I ve just returned from a week here in a party of 2 adults and 6 children. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday here-Tenby is a beautiful place and Kiln Park is in a fantastic location, a path leads directly through the dunes to Tenbys beautiful south beach (although the path isn t very buggy friendly because of the thick sand at the end). We ve been to several Haven parks, most recently Devon Cliffs and Rockley Park, and whilst Kiln Park had the best location and beach, I felt the facilities weren t as good as the other parks we ve visited-nothing major, just a few minor niggles. The parking was a bit of a pain, as parking on the grass is not allowed, and often the spaces near our caravan were all taken. The facilities are all quite spread out rather than contained in one entertainment complex which was a bit inconvenient as the kids often all wanted to do different things. The new mash and barrell is nice-very roomy and comfortable, food, service and prices were average. It s a shame that they didn t add a kids play area in the adjoining enclosed garden, as there is nothing for the little ones to do whilst waiting for food etc, and I found that mine were constantly trying to leg it out of the doors to the play area in the arcade-not very good for a relaxing drink/meal! The indoor pool is absolutely tiny compared to the size of the park. The onsite security seemed a bit lacking, although there are cameras everywhere-on our first night a full blown row/fight erupted right near our caravan but security were nowhere to be seen-a bit worrying really. All in all though, we had a very enjoyable holiday, would return to Tenby in the future, but would be tempted to try Lydstep Beach rather than Kiln Park

Having read some reviews I was anxious about camping here but everything was fine in the end. The staff were helpful. We camped near the shower/ toilet block which was handy with small children. It was pretty busy but obviously not high season. The toilets and showers were cleaned on a regular basis. When it was dry the outdoor pool was open. The indoor pool was fine but there are no showers available after swimming there. The playgroung is handy. The shop a little expensive. The entertainment at night was great. The children loved it too. Those entertainers, the funstars, work so hard from morning to night as far as I could see and the children looked forward to seeing them each evening. The kids clubs were enjoyable on wet days. The indoor play area beside Mash and Barrell was very handy for keeping the small kids amused while waiting for dinner to be served in the restaurant. For campers who like to cook it is hard to get a supermarket open after 6pm in the evening in Tenby. The walk from the campsite to the beach is handy and then it is nice to walk along the beach to Tenby. The ice cream restaurant Tenby, I think it is called Feccis, is well worth a visit. Tenby has a great buzz on the street in the evenings and it a lovely town to just walk around. There is plenty for families with children to do in the area. There are leaflets/ brochures on all of these at reception. We had a lovely holiday there. I would go back.

We arrived here at half 12 after setting of at half 5, reception staff were a bit snotty but could be that we were tired, they told us we could pitch our tent anywhere in the poppy field, which was cool, so we found a lovely spot near the toilet block, which was lucky! weather was brill apart from being windy.
The toilets were ok, bit smelly, but there were loads of campers there so to be expected, showers were better then wat i thought, but could do with a refurb. shop expensive but v nice staff, never ventured to the entertainment, only on the first day to get a burger king, but loadsa arcardes n stuff for kids.
i would recommend goin in to tenby its the best town ever. lovely pubs with nice food for the evening, and also recommend going to caldey island £10 for adults on a little boat, n its lovely over there, with the best beach ever, but u can only stay till like 5pm. x

Park had just opened and you could see that there were a few teething problems. Electricity kept going off, but was constantly being fixed and rectified.
We went to the complex to collect the keys, and were told that they were not ready until 2.30pm, so we went to look at the new mash n barrell for some lunch. Food service was prompt, and food was nice, much better than last year which seemed to be very much "ping food" (microwaved) this was clearly cooked...
On getting to the van we were really happy very clean, modern and It actually looked like a new van, we had ot paid for this so that was a bonus. Linen was not in the van but when I went to the office they gave it to me straight away. No kettle in the van but that was brought to us within 10 mins of calling the office.
Beer a little overpriced but isn;t it always on holiday parks, Shop closed a little early for my liking, 5pm closing, and we went to get milk at 5.30. this said they do have a garage at the entrance to the park that is open till 10.
Children loved character storytime, and were really happy with the entertainment overall.
Staff were really friendly. over all really happy with the holiday

