Yiota Studios & Apartments

We have just returned from Pefkos where we stayed at Yiota. On first sight we liked the look of the simple apartments and, although a little dated, it appeared clean. On the fourth evening we came back from supper and when I moved a dish in the kitchen a large insect-looking creature crawled out and away. I was shocked and spooked. I slept badly that night. We mentioned it to the rep the next day and she said the maid would spray some insect repellant for us. The following evening we were ready for bed and my partner was texting. Suddenly he saw a large insect crawling. He didn't know what it was either. Between us we moved furniture etc and he crushed it with his foot. We thought that was it. Then I was dozing off to sleep and my partner was reading. Suddenly another even large similar looking insect flew down from the ceiling landing a foot away from him. His reflexes were good and he threw his hard-backed book onto it. It was dead so we put it in an old Pringles box to show someone the next day to identify it. The local guy in the shop told us it was a cockroach! The apartment was fumigated again but we were so unsettled by it and didn't really want to sleep there anymore. Thomas Cook were less than helpful about this so we had to. We did our own fumigation as well and did manage to sleep on the the last night there. But we were glad to go home and will never go back.

We had a lovely time staying at the Yiota, the apartments are simple, clean, and quiet! Granted the area between the 'Oasis' pool and apartments isn't picture-postcard material, but for us it was the perfect get- away destination! We loved Pefkos, and thought the restauraunts were oustanding, especially Enigma at the top of the road. A trip to Lindos is a must! All in all we had a lovely holiday.

After being dumped at the top of the hill by a coach driver who didn't know where our apts were (no rep, as there was a staff shortage). We were amazed to find that the accommodation was behind our favourite bar.
We were at the back of the building and this meant that we were quite private, especially once the small no of bathers at the pool had gone.
There was no rubbish in evidence while we were there. The studio was clean (no dust under the beds etc), well equipped, and was serviced daily. The beds were more comfortable than we are used to in holiday studios.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the air-con was at a very reasonable price.
We will happily stay there again.

My first words when I saw this building were “I am not staying here”. It was surrounded by a rubbish littered car park overgrown with weeds. As we walked round the back, our studio was on the ground floor due to my disability, there was a rusty old motorbike, bins of rubbish and old cupboard thrown out, more weeds and rubbish; not a picturesque view.
Things didn’t get any better once inside. I expected it to be basic, what I didn’t expect was to find that it was dirty and thick with dust under the beds, rubbish from previous occupants, the worktop was covered in dirt. The cleaner came and not once did she clean the toilet and only had a quick wipe round the sink and shower. The floors were cleaned by way of running a hose outside under the mop and slopping it round the room. There was a mat in the bathroom and it was never moved, the rest of the floor was just slopped in the middle. You could see where over time and weeks that dirt was building round the room.
On the plus side the pool /bar area was excellent and the snacks very good. If I was not a wheelchair user, and my options are limited, there is no way I would have stayed here. If you have any walking difficulty don’t go there its very hilly.

Just back from Pefkos 0n the 27th September 2006, Pefkos lovely Lindos fantastic had a really great time.
The only down side was were we stayed which was Yiota Studios & apartments, we were in one of the studios which was on the ground floor, they were two open arches opposite the bathroom & bedroom which looked straight into the pool area, not very private also to get to the bathroom from the bedroom you had to put some kind of foot wear on as there is a pebble floor, yes very pretty to look at but not very good if you need the bathroom in the middle of the night.
And as for fantastic sea views we had the car park & a mound of soil not very nice to sit on your balcony.
The staff were very friendly and the place was fairly clean, we have been to Pefkos before and stay at the Stella which was much better.
We will go back to Pefkos again but not to the Yiota, as the studio really spoilt the holiday.

Not long back from a lovely week back in Pefkos. Yiota apartments were located centrally for Pefkos centre and beach. Spacious apartment consisting of 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and balcony.
On a negative side, not the most secure and bathroom left a lot to be desired but expected for the rating of 2 stars. On the plus side, very clean and well equipped, even having a proper kettle - which is a luxury in Rhodes. Shop right next door has everything you could need including tea, coffee, fresh milk, sun lotions, bug stuff etc. Very cheap to hire car or moped. Only 6 euros for a taxi ride into either Lardos or Lindos (neighbouring villages/towns). Would recommend Pefkos and accommodation to anyone wanting a relaxing well paced holiday.
A warning though - don't go out on the balcony and close the door behind you! I will say no more.

The apartments were superb, cleaned daily, linen changed every 3 days, well stocked kitchen, although a toaster would have been nice. Pool 2 minutes walk, beach 10 minutes, a taxi ride from Lindos, Lardos, and Rhodes Town.
We wanted a peaceful holiday, just relaxing and sunning and we certainly got that, with going in October the weather was a tad cooler during the second week, but it didn't stop us from getting out and about.
I would recommend the apartments and the resort to anyone wanting to get away from it all.
