Stayed recently at Perran Sands. The platinum caravan was great with a lovely view. The Haven site was very clean and the entertainment was superb. The children enjoyed numerous free activities such as free water confidence , free fencing, and free archery lessons. Further chargeable activities can be booked if needed. Some areas of the park where the caravans are based are nicer than others. The Funstars do a wonderful job and keep the entertainment going from day to night. The live acts were also very good, and the refurbished entertainment venue is very nice. The beach is fantastic and is accessed directly from the site, down a fairly steep concreted path. The path looks far worse than it actually is, and it only takes about 5mins to get to the beach. The climb back up was also alot quicker than we thought it would be. We saw some elderly people (1 with a stick) and young children using the path with no problems. The caravan site is very near to Perranporth, which you can walk to over the dunes, or otherwise is a 5minute drive away. The site is very relaxing, great for walking, and great for the beach. Will definitely return to this site.

I visited Haven Hols a few years back and had a pitbull walking loose from caravan next door and had to stop my daughter skipping outside. Reception said if bredding doesnt fit perfectly within dangerous dogs act breeding there's nothing they can do. Had similar dogs in the bar/outside restaurant area too. Not relaxing holiday at all. Shame really as much of the rest was good.
Had considered giving them a second shot but after visiting this site I very much doubt I will ever pay for another Haven Hols 'in-experience'.

Just spent a great time in Cornwall based at the Haven site. The site and caravan was great, shame about the beach which was a disgrace. The town end and beach was fine, and Haven clean the bit by their steps, however they then dump it in a big pile up the beach. The beach beyond Haven is filthy with rubbish, even a dead rat. I know most of it is washed in by the sea. But this is a premier beach for the area, surely somebody should clean it daily and remove it. Last year holiday'd in Wales near Barmouth. Not as many visitors and a wilder area, same problem, but cleaned daily.

halloween weekend end of october 2010.
my daughter booked the weekend for 6 adults and one small child. on arrival check in was maddness. (but was to be honest the only way to accomodate the volume of people) we had a standard caravan (on booking the only upgrade open to us was the best option of an additional £10 per head / night which made the option unrealistic)
standard means basic poor condition very used condition accomodation. caravan was a 35ft " 3 bedroomed" caravan. i small double and 2 x tin can sized twin micro bedded rooms - as a 6ft 3 guy i did not fit in any of the beds, and spent 3 nights onthe living area floor. carpets were dirty and wet... clenliness of the caravan was barely acceptable - bottom line was we were very disapointed with what we experienced. but it was a cheep sun break weekend - so if you want more - dont book a weekend away in a haven site staying in standard accomodation as that is what it means in reality - VERY BASIC

We arrived at Perran Sands with anticipation due to 'bad' reviews about this site!! We were totally pleased with the accommodation (standard) it was clean and acceptable. We were actually pleasantly surprised with our caravan. The site is set in fantastic surroundings, so very beautiful, food was very generous in the on site pub, we will definately visit again...excellent wish we had booked to stay longer!!

After reading some of the poor reviews, I must say I am very suprised as me and my partner have been two years in a row (last June and this June) and we had a fantastic holiday.
We stayed for 2 weeks, in a Superior Caravan, this year we were thrilled when we parked up and realised we had been upgraded to a Prestige! Cleanliness of the caravan was brilliant. Some of the parts to the oven, such as the grill tray were missing but we popped down to reception and these items were supplied to us shortly after.
The site is beautiful, well layed out and lots to do for the children. The showbar was lively every night, and the take-away resturants such as Burger King & Papa Johns were good (A little more pricey than normal resturants, but only to be expected on a holiday site)
Entertainment was good each night with different shows on for the children such as the R&B gameshows & party dances, and lots of adult entertainment including a magician, contortionist and singers. The shows put on by the Haven staff were fab!
We only used the swimming pool once or twice as we didn't have much time as we were so busy visiting the attractions in the West Country. Healys Cornish Cyder Farm for Cream Tea & Scones is a must!!! :-) but the pool was clean and there were always lifeguards supervising.
The beach was only a short walk from our caravan which was perfect for us, and we also visited the village of Perranporth, 5 minutes in the car to go down to the shops. We also found it useful to drive down into Truro to get our larger shops for the week as there is a Co-Op store.
Definately a recommended site for family holidays, and as a couple we loved it! We were tempted to go back for a third year but thought we would try something different as we have now visited every attraction in the West Country! We are off to Devon Cliffs in June 2011 and have high expectations :-)
Brilliant holiday!!!!!

