Food at centre was fab,
Can't praise the staff, entertainmnt and bar staff enough, all worked really hard to make our week enjoyable
Accomadation fab, we were only in the standard caravans as we had our dog, but could not fault a thing.
Pool clean and a good size, eveing entertainment brilliant for children and later on for the adults.
Beaches the nicest I've seen in theUK, very clean.
Only slight down fall is the walk to the beach, altho it was perfect for us, can see how it would be a problem for elderly or people with pushchairs.
But other than that, completely surprised how much we all enjoyed the holiday and can not wait to return!!
- Advice: Maybe another pool?

we were there 3yrs in a row it was good but the entertainment at night was the same every night.the room where the entertainment was it was to packed there was no air condition in the room.it was terrible that you had to pay for the bouncy castle, the crazy golf etc that all should have been included in the price.we got a good deal with the ferry and accomidation each time we went. the kids had a great time.
- Advice: have different things to do at night

Just returned from Quay West. Stayed in a privetely hired caravan. Greeted by the owner on arrival. Beds made up and caravan spotlessly clean and fully equipped and heated. Rates more reasonable than booking through Haven. We had owners exclusive passess which allowed us 10% discount when cash was put on the card. We could also use the gym and spa facilities if required. We had fantastic sea views with lovely decking and seating areas and could watch the dolphins from the caravan. The main Haven entertainment complex did leave a lot to be desired. Staff were friendly and helpful but the facilities were very outdated and not always clean. Once the childrens entertainment finished on an evening the cabaret was as bad as some of the worst X Factor auditions and caused us to escape back to the peace of the caravan!
New Quay and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and the site can be used as an ideal base to explore the area without ever having to use the site facilities. We would return again but would always hire accomodation privately and avoid the main complex and the Funstars!

I'll start witht he positives - the eve entertainment for our 3 year old was great - she was amused & entertained for hours. Here's the bad news, we have a 6 month old & the whole park is NOT BABY FRIENDLY AT ALL.
Swimming pool - only 1 changing room with a lie flat changing table (which is also a shower room, loo & general baby change so you're stuffed if someone's already in there) - we had to wait for ages to get changed & then waited for 10 mins in the cold to get dry - the floor was so dirty & wet that we couldn't even out him down on the floor.
Feeding - no idea how to cater for baby food. No bottle warming or food pot warming facilitles - we were given a massive jug full of boiling water (not very safe) to take to our table to out our food pot in - of course it went in the water but we then had to try & get it out. Nightmare. Hardly any high chairs either.
Changing facilities - in the main restaurant there's a disabled loo with a changing table - wasnt working - we found one in a disabled loo in the arcade but there was no light in there & the bin was so full it hadnt been emptied for days by the smell.
Access - the way to the beach is great (paved) till you get to the last 200 ft (if you go the long way round - dont go through the Woodland trail with a buggy or small child -its steep & slippy) - its OK if you have someone to carry the buggy with you but not to be done alone.
I would never ever recommend this place to anyone with a baby under 18 months old, theyre just not set up for it.
- Advice: Dont go with a baby

i go to quay west twice a year. we always book independently so we know which caravan we are going into. our caravans always have lovely sea views and a good view over newquay harbour. the site is always spotless, the staff are well mannered and polite and the facilities are good. the food is good and although some people say the food is overpriced, they should remember that most holiday camps and holiday towns charge higher prices than pubs at home as they dont really have much business for around five months every year so these prices are expected. the shop is well stocked and again the staff are always polite. the staff are alot friendlier at quay west than some other parks. ive recently returned from devon cliffs and although i had a good holiday, the staff weren't half as helpful. there were fights and arguments outside the club with security getting pelted with bottles and you dont get that at quay west.
newquay itself is gorgeous and it always feels like home whenever we return. we are going again in a few weeks and cant wait. no bad points at all really, apart from a nice starbucks nearby would be appreciated!!

**HAVEN SITES ARE A RIP OFF** Newquay is a fantastic place but I will avoid Haven sites in future out of principal, we booked our holiday in a Gold class caravan on the Quay West site and unfortunately there was a major problem with dampness in the childrens bedrooms which I have addressed with the owner.
The issue I have with HAVEN is that we did not get passes included in our package which was our oversight, but then we discovered you do not get use of ANY of the facilities including the bars and the childrens playground (which is fenced off), ontop of this if you purchase a pass you the have to pay extra for the kids to use the Bouncy Castle, the Crazy Golf and the Trampolines. The shop is well stocked but all prices are inflated well beyond the local shops, they are a large greedy company!

Fantastic holiday, stayed in a gold 3 bed caravan, lovely and clean with fantastic views of sea and New Quay.
Very steep walk to and from the beach but well worth it.
Not a hugh amount to do in the area but that makes for a relaxing holiday.
Children enjoyed the pool, although they would have enjoyed the splash zone if it had been working more....
Found 99% of the staff very friendly and helpful, although one waitress needs to learn how to smile.
We ate in the Oasis bar every night, all meals were very nice but the kitchen staff need to sort out there ordering of stock as on most nights they hadnt got everything we wanted.
If your looking for holiday gifts buy them in New Quay, very reasonable prices compared to most seaside resorts.
Boat trips are also very good value for money, we were lucky enough to see lots of Dolphins which made my daughters holiday.

