Submitted By: Mrs A LawtonThe poolside bar is not up to much, its like a canteen, food their is pretty average. George!, well I have read loads about him and had to laugh, he certainly dosnt conform to the sterotype that all Greek people are lovely and he is a bit of a maverick and can be loud. However he certainly didnt ruin my holiday, but I do think he should maybe enrol on a customer care course!!
Overall, it was no better or worse than many other hotels Ive been to in other Greek islands.

Submitted By: Miss C BrownThere is a beautiful resteraurt called the Blue Lagoon just round the corner from the hotel,,,we ate there most nights as we found the staff and food outstanding!
I would stay clear of Heaven (the beach club/bar) they really rip you off...... 15 euro is easliy spent on two drinks..I think the smirnoff Ice was 7 Euro a bottle - the greeks seem to love it there though!
If you planning on going to Kos..a must is the 3 island cruise, you can get tickets from KOs Harbour..we paid 30 euro's each but this was well spent.. we also saw Dolphins whilst on the cruise - this day was the highlight of my holiday
Missing Kos already.. only been back 2 days to dreary England

Submitted By: Mr W WadeBilly met us a reception with a big smile and sorted our rooms out and very clean and tidy they were, very nicely folded towels on each bed. Small stove but was never used. The bar was great, Alex was a wonderful bar man and his good lady who I cant remember her name always had a smile in the shop. George and his wife Sophia were perfect hosts and if you read other reviews they say he is always shouting NOT TRUE he is Greek to start and its there manner being loud but he only shouted when people were fooling round in the pool and yes it was towards us silly Brits who get carried away after a beer. This is how good he was, a group of 10 played cards lowest card lost meant thrown in pool by the time 6pm came the bar where we were sat was flooded, he just brought a mop out, laughing at us.
The place was more or less shut in the town, very few places left open but still enough to see and do, and to hire quad bikes is a great way to see the whole island in a day. the bars and restaurants were clean and tidy, if you turn left outside apartment there is a lovely place just to the left of the hire shop, he reopened for us one night, how many people in the UK would do that?
The beach is clean but walk half way towards town and its free sun loungers. The whole experience was super the people we met were great and we will be looking to re-book again. This is a lovely holiday place for people of all ages, maybe a little quiet for young kids as only the beach and pool for them and a couple of pool tables in the bar, 2 Euros a go! Be careful of the roads as always in Greece they can be busy and if you hire any motors watch the Dune buggy’s great fun but you are very low down and wagons do pass ya at around 70 mph. Marks out of 10 for Sophia beach for me defo 10.

" We had a great holiday. It was just... "
Submitted By: Miss T KennyIt had something to offer everybody though and the clubbers on the beach were brilliant even though we went out of season. The weather was perfect too as it was bearable to sunbath all day long.
The apartments were basic but adequate and the owner and his staff were real characters making us feel very welcome.
The food was great in Kos too and we would definitely make a return visit.

" We have only been back from Kos 3... "
Submitted By: Miss C TwistWe stayed at Sophia Beach, the accommodation was good apart from the women on reception, one didn't like us from day one and didn't make us feel welcome at all, but the rooms were clean which is a bonus, but we didn't let that ruin our holiday,
A must do is to visit is Tarzan Beach Bar (about 15 mins walk from apartments), the staff are amazing and make you feel really welcome and the food is amazing and is really cheap (for the amount you get). We spent every day on their part of the beach which was free, most places are at this time of year, although it is getting out of season there are still places open and they are all freindly, Tarzan is Amazing.
About a 30 min walk is the habour and Kos Town, but there are plenty of bars to stop off at along the way! Kos town is lovely and there are lots of shops where you can buy practically anything, def have a drink on the little square they have it is really cheap and is great to relax at night.
All in all a great week had and would def go back in season too see more of Kos.

" I booked this 13 months before... "
Submitted By: Miss W ArmstrongWe arrived at 3.30am to a 70 degree heat wave. Apartments were immaculate. Microwave, fridge/freezer, hairdryer, kettle and toaster. Although we never ate in room. Massive balcony. Bathroom dated but spotless. Maid service everyday except Sun. Clean sheets, towels & floors daily. Billy & Alex at reception and Kelly the rep were fantastic. On last night before coach pick up Alex let us keep baby bottles in pool bar fridge!
Old River & Sunset tavernas 10min walk away fantastic. Beach 2min walk away.
I would give Sophia Beach 10/10 however tour operator never explained unsuitability of Lambi for buggies or wheelchairs. We began to dread nightly walk into resort centre as pavements and roads complete nightmare due to width, height and trees.
We will return to Kos and will recommend Sophia Beach to all friends & family. All the locals love kids!
Those who gave bad reviews - are you sure you stayed at Sophia Beach?

" My wife & I have just spent 2... "
Submitted By: Mr WarrenEnjoyed our holiday very much.
The good points-
- Room & balcony was quite large for a studio, plenty big enough for a 2 week stay.
- Sheets & towels were changed regularly - no problems.
- Had a microwave - good for jacket spuds at lunch time! Also kettle & toaster.
- The pool area was clean & tidy.
- Eating out was excellent, quite a few tavernas doing good food at cheap prices.
- Plenty of sun beds on the shingle beach ranging from 6 euro down to free!
Not so good points-
- The cooking area was rather scruffy (long term grime) & needed a good clean, was o.k. once done.
- The area between the apartments & the beach is rather run down (to say the least), there is a derelict wine factory and tomato factory nearby which are massive. They are due to be demolished soon.
Overall -
A good holiday, plenty of walking to do into Kos town & beyond along the coast.
The eating out was great. Friendly people.
May go again but would stay at the new marina side of the town for a change!

" Stayed here for a week it was o.k,... "
Submitted By: a.j.Our room was big an spacious, but the bathroom was a nightmare every time you got a shower which was just a hole in the floor what did not drain the water away, so in the middle of getting washed you had to turn shower off an mop all the water up. Also had to put 3 big bath towels at the door to stop water the water flooding the kitchen. Fridge was rusty. Bedding was torn in places.
They only had entertainment on a Monday night. Which was not enough.

Submitted By: Mr J WardAs others have said the Blue Phoenix is a must for eating, good food and service. The beach isn't child friendly because of the very steep drop and the pebbles.
Three island trip is a must but don't book via the rep as it will cost you twice as much, Turkey trip isn't that great either unless you like being hassled every step of the way.
Would return to Kos and the Sophia Beach as both resort and hotel made you feel welcome.

" Where to start. We had a terrible... "
Submitted By: Miss C BrooksFour of us went in two separate apartments and all four of us where highly disappointed.
My apartment was manageable, however the other two had to be moved from their room as the toilet was leaking, the door frame had rotted and fell apart as the closed the door in the bathroom.
Our Rep was brilliant and took good care of us whilst we were there. At the end of the holiday she asked for us to fill in a questionnaire about the hotel and the holiday. We put poor for everything in the hotel.
The two weeks we were there in August it was hitting 38/40 degrees, although it says in the brochure they switch the air conditioning off at this time, we didn't expect them to in that heat, but they did, when we asked for some fans for the room, they said they didn't have any.
I could say a lot more regarding the pool, the cleanliness, and the staff but I would be here all day.
However Kos is beautiful. The restaurants around the hotel we good, The Blue Phoenix just metres away was fantastic.
Overall Kos is lovely and I would certainly go back, but definitely not to Sophia Beach!
