Holiday for 1 week and the beggining of August last year, 3 mid 20s lads. Start with; Location = wayyy to far from the resort, 5 minutes away is a complete lie - its a 25minute walk at best!Taxi ranges between 6 and 12 euros so works out rather expensive in the long run.... more

Great Staff, lovely hotel
Eager to please and genuinely nice staff made our stay enjoyable. The hotel is located within the Old City and once you exit the hotel and turn the corner, you are greeted by the hustle and bustle of this popular port stop. We were greeted by the staff upon our arrival and although our room was not ready, they took care of our bags as we toured the Old Town. When we returned, our bags were in the room as was a bowl of fruit, a bottle of water and a bottle of ok wine. We stayed in the "Ontas". We loved the color scheme and decor of the room and found the bed really comfortable. The room was located next to the main reception area which is the main drawback for this room and the reason we did not rate this hotel higher. Every time we opened our main door we saw the staff or guests that were taking care of their business. It was fine at first and then it got to us a little. Also, when in your room you over hear any conversation that takes place in the lobby. Although we spent little time in our room during our four day stay, our mid afternoon naps were not as pleasurable due to the rooms location. We did get many great nights of sleep as the hoteland the lobby is very tranquil in the late hours. I would rate it a 3 1/2 if I had the option but I don't so it gets a three. The location of the "Ontas" room is not worth the price we paid.
Oasis in the middle of old town
What can you say. The hotel is within the walled city of the old town and you can walk everywhere. Once you are in the hotel the outside world is no longer around. Only a small number of rooms all tastefully designed. A courtyard so you can relax and enjoy the serenity. Breakfast is included and includes all types of treats. There are pastries and frewsh orange juice and you can eggs and crepes cooked fresh as you request and for the healthier types museli and fresh fruit. The staff made our stay very enjoyable. Would stay here again
Nikos Takis
Have recently returned from a week in Rhodes, staying in the Nikos Takis Hotel. Having researched hotels in Rhodes Old Town on the internet we opted for Nikos Takis due to it's quirky originality and upscale persona. The Nikos Takis is indeed a unique property decorated in bright colours and with some ornate furnishings. It's location is opposite the Grand Masters Palace and offers stunning views over the Old Town and down towards the harbour. Breakfasts are simple and offer homemade bakery items. The staff are all friendly and appear keen to offer assistance. Despite these positive comments I never felt that this hotel was in any way special. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I feel that for the price we paid for our room the hotel did not deliver value for money. Yes the hotel is original and quirky but so are many others in the Old Town at much less cost. My husband and I both find the Old Town of Rhodes a wonderfully romantic getaway, and yes we will return, but not to the Nikos Takis.
unbelievable hotel !!!!!!!!!
I have to say that our stay there was out of this world !!!! Been a businessman and traveling constanly around the Condinent , i have never seen a hotel as beautiful, as luxury, in every aspet as nikos-takis fashion hotel. Has only 7 suites but that is what makes it so special and unique. The location is unreal !!!!! DO NOT loose an opportunity like this !!!! thanks to the owner elias for been so .... REAL
A Christmas to remember....!!!
We were not sure in the beginning if it was a good idea to book a room especially at this time of the year, when normally tourists dont choose Greek islands in the winter time. We were not sure about the wheather, so we decided to book anyway, as soon as we saw the website with the fabulous rooms, and the amazing colours, the warm atmospehere you get when looking at them on the internet...we wanted to stay at this small boutique hotel so we can get a personal service and some quiet time to ourselves as we normally work a lot and dont have much time to give to ourselves.. We were told that there would be a christmas meal on the 24th but when we arrived, it seems that the plans were changed and the dinner was planned for the 25th instead as all the guests would be there, and the dinner would be with more of us. There wasnt anyone to help us with the suitcases for the moment as it is winter time, but the girl that worked there, Areti, offered and carried our suitcases for us and welcomed us with a warm liquer and then showed us to our room.. we were hungry and as it is winter time there were no restaurants open at that time to eat so the manager offered to take us to a restaurant near town, outside old town, but a good Greek traditional one. The meal was excellent and so was the breakfast.Great thanks to the breakfast lady, Nina who made those wonderful delicious breakfast meals for as long as we were there... On the night of the 25th we had our christmas meal, which was free of charge it was part of the christmas deal, with very nice food and desserts, that the breakfast lady and the manager made together, and we are glad the dinner was then, as even though we didnt know each other, we were feeling we were having christmas in our house instead of a hotel, and the staff members made sure they would make everyone feel as comfortable as possible and at home. They also made a very nice salad, a Nikos Takis Salad, with a delicious sauce, which was also homemade. To conclude, we are glad we choose this hotel to have our christmas at, as it is a christmas we will remember forever, and one that we will keep in our hearts, especialy when everyone was so considerate of our needs, and made us feel so welcome, without disturbing us in the least, or making us feel uncomfortable. It is a great place to have some time yourselves and very romantic epsecially at night, when sitting outside to look at the view from the veranda. We would go there again and we recommend it to anyone that wants to have a holiday to remember for the rest of their lives...We want to thank very much the girls that did their best to make our stay a memorable one and also Mr Nikos and Mr Takis for having made such a hotel, which is more like a guest house, rather than a hotel...!!!All the best for the New Year to everyone, we are definitely coming back soon in the New Year.