There are five, two adults, three kids, having just returned from an overnight stay, as we couldn't stay longer due to; the offensive odour from what was sopposed to be a gold standard caravan, it was filthy, the carpets were stained and smelt terrible.
The van was in a shabby state, nothing like the brochure states, no luxury, or even basic cleanliness was to be found. It was gold, because it was 12ft wide and had heating in the bedrooms!!! dosent have to be clean or have everything working ie the shower extractor broken, beeding off the furniture, no grill pan, no beds made up for arrival, in fact no bedding to be found, that came hours after we "been there after complaining. We did speak to reception, who assurred us the caravan had been cleaned. That wasn't the case as the smell was terrible and there was items left from a previous family, wont go into too much detail as I'll be here all night!!!! WHAT A disappointment, we got a refund but that isn't enough, complained to head office and awaiting a reply.
KID1. Sammie: I agree with the above, plus I was awoken at 1:00am to hear swearing and noisy people walking past the caravan shouting and being very vulgar.
KID2. I'm really sad that the van was horrible, I was looking forward to my holiday.
KID3. ARKY. I hated the Havan site because it was foul and there was a massive line for the pool it was annoying... don't go there.

I went with my partner and two children for a long weekend camping, what a lovely place it is. Thats Tenby I'm talking about, gorgeous beaches amazing surroundings and lots to do. Weather was fantastic picked a perfect weekend only thing that let it down was camp site, tents were cramped in to close to each other, well overloaded site. The showers were cold and very dirty then I find when you come out shower to be greeted by two men cleaning the toilets out ,which were also horrible and smelling. The overall camp was ok but did expect more from it, worst Haven site I've been on.

I have given Kiln Park 1 out of 10 and will be giving it a miss in the future. I never put reviews of holidays on the net but I've made an exception for this one.
- On arrival the caravan was dirty. There was thick dust everywhere things left under the bed it just hadn't been cleaned.
- When we complained they sent a member of the cleaning team around who was rude and had an attitude, he said he would send someone round then stormed off!.
- The indoor pool is tiny nowhere near big enough for the amount of people staying in the site.
- There was a queue for the pool every single day.
- God knows how many people stay at kiln park but they only got about 10 lockers.
- The smallest drop of rain or even a dark cloud and the outdoor pool is closed.
- The staff in the complex look like they've got the weight of the world on there shoulders. They didn't smile, they are very slow as if they just can't be bothered and they got a lot of attitude.
- There's just not enough room for everyone in the bars, they just haven't catered for everyone on site.
- The food is crap and expensive.
I'm gutted writing a review like this about a site i had such a good time at when i was a nipper, but it's got to be said! Anyone thinking of going to kiln park DON'T.
For those of you reading this review don't let it put you off Tenby. Tenby is a very nice place with plenty to do with some cracking beaches, just stick to the B&Bs and avoid Kiln Park.

Kiln park is a remote and BEAUTIFUL place, there are lots of things for little ones and tons for teenagers and adults. It is PEACEFUL and RELAXFUL at this BRILLIANT park. I have been going for many years thanks to the YCs with my disabled father, it is wheelchair friendly and the staff helpful. Kiln Park is the only real break my sister gets and she adores the place, wanting to come back year after year. The caravans are warm, comfortable and clean. On occassion they have had slight dirt but nothing you can't get rid of yourself quickly. The rooms are well sized for a caravan and up to high standards.
I would recomend Kiln Park to anybody -whether on a budget or not- who was thinking of going on holiday.
I love the place and am looking forward to visiting it again this year.

On arrival to Kiln Park we tried to check in at reception, only to be told we need to go to the Showbar to check in, 1 hour later we have the keys.
Silver caravan. Parking space near to caravan at a premium, spoke to reception and were told if we paid £20 admin fee we could move to another caravan with parking space, we refused.
Found caravan to be much lived in, stuff left under beds, blinds dirty, dead insects by windows and food left in cupboard, but accepted it. Caravan on edge of site and long walk to entertainment and beach with pushchair no pavement so walking on road i.e. not safe.
Site - seemed very clean
Entertainment - children’s ok. Adults very poor.
Pool - indoor very small not much to it, most lockers out of order.
Outdoor looked ok, did not use.
On site food - very poor not recommended. Go into Tenby, plenty of good restaurants better value.
Overall felt let down and will not go to Kiln Park again.

