I have just come back from a great holiday at Quay West and i thought the holiday was great. The childrens Entertainment and shows are fantastic to what I have seen on other parks. I watched the shows at Hafan Y Mor and I have been to Craig Tara and Quay West was a lot better. They seemed to enjoy it and I would say the funstar team are a lot happier and my kids warmed to them better.
So thank you for a great holiday, be back soon.

Jul 2007, Mr  Pedlar

Went here for a weekend and was surprised of how good it actually was. I didn’t think it would be good at all.
The caravan itself was good well there’s not much of a difference between caravans but yes this one was good.
Entertainment was good overall but only one good entertainer to be fair, the others wasn`t exactly the best. The place had some fun things to do but the beach was disappointing.
I would say that overall it was a good holiday and ideal for family weekends or weeks
Hope to go there next year.

Jun 2007, Mr R Evans

Second time at Quay West, we booked a gold caravan only to find on arriving in the caravan that it was obviously not a gold, as there was no heating in caravan as there should be.
Also beds not made up as per brochure ( this state’s beds made on arrival the park staff say by 1800, but who wants someone to come round and make your beds while you are there).
Hot water tap was spinning freely, on reporting all this staff said someone will come round to show me where heating was and fix tap .
Well he came round and there wasn’t any heaters and he couldn’t fix tap. Give credit where due though on realising they had allocated us the wrong grade caravan they gave us numerous alternative caravans to pick from.
After this stressful start the rest of our stay was fantastic New Quay is a lovely resort and nearby mwnt beach must be the best beach in Wales by far.
Quay West park is quiet the way we like it but if you’re after a full on keep kids entertained park choose elsewhere.
Graded this hol as 8 but for the state of the caravan being a lower grade when we arrived, it should have been a 0 for haven holidays allocation team.

Apr 2007, Mr M Payne

Just returned from a 7 day stay in a Gold caravan at the park.
We have been coming to this park for two years and I suppose we have dropped lucky in the past and stayed in some really fabulous caravans.
This time we were given a very old van that was quite far from the main amenities. We asked to be moved but was told they had no other vans.
The entertainment was the worst I have seen at any Haven park. The funstars repeated the same show, We will rock you, three times in one week and their voices were really bad.
When they first performed the show the music went funny and showed them to be miming. We could not believe that they had gone to the trouble to record such a shower of crap.
The smoking ban in the club is excellent as you now can breathe in there!
Bad points:
Rubbish caravan that I would class as bronze done upto look gold.
Rubbish funstars shows that are repeated and repeated.
Expensive for food and drinks.
Good points
Close to some really beautiful places so you have the chance to escape the funstars shows.

Apr 2007, Miss E Rigby

Went here for the first time and were not disappointed. We booked a very reasonable last minute deal. We were supposed to get a 2 bed but got a 3 bedroom instead.
The caravan was very clean with lovely view. Lots for kids to do i.e. arcade, swimming, play area & kids clubs. Great entertainment.
Swimming pool changing area a bit cramped and food in restaurant v-expensive.
Recommend going into new quay for cheaper food, restaurants, chippy & everyday essentials also has a great little pound shop that sells everything.
Fab holiday, people were so nice and a lovely place so would definitely visit again and recommend to all.