I will keep it all very brief. Site is very well laid out in the sense of amenities being close to one other. Entertainment is well rehearsed, great for the 2-9 age groups. Fun stars a good. But not all are singing from the same song sheet. I found some of them out of their depth. It is a fine line to being a children’s entertainer and a prat, or too cool for that type of thing. The prices a bloody expensive. Why have such high prices? There are enough willing people out to enjoy a pint or 3. Peak season is challenging. Few pick-ups. We were camping and with 100 odd tents with at least 3 average per tent= approx 300-400 people trying to go for a poo in the morning. (Sorry but true). And only 5 operating toilets at any 1 time is crazy...And dangerous. Small people cannot control the inevitable. Sorry but a big mark down on that. And something should be done about the shows too. Not enough and no family rooms. This would ultimately save time and frustration. Just a point. All in all not a problem with staff. Accommodation fine (Tent). Focus on cost of beer. (The cost of the holiday should bring down the beer prices) and get some work done on the blocks. Remember you should cater for the worst case scenario i.e. PEAK Season.!!!!

perrin sands havens incredible camp site is fantastic for kids and adults, not so much for teenagers unless they drive and can get into newquay.
the family entertainment is first class for kids, but bar prices are high so be warned.
the arcade is a magnet for all the kids so take a lot of change.
the park is safe and clean in the more expensive ends ,
we went with the sun and got an upgrade , when we got our first van it had cig dimps out side....no good told the staff and they changed us to a really clean part of the site, very helpfull staff.
the more you pay the better the acomadation i find with haven.
a great holiday but its not cheap and you need to be able to drive to see around cornwall as the park is situated in the middle of no where.
the slide in the indoor water park is fantastic and the pool area is very safe and clean.
the park has its own burger king do avoid this place as its so overpriced its scary, the pub shows live matches and there is a reasonable gift shop.
get out and about to newquay and st micke mounts lots of things to do st ives is up the road its a great place to go.
....true old fashioned middle cllass clientel holiday.

Awful, dirty and dated not to mention smelly. We stayed in a hut (chalet) at the bottom of a hill, when it rained the water surrounded our hut. The smell of damp hit you as soon as you came in. Lighting was a joke, no bed side lamps very dim over head lighting. Not enough plug sockets. Not enough plates or knives. Swimming pool too small for the amount of people using it. My advice is stay somewhere else. We came home a day early as we had had enough. Peran Porth itself is a lovely place. Pity we had such a let down holiday .

Had read alot of reviews in the weeks leading up to our holiday and got a bit worried. Lots of complaints about bad accommodation and uncaring staff. With children aged 6, 3 and 9months I decided to upgrade our caravan to Prestige as had had a bad experience last year with another park. Arrived 10 mins before check in ( at 2.30) had to wait to exactly 2.30 but staff were very cheerful and quick to check you in with clear instructions on how to find our caravan. Pulled up to a fab little cul-de-sac which was very new and close to all the amenities. Caravan was fantastic with great little kitchen and 2 toilets! Unfortunately travel cot would not fit into a bedroom easily (which had been expected) but we took down 1 bed and fitted it into 1 of twin rooms, which meant we didn't all have to go to bed at the same time as the baby had she been sleeping in front room! Carpet was a bit dirty which was a big problem for us as we obviously had a baby crawling around, I popped down to reception and asked if some one could come and Hoover it and 2 lovely ladies arrived within 20mins and did so quite happily. I ended up getting it hoovered a few times over the week. Swimming pool and its surrounds were lovely and clean and fresh looking only problem was 1 day the water had been lovely and warm and another day it was absolutely freezing!! Arcades were great fun evening entertainment was enjoyed by all!! The cafe/restaurant was really nice, great food, friendly staff never had to wait long for food. Yes the shop was expensive but they always are on holiday parks. The beach was beautiful but a real trek down to it and coming back up was horrendous we only made it down there the once which was a shame as we had a great time when we were there. Overall a fab holiday and I would recommend the park to anyone but maybe pay a bit more for higher graded accommodation.

we arrvied at haven on the 15/5/09 with my partner and son checked in fine and quickly. we started to put up tent and started to unload later that nite when we decided to go sleep my son did not lik it as it was raining hard and also really windy and he was crying alot. so we decided to see if we could up grade. so went up to secruity who helpfully pointed us into the rite direction. the staff than up graded us to shally which they done for free which we was very gratefull for on the saturday i lost my phone at the arcade. the reception rang up my muym saying that they have my phone i did not recive this till the sunday as my other phone was dead. so the sunday i got the message. i went down to pick my phone up at around twelve and they said that coud not find it an would carry on looking if i would like to come back later and get it so around 3 o'clock we went back to see if they had found it and was very dissappointed when the staff turned around and said that they still cant find it and i will have to come back before we leave which was at 5. so we packed up the car and went down there to see if they found and was very surprised when they turned around and said that they have give it to someone else by acccident they said that the person who lost the phone can come back and say the make off the phone and they show them all the phone and they can say which one is theres i thought this was bad customer service but we are planning going again soon as this was the only bad thing about it

Iv stopped here a few times with my girlfriend and my son we always go for a prestige caravan cause the heating in the bedrooms every time we go there we have a wicked time and my son enjoys it more everytime being to a few haven sites and this is the best by fair in my opinion