Loved it!
Nikos Takis is easily one of the most charming small hotels we've stayed. The location is excellent and easily accessed despite being in the old town. The staff is superb and the individual service given by all is incredible. Many thanks especially to Areti who consistently went out of her way to ensure our stay was memorable. We could not have been more pleased. The breakfasts were fabulous. Everything was homemade there at the hotel and something we looked forward to each morning. We stayed in the Knight's room, a beautiful space. One more thing-this hotel is immaculately clean. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone! We loved it! Again, thank you Areti and your co-workers for making our stay in Rhodes so magnificent!
Beautiful, unique boutique hotel.
We stayed at the Nikos Takis Hotel for 4 nights in June. It is one of few hotels located within the Old Town. Our room was quite small but still very beautiful. It was wonderful to be welcomed with a bottle of wine and a fruit basket. There is a lovely courtyard where a delicious breakfast is served. Apparently they served Ouzo and appetizers each evening around 8 but unfortunately we were always out and about so were not able to enjoy this. This is a very romantic, lovely boutique hotel. We loved it. Thank you Metina and Chris for your hospitality! Ray and Linda Riopel, Vancouver, Canada
best hotel in Rhodes
Stayed just one night in May, best and biggest bed, hotel is next to the Grand Palace. The staff are lovely, the rooms are pure, quirky luxury. Best choice of a four week Rhodes/Turkey trip.
We loved this hotel!
We stayed in this lovely boutique hotel for 4 nights earlier this month and we could not have been more pleased with our decision. All of the rooms are decorated in a beautiful Turkish/oriental style with genuine antiques and/or very lavish furniture and accents. We stayed in the Tzami suite and the king size bed was incredibly comfortable! The hotel's location was perfect for us - in the old city just a 1/2 block from the Grand Master's Palace and the Street of the Knights. It was also only a 1/2 block to the busy Socratous Street but somehow it still felt off the beaten track! Chris made us great crepes and other delicacies each morning & she also provided mezedes and ouzo every night at around 8:00 for all guests in the hotel's outdoor courtyard. If you are considering staying in the Old City, we highly recommend Nikos Takis!
A Very Romantic Place!
The wife & I had an opportunity for a getaway vacation in Greece w/o kids, so we wanted to stay in a hotel that was memorable and romantic to take advantage of the (somewhat rare!) opportunity. We found out about the Nikos-Takis from some web searching, and couldn't believe how good it sounded from the description. But we were slightly worried since it was new (they opened in Summer 2005) and had no existing reviews. We took the chance anyway, and it was the best decision we made for the whole vacation. EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HOTEL WAS PERFECT!! If you want a unique, luxurious, romantic place we can't imagine any better. The hotel might not be for everyone's taste: it is very small (only 4 rooms, building 2 more for summer), and though in a perfect location for sightseeing (in the center of old town and literally next door to the main sights), it does not have the beach view that some people crave from a Greek Island vacation. The Nikos-Takis is also very different from the standard large chain hotel in all respects, but this was something we loved. For starters, the rooms were amazing -- completely designed around mediterranean/byzantine/oriental themes -- it was likely being in someone's lovingly decorated house rather than a hotel. We stayed in the Tzami room which was very large, with a separate sitting room, huge bathroom and kingsize 4-poster bed (one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in at a hotel). The bathroom had a 2-person Jacuzzi tub that we got a lot of use out of (it was a *romantic* getaway after all!). Most importantly, the service and amenities were deluxe and personalized, from the bottle of wine and fruit when we arrived, to the wonderful breakfast served in our bedroom, to all of our needs being met immediately. For example, after coming back one afternoon we asked the receptionist/hostess Matina where we could find fresh olives to bring back to the room for a cocktail hour snack. She said give me 5 minutes, and then brought up a whole tray of them, along with feta cheese and fresh bread. All of the food served by the hotel was wonderfully fresh & delicious. Matina gave great recommendations for dinner places, and was generally as helpful as a guest could imagine. So, in short, if you want to stay in a deluxe, romantic hotel (i.e., much better for couples than families) that will give you a completely memorable experience, try Nikos-Takis. You won't regret it!