I went to this holiday park with my family and friends and had a really nice time. The 5 hour drive got boring but once you’ve had a sleep it goes by faster.
Our accommodation was a silver caravan, on a night and early morning it was very cold due to the fact that there was no central heating. I have been to Primrose Valley before in gold accommodation and it did have central heating in the bedrooms and the whole of the caravan and it was a lot warmer but apart from that I have no complaints.
The arcade was very pricy and easily ate up your money for example the car racing, motor bike was all a pound a go. It seems the younger children at the arcade were collecting tickets out of kid’s games, and then when they had saved up a lot of tickets took them to a desk and used them to buy things.
The problem was you needed over a 100 tickets to get a decent prize and at 30p a go when the machines only give out about 5-10 tickets at a time, it can get pricey.
The drinks in the showbar were the average pub price but kids slush puppies were 1.50 each! At home I pay 80p.
The entertainment was not really entertaining but the funstars did really well.
The aqua bar served beautiful food but on a Thursday(it might be other days as well but I’m not sure)there was only a very small menu after 5pm which included about 2 starters. 5 main meals and any choice of desserts this only happened though because there was a carvery on.
I did not choose the carvery but a member of our party did and said it was beautiful.
On to the location and it was really lovely. There is a small town called Aberystwyth (I would recommend going in the sea horse pub as it is small and quiet and can take children in till 9 pm) but a bit further away is a town called Aberaeron. It is a lot bigger and has more shops. Brilliant for shopping.
About 15-30 mins away is the town Cardigan and that’s quite big. Cardigan does have a tesco.
Overall my holiday was good and this review shows the good point and bad points of Quay West Holiday Park and it was altogether really good.

The area is excellent. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The entertainment was excellent because the entertainers involved the adults as well the children.
And the arcade superior the kids to play in and one of them, accidentally slipped over on the side and the staff were very help full and assisted him.
There was a 5 a side football pitch and the kids played in it a lot as well.
There were a few problems however:
The mugs in the caravan were chipped.
Evening meals were a bit expensive.
Bar staff a bit slow.
All in all, excellent! 11/10.

Sep 2006, Miss N Jones

I have been there for the 3rd time in 3yrs and I love it! The first time I went I went with my mum and family, but the past two times I have been I have been with a friend and her family!
Our caravan has been clean and tidy, but the first time the smaller room was too small to walk between the beds! Thankfully last weekend was much bigger! We had heating and an en-suite!
The entertainment was very good aswell, having a dance floor, and plenty of entertainment for the kids including a small kids club. The problem was that the drinks were not cheap in the bar and came to quite alot for 1 round.
There is a small shop where you came buy any everyday product including small gifts, and a large arcade to keep the children happy when the adult’s entertainment is on!
Thanks for a brill long weekend! And maybe be back next year!

Aug 2006, Miss C.m Thomas

Me and my family have been here 2 years in a row now and we love it.
This caravan site is a lovely family site. I love going to see the views in the day and then going to the bar and arcade of a night.
I would truly recommend this to families.

Jun 2006, Mr D Elliott

The site itself was well maintained with good support (Staff came straight away to remove a bed when requested and unblock a toilet)
Food was good on site with a reasonable range at a reasonable price. The supermarket was well stocked too.
Entertainment was average, although one show was of the highest quality. Entertainment for kids was fine and lots of children were encouraged to get involved. There were activities all day.
I have a few complaints however.
1. The site was described as having access to the beach. This is technically correct. However the path is steep, overgrown and unfinished. There are slippery rocks at the end of the path which makes pushchair access impossible. The result of this is that beach access with a pushchair is only possible by walking into the village. This in itself is a problem as some sections of road do not have a pavement alongside.
2. Dog Waste bins are too high. You cannot open the bin with the hand you are holding the lead with! (A small mater but this really got up my nose)
3. Car parking facility alongside our caravan was untarmacked. As we arrived during a period of rain, this meant the area outside our caravan had become a muddy mess which was then transferred into the caravan when unpacking.
4. No Stella Artois on Tap in the Bar!

Jan 2006, Miss Z Heaton

I was very dubious about this holiday as it was our first caravan holiday. Upon arrival we were given the keys by the friendly staff and made our way to the caravan. From the outside, a lot of the caravans looked quite tired but once inside it was lovely. Very clean and tidy.
The entertainment was fantastic and kept the children dancing through the evening. The beaches and the town are lovely and the only thing I disliked was the food at Quay West. As with a lot of reviews about Haven Holidays the food was very overpriced and unpleasant. Take your own food or eat out of the site and you will love Quay West.
