me and my girlfriend didnt stay in this hotel we were up the road but out of 14 days we spent 11 there it is such a lovely hotel the staff there are so nice even tho it wasnt our hotel they made us feel so welcome and the entertainment was so good it was a couple who did tributes to the likes of queen greece and the blues brothers we went to 4 hotels while we was there and out of them all i would tell everyone that contessa is the place to be we are going back and cant wait

Can’t fault this hotel at all, the staff there made sure every need was met with friendly staff and cleaners. This hotel is the best we’ve stayed in at Zante, we've been visiting for around 10 years.
The pool is the cleanest ever, it’s checked twice a day. TV in the rooms, fridge, phone a and air-con which is a must.
They have a weekly BBQ, the food is great 10 out of 10.

We had a fantastic time in Argassi! The people there are lovely! The hotel staff were a bit scary but pleasant enough.
Anyone going should definitely go to the Greek night at the top of the hill. Its free wine and dancing all night for a very small price.
The hotel was very clean. The beds were changed regularly and the cleaners were in bright and early every day, whether you want them or not!
The breakfast was nice, took a bit of getting used to though. I've never had a Greek breakfast before.
Don't bother wasting your money on the bbq, the food is ok but we found it very boring.
Hopefully going back again this year!!

Stayed in Hotel Contessa on the island of Zante - Greece - tourist location Argassi, it was only fair for a 3*.
Booked 2 twin rooms and they tried their utmost to undo that booking when they saw my 2 teenage kids and allocate a tiny family room and bunks, and make on the other room, a little sly I felt until I demanded what I paid for, also it should not be allowed to advise air-conditioning as it does not work and if at all it is then controlled from reception and you are at their mercy, overall it did not work in 40 degree heat!!!
The island is beautiful and safe and easy to get around. Hotel is in a quiet location which is nice due to # of rooms in this hotel, the pool area is quiet and safe for kids. Generally not bad it won’t ruin your holiday but be aware.

It's all about everyone's expectations.
You cannot expect to have 5 stars conditions at a 3 stars prices and then to be unsatisfied.
Before getting there, we were pretty worried by the reviews, some said the hotel was a disaster, others said that they had a nice stay.
The hotel is ok, clean but not the cleanest, nice staff but not the nicest, good food but not incredible good.
Still we had a very nice vacation and this because we wanted to from the very beginning. Our budget was limited and we made the most out of it. Anyway, the hotel condition did not stayed in our way to have a beautiful holiday.
You need to take the bus in order to get to a nice beach St. Nicholas Beach. The cruizes are a must, we strongly recommend you to take the local agencies, they are more accessible (price accessible).
PS: everything is negotiable, you just have to try.
