at the Mash and Barrel and the Security at the funworks were VERY RUDE and UNHELPFUL. However most of the other staff were PLEASANT!
All in all I WOULD NOT recommend THIS park.
However I would HIGHLY recommend HAVEN HOLIDAYS. Parks such as Primrose Valley and Great Yarmouth! Thanks
- Advice: Ask for parking near to caravan

I went to combe haven in 2009 and had a great time, they do all sorts of fun live shows and children can enter talent shows and get the chance to be a show presenter for the night! lots of free facilitys such as swimming pools and shows but things like go carts and water zorbing to ask for a small charge but are very reasonaball. I get what people say when the talk about dirty caravans and ignorant receptionists, some caravans are privately owned and are letted out to haven for use but the majority are owned by haven. What you have to remember is that there are loads off caravans and rooms to clean and sometimes yours might not be first on the list. As for the recepcionists i think that they are only able to deal with minor issues and need more training or something. If you have a complaint its best to tell the cleaners or ring the board! Overall i had a lovely time with my family and am looking foward to staying in a presige carravan this weekend! I would tell anyone to go there,if you want a good deal for your money and fairly good quality accomadation then go to come haven!!!!!!

Have just holidayed at combe haven holiday park. The caravan (deluxe) was immaculte. Cleaned well throughout. The pool complex is second to none. Entertainment was great for the kids and there is plenty to do on the park during the day.
Would not normally write this type of thing, but was put off by all the bad reviews before i left.
But i must say i was pleasently suprised, and myself, partner and 4yr old son thorughly enjoyed. Would recommend a holiday at combe haven to everyone.

Earlier in the year i had visited another Haven park and stayed in a Deluxe caravan, this holiday we had booked for a whole week and decided to go for a prestige caravan......well on arrival i walked in to caravan and can catagorically say there is no way this was a Prestige caravan..... Firstly there were no shelves in bedrooms they had quite clearly been broken off and we did find the broken shelf units in the boiler cupboard
next the seating around the table was all broken, you would fall into the base every time you sat on it, and then just trivial things like having the furniture made of metal rather than wood and old patterns on the furniture upholstery which are the ones adverstised for Superior caravans i did start to wonder.
I was so dissapointed i really enjoyed our fist holiday in our deluxe caravan in great yarmouth but hastings was like walking back in time 20 years. Hastings to be honest wasnt much better it was old fashioned and the pier had been burnt down, the pirates adventure was good i would reccomend visiting that attraction.
i was truly dissapointed, the caravan was not a prestige but quite obviously a really old superior caravan, the TV was not tuned in luckily the switch over hadn,t happened yet so we at least got some analogue channels, and just generally the site was very impersonal and you didnt feel completly relaxed.
my opinion:
Hastings Wastings don't bother

Our caravan was clean and adequate but on the second day of our stay we had ants crawling all over the kitchen area. We complained to reception and was told that somebody would be round to deal with it. Nobody came. We complained every day to the different people on reception but nobody cared. In the end we went to Tesco and got our own ant powder.
Also, the swimming pool is freezing - this seems to be a common feature at Haven parks - they're too mean to heat the pools. :(
- Advice: Take a bucket and spade - the beaches are shingle but there is plenty of sand when the tide is out.

I am looking to book again for the 3rd time. The caravans are clean and well presented through out. The reception is well organised. You can't fault the children's entertainment. My kids loved it. Overall we really enjoy it at Combe Haven and i would recommend to people with little children.
My only negative point i would state is that there are no toilets in the restaurant or entertainment hall you have to walk out through the arcade to get to the loos.

We were very upbeat about our holiday. Having taken a chance and booked a super sun deal holiday we were not expecting a top of the range modern caravan. We had a pleasant journey down, travelling nearly 4 hours to St Leonards. On arrival the camp didnt look too bad, sun was shining and we were happy to arrive. I went to reception at 3;40 to be told 'come back at 4 its not ready until then'. Fine, no issue. We got a drink and enjoyed the weather. I went back shortly after 4 and got the key - as suspected we were a fair way from amenities but yes we expected we would be.
We arrived at our caravan, me my partner and 22 month old daughter and were a little shocked at the position of our caravn (dead end, under trees, no light), but hey dont judge a book and all that! So I ventured inside - oh boy this got a whole lot worse. Where do we start???
Dirty dirty dirty - we spent 10 minutes wiping the floor to find dog hair, human hair, pubic hair, tobacco, fingernails (yes yuck) talc, food, leaves and a variety of other debris. The bed felt damp, springs coming through mattress - obviously being udner the trees it saw no light. We left the fire on all night and it didnt even help!! We complained immediately and were told it was an upgrade - you are seriously joking??????????
We were offered an upgrade but would have to wait until everyone had checked in to see availability - funny there was shed loads available when they tried making me upgrade the day before we arrived - funny that!! We deposited the 20 or so flash wipes in reception - they admitted it had not been cleaned very well. Or at all me thinks (how many dead flies can there be in a window??)
We were given a £25 food voucher - suprisingly the food was good in the Mash and Barrel.
We ended up booking into a travelodge in Hastings - we chucked a load of food away as we didnt want to cook in the place. What a waste. It needed condemning - we were told by a bloke who came to clean the windows that it was sub let by Haven and was ownded by a woman and a very very large black dog....... perhaps Haven should actually look at what the are sub-letting. The receptionist informed us it was there oldest unit. Basic we do - dirty is a no no. To top it off - the grill didnt work so no toast, the toilet and sinks got blocked and a potentially lethal knife was removed - the handle was broken and the blade fell out! Crockery was dirty, the list is really endless,.
Will never return to a Haven site and have made sure I tell everyone I know how bad it was. Travelling all that way with a young child to get to something like that ruined what should have been a nice break. BTW Travelodge was less than £30 for a night - cheaper to do this and add on an entertainments pass if you want the pool and activities. :)
The old saying 'You get what you pay for is so very true'
Haven??? More like Hell
- Advice: Book into a cheap travelodge and just use the camp for entertainment and activities

No problem at all with my mid week break at Combe Haven, The mash and barral is a modern clean and comfortable environment plus great food. my only complaint would be that a comedian (Scotty Miller) had a little boy from the audience up on stage dancing with him at the end of this he thought it was funny to ask the boy if he would like a xbox for helping him and the boys face lite up and Scotty Miller then took out a eggs box and span it round in the air and called it a eggsbox 360 a joke at the boys expense (not funny) but although I was disappointed, the following night Jamie Archer from the Xfactor performed, and wow he was fantastic the atmosfear in the clubhouse was incredible a night to remember, I would definitely go back there