This was the first time we had been to Kiln Park and it will definitely be the last.
What a complete letdown, I booked & paid in full in October 2006, but when I saw the state and where it was sited, we just felt like we had been an afterthought and stuck up the corner out of the way.
I was not happy, the caravan was right at the end of the park next to the petrol station, it was stuck right up a corner under trees, there was no grass next to the caravan for the children to play on, it was just mud.
When we got in the caravan we hadn't even got the basic facilities you expect. There were 8 of us but only 5 pillows & 4 duvets, no sweeping brush, the lights didn't work in the kitchen, hallway and the one outside was also broke. The mattresses on all the beds were soaking wet underneath.
I reported all these problems to reception. Every day we were there and kept being promised things would be put right, they weren't.
A man came to fix the outside light on the Monday and told us it was a special type of bulb which he hadn't got with him & he'd return the next day to fix it, we never saw him again.
The children loved the outside swimming pool but on the Tuesday it was filthy & cold, when we asked the lifeguards why it was so cold, he said they hadn't put the heating on as there weren't enough people using it.
On the Wednesday a helicopter turned up with people from head office to look around and surprise surprise the pool was spotless and the heating on, the staff we had seen around the site up until then had been sitting in their vans at the top of the close we were on, obviously skiving as they didn't even bother to get out of the cars but on Wednesday they were all so busy it was unbelievable.
As for entertainment, what entertainment? There wasn't any! The club isn't even big enough to hold the amount of people staying on the site; it doesn't bode well when you get to the club to see a security man on the door with a counter checking how many people were going in.
I have booked with Haven for many years but usually at Seashore in Great Yarmouth, that site is well maintained and the staff fantastic, needless to say that is where we will be going in future.
This is one site I will never return to. If you're thinking of booking please think again as you will surely be disappointed!

Haven Holidays Caravan Holiday at Kiln Park, Tenby, Wales.
Me, the wife, and 2 small Children (4 & 2).
This has been a long awaited holiday for us who’s on a budget. We have visited many Haven sites over the years and had a rough idea of what to expect, lots of arcade machines, average entertainment, over priced food and drink.
This park is quite big and close to a fantastic beach (watch out for flying golf balls on the path to it!).
On our arrival after checking in we found that the super new 2007 model caravan (which I paid an extra £20 for) had a broken window. We were put into another caravan for the night until they repaired it the next day. Problem resolved quickly but still a pain moving all your gear.
The staff could be a bit happier but helpful.
We visited Tenby, Follys Farm (a must if you have small children) and Pembroke castle during the week. Kids thought that was great.
The only problem was the weather. Rain and lots of it. I think it would be a great holiday when the weather is hot and sunny.
I think we will stay closer to home in Sussex for our next holiday. Wales is a long way to go for a wet week.
Enjoy.

My family and I have just returned from Kiln Park on the 11th May.
We stayed in a gold Olympic caravan for a week, which the caravan itself didn’t cost an arm and a leg but boy the holiday did.
I have been to Kiln Park hundreds of times as a child every year and whenever we did stay anywhere else we always regretted it and ended back at Kiln Park.
I wish I could say that I have returned off my holiday this time. Wanting to return but I can’t, infact I feel quite saddened that my son will not have the experience I had as a child.
Where can I start explaining why this is the case, I could go on forever.
Firstly the caravan was not to the standard as I expected but as you do, I let it go.
Then the club entertainment was rubbish, nothing all day then a 10 mins show and then nothing again.
One thing we did discover during the week was when they had a lot of people checking in all on the same day, suddenly the entertainment will start but they are soon disappointed as we were.
It costs you an absolute fortune keeping your children entertained in the arcades but you build them up before you get there and don’t want to disappoint them, so you have to do it.
The outdoor pool was never opened in fact it is green and the indoor pool shuts from 12 till 2 everyday, why I don’t know.
The life guards I found loved blowing their bleeding whistles at everyone, they want to try supervising my local swimming baths.
The weather could of being better but we had a couple of nice days but that’s British weather for you.
Hog roast was on the menu at the club but turned out to be burger and hot dogs.
Overall I would say Kiln Park has completely lost their spark and reputation since I was last there. I would not consider putting my family through that again.
I hope the people responsible for all these changes read these reviews because I want them to know that the one thing in Wales my family and I loved, and have many many happy memories of, is Kiln Park and they have taken them all away in the space of one week.
My advice to anyone booked to go to Kiln park or thinking of going is don’t, if you have been before and loved it as I have it will destroy you. And if you have never been then keep it that way, because anyone that may recommended it to you has not been there recently.
Sorry to write this review but unfortunately it’s the truth and nobody is saddened by this as much as me.