just back from our holiday in quay west.mobile was clean and better then expected.view from mobile was lovely.we stayed in pembroke site.all staff were friendly and helpful except for one or two in reception, handed in keys at end of hol ,got no thank you or how was your hol.on arrival was the same, one girl seemed to be the only one trying. the shop was the same no customer service,no hello or thank you.shop was overpriced and badly stocked. go to newquay 10 min walk away or 5 min drive.costcutter there, cheaper and better stock.
look out for the 5 min woodland walk, its nice but not suitable for buggys, the walk to newquay,go up by owners club, its 5 min along under archway.dont walk the main road,no path very busy roads.we found walkway by chance, its badly signposted.
newquay is lovely.the people are friendly, the beach ,the shops, all worth the vist.we ate takeout fish and chips on the wall at the tourist office and watched the dolphins swim in the evening,it was a lovely memory.took the boat trip,we seen the dolphins up close.
oakwood, pricey and badly laid out inside, queues for some rides up to one hour, raining the day we went .ate in woodys,no indoor covers all outdoor seats, need up some for wet days.folly farm good value for younger children, under 9.
tenby was beautiful, but i prefer newquay, souviners cheaper in newquay.
aberystwyth 4o min away by car.big town ,had nice shops and restaurants.we did the steam train, wasnt great value and was smelly and seen nothing only bushes, went to cenerth waterfall after,if you are going to steam train do waterfall first, car park ticket gives you money off the train.
i fell in love with newquay.loads to do away from the park.
bad points about park, pool was nice but fills up very quick go early.no football /outdoor area like in all other parks we have been too.its being built we were told.have tennis court and this doubles up for all outdoor sports.entertainment was brutal,a good band would start at 10 and finish at 10.30.then more of your party tunes etc etc.
take out in bar was okay, didnt start tiill 9 or 9.30.
park is a good base, scenery is beautiful in the area.

On arrival the whole site appeared filthy. Bird mess everywhere bins overflowing. The accomodation upon arrival looked ok, hardly impressive considering it was a "gold" chalet. The housekeeping was hit and miss. Bed sheets were only changed upon request. Took two and a half hours to cook chicken nuggets and chips, waited over 24 hours for an engineer to come and look at it. Engineer finally agreed cooker was broken the night before we were due to leave.
The launderette was a day out in itself. I have never seen anything so ancient. Loaded my clothes in then had to walk to the other side of the campsite to get change for the dryers. The lady in the shop told me that the shops nearer the launderette were not open due to a high turnover of staff. All the housekeeping staff, the maintenance and gardening teams do not speak english, even some of the lifeguards are not english speaking.Booked 2 lessons for the aquajets but they could nt get two out of seven of the aquajets to work. Holiday seems a good deal, however, everything on the park is chargeable and charging highest premium, anything that is free is open very sporadically and has not been updated. the whole site seems to be extemly run down.
We decided to leave a day earlier, the holiday was depressing the staff unhelpful. Upon complaining at guest services i was told complaints were filed, and no feedback ever given. I made the mistake of looking at the reviews on the internet before going, i was dubious but decided to give it a try as i had already booked. With hindsight i should have stayed at home i would have saved myself quite a lot of money and would have had a relaxing stressless week!

Accommodation, silver 3 bedroom, Powys, 4, very good, sea view and close to the entertainment. Not bad, short walk to Newquay, very clean, good beach and Stella on tap, well worth the walk. Going back in October for half term, this time in gold caravan, kids loved it!!!

Booked Gold caravan-paid £40 extra for new van (2007).
On arrival could not get near caravan with car. We had to fight every day to get parking space usually a good distance from the van. The van was 10 min walk from amenities on site even though we paid the top price. On looking around the van discovered dishes, cutlery, cooker and even dried-in food in the bottom of a pan - overall the whole kitchen needed scrubbing.
There was no beds made up even though it stated that beds would be made up by the time you booked in at 1.30pm. We waited till 6.30 for a knock on the door by which time we took the bedding off them and made them ourselves. Some of the sheets were not usable as either ripped or had make-up on.
On Tuesday night we went for a meal in the cafe/bar and grill on site which was very expensive and very poor value for money. Also I had to take my sons bacon burger back as the bacon was raw-not just pale but raw! Was told that they would replace the bacon and I had to tell them that I wanted a whole new burger as it was raw meat with cooked meat.
The entertainment was a joke - staff dancing and singing all week was not what we paid a ridiculous amount of money for and to be reminded every 5 minutes -over the mic- that hotdogs and chips amongst other things are available especially for the parents with a few children - is like trying to bleed you dry.
You are led to believe that there is a swimming pool - although 4 strokes and you are on the other side - you are only allowed to use it certain times of the day- members only up to 10 am. Access to the beach is slippery, muddy, steep, inaccessible for prams or wheelchairs and is mostly overgrown. To gain access to the restaurant or club you have to walk through a large arcade where everything is expensive at £1 a go and gives tickets as a prize so can cost a small fortune before you actually get into the club. The only thing that saved this holiday was we were fortunate to get the good weather.
We have come home feeling like I need another holiday!

We have just returned from a 4 night break in a lovely prestige caravan with fantastic sea views over the bay.
2 children 6 and 8 enjoyed all the activities...(book asap to get what you want when you want it!) archery, football, fencing and fabulous water activities.
Bouncy castles/ trampolines were free and theres a nice park and (hilly) woodland walk.
The arcade had plenty of 2p machines..which took hours to lose £2 each!!!
Beach is lovely and well worth the very very steep pathways to get there!
We went on a dolphin/seal spotting boat trip which is highly reccommended, although we actually saw the dolphins from the shore just after our trip!
The site is quite hilly, very well kept and clean.
The sports staff were excellent with the kids making great fun of the activities.
