Our best holiday ever!!! George the bartender was the star of the property. sophia the owner was a great woman. She organising meals for every one.She was teaching Greek dances. Irene on the super market was so lovely.
The hotel rooms were realy good, very spacious for the 4 of us. they were very clean and the maids come in every day to change our sheets. they made us very welcome from the day we came. The only bad point in this property was the gypsy site at the back. i really enjoyed this holiday and highly recommend it. We must thank all the staff at sophia beach,we really had a great time.we will see you pretty soon!!!

Gypsy camp next door, location like a scap yard, German techno blasting out, gangs of young dutch roaming about from room to room shouting and drunk. Air con broke, ill fitting windows and doors, no hot water, not even a plug in the sinks. We had to moved the first day we moved in. Even the taxi driver said we had made a good move.
- Advice: avoid this one.

well what can i say! this holiday was the best i have had. michael the bar man/reception was a brilliant guy, never failed to make me laugh about us english being mardy when it rains lol. sophia was so funny dancing on pool tables and organising meals for every one. irene from the shop next door was so lovely :D The hotel rooms were realy good, very spacious for the 5 of us. they were very clean and the maids come in every day to change our sheets.. george i think he was weird but funny. they made us very welcome from the day we came. yes their was a gypsy site at the back but they never caused any trouble what so ever! The only downside to this hotel is that they do not do bar food, which is a let down as we had to find other places to eat. i really enjoyed this holiday and highly recommend it. thank you to the staff at sophia beach,, and sophia should start appreciating her staff especially irene and michael.

I can recommend Sophia Beach without hesitation. The room we had was very good - big, clean, airy; comfy bed; great balcony. The hotel pool was very nice too.
Michael on the front desk is fantastic! Any requests we had were cheerfully met.
The location is good: very short walk to the beach or to Kos Town.
To recap: recommended!
- Advice: Kos is sunny, pretty and cool!

After reading various reviews we were apprehensive about the hotel, all of which dissappeared on our arrival, yes there is a gypsie site next to the hotel but they were not drunk or noisey at all. The hotel position is ideal for the beach and the two main clubs on the island, the town center is about 25 min walk away. The Hotel accomodation is very clean, and well equipped, the maid service is very good and the reception staff very helpful. With regards to George and Sophia the owners what can we say, good honest people, they invited us to a home cooked traditional Greek meal for eight people, arranged car hire and made reservations for us at the popular restaurant in Zia all at no charge.Fantastic weather, fantastic hotel and new greek friends we will definately be returning next year
- Advice: Typically greek harbour and town
- Activities: the beach at Marmaris and visiting Zia

After reading some of the reviews about this holiday, me and my mum where worried we would not enjoy this holiday one bit. However after arriving our fears where gone. The rooms are excellent for greece and although the owner may appear rude, once spoken to he is really nice. And michael? the friendliest man ever. Yes there are gypsys living next door but they are no bother. The beach is beautiful however it isnt sad but shingles and the water is terribly rocky. Depending on how fast you walk and what route you take, getting to town takes between 15-30 minutes. All in all an amazing holiday and I would definatly go there

We have been back about 10 days and already we want to go back. We went to Sophia Beach for the first time last year and enjoyed it so much we decided to go back this year, and we will be going back next year.We do not understand the problem people have with George,he has always been very friendly to us. As we said last time if you are friendly to him he is very friendly and funny back. The maids came to our room everyday to either change the bedding or towels or just to mop the floor, the important thing to remember is to leave your keys in reception, this way they know the room is empty. Both Micheal and Sophia in reception were very helpful and could not do enough for you.We arrived at resort at 12.30am and the air conditioning in the bedroom was not working, i reported it and it was fixed by 6pm the next day (Bloody good service). The Greek night is really good fun and well worth the money.Again this year we met some very nice people, this is a fantastic hotel and i cannot understand all the bad reviews it gets. Itwas 35 degrees very nice pool with poolside bar and the beach is a slow 2 minute walk away, what more could you want. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!
- Advice: Plenty to see (Kos town very nice)
- Activities: George's Garden, Sunset. 3 island cruise is a must (Go on the boat Maria)

This was my familys 4th visit to the Sophia Beach and it is excellent, as you walk out of the hotel you see the beach, the rooms are spacious and clean, the pool is lovely and the pool bar does great snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. George who runs the bar is brilliant, he is so funny and friendly, so is Sofia and Michael who are reception, they are very helpful, friendly and make you feel very welcome. On this visit to KOS, my partner and I got married, and invited 26 family and friends to our wedding of which 14 stayed at the Sophia Beach with us, they too thought it was a lovely hotel. Can't wait to go back next year.

I would like to comment from experience on the Sophia Beach hotel, having booked to stay there last week, but as you will see, I can't. We arrived after midnight to be greeted by the night porter, Moses. He was courteous and asked to see our papers. After some minutes he informed us that the hotel was full(!), the excuse being that they had expereienced Internet problems and were therefore, somehow, overbooked. He called someone who initially agreed to take us. He came over in a beat up old car to collect us, but during the journey we told him we had prepaid for our accommodation - he then tried to argue we hadn't! (obviously worried he wouldn't get paid) he then took us through some dodgy dirt track roads back to the Sophia.
Two other groups arrived while we were waiting for Moses to sort something out, one a group of Italians who had not prepaid, were then whisked off to the other hotel (to sleep in a lounge on chairs/makeshift beds as we found out later.
Moses was useless on the phone so eventually my son and I took it over trying to find somewhere to stay - not easy at 3-4 am. Unsurprisingly, this was difficult. We eventually got in at the Alexandra hotel in Kos town, along with another couple who arrived from Birmingham. For a 4 bed apartment this cost me 120 euros for one night - AND we had to vacate by midday!
So all in all not a great experience. Avoid at all costs.