We arrived at 2pm, having left home at 4.30 in the morning, but were not given the keys to our accommodation until the dot of 2.30.
Whilst I felt that the staff were being rather pedantic on this point, I could accept this.
However, on arrival at the caravan we were greeted with the sight of ants crawling over the kitchen worktops which were extremely sticky. My husband and I returned to reception to report the problem, and were told that they would send the cleaning team to us by 4pm and the ant man to us as soon as possible.
Back at the caravan we started to unpack, only to discover that the caravan had not been cleaned at all. The evidence that pointed to this is as follows:-
Sticky worktops and inside cupboards attracting the ants
A loaf of bread in the bread bin
Dirty salad box in fridge
Mould on the bedroom and lounge curtains
No light bulbs working in one of the twin rooms
Shower gel in the unclean shower
A half-eaten mouldy apple under the bed (which had obviously been there for some time)
Caravan not hoovered
Cobwebs and spiders in all rooms
A broken stool in the bedroom wardrobe
An inflatable boat in the bedroom wardrobe
A cigarette lighter in the bedroom
Broken light bulbs – the glass rather than the element – in the lounge
Wet crockery in the cupboards
I phoned back to reception to tell them that the caravan clearly had not been cleaned at all, to be told by a young man that ants are not attracted by sticky worktops but were a problem due to the heat, and that they did not put people into dirty caravans.
However, once he had asked the number of my caravan and I detailed some of what I had found, he checked his records and admitted that I was correct, the caravan had not been cleaned at all.
The cleaning team arrived and did their best to make the caravan habitable for us, but to our knowledge the ant man did not come at all. We were told that we did not have to stay in for him, as reception had spare keys, but there was no evidence that he had visited, and I would have thought a calling card would have been left had this been so.
The maintenance man also came to change the light bulbs, but did not have sufficient and said that he would return. This was the last we saw of him until the morning we left, when we bumped into him at reception. He told us that he had been unable to return as he had run out of light bulbs! I presume a trip to Tesco was out of the question!
If we had been allowed to enter the caravan early, I may have been more understanding of the fact that it had not been cleaned, but to be made to wait until the dot of 2.30 and then find that the caravan had not been cleaned was extremely annoying.
Our disappointment in this caravan was compounded on Sunday morning, when we attempted to cook breakfast. With no grill pan or frying pan, we had to fry the bacon and sausages in a saucepan, and use another saucepan to fry the eggs. If we had wanted to do any cooking, there were no casserole dishes, or any other kitchen equipment which I would have expected and which is generally supplied.
This was the first time I had stayed at Kiln Park, and I would be very unlikely to return. I have stayed at the nearby Pendine Sands and Haven sites in a number of locations throughout Britain, but both the site, and the standard of the caravan were far below what I had expected or previously experienced.
It was supposed to be a 4 star caravan, and I understand that it is privately owned but administered by Haven. However, I do not think that the quality of the caravan deserved the 4 star grade, apart from the spaciousness, since the carpets were grubby and the facilities either not up to standard or lacking.
My complaint letter to Haven is unanswered 5 weeks later - and now reading the reviews on Holiday Watchdog I can quite understand why! In future I will take my business elsewhere.
