Nikos Beach Hotel

Hotel Nikos is obviously the best place to stay in malia. Me and my 3 mates from Manchester went there last summer and had the time of our lives.
The hotel staff were mint! Ben is clearly the best escapdes rep he has the tattoo to prove that. (Treat yourself)
The bar staff were amazing at the Nikos 24hr service, our good friend George worked the night shift you legend.
Yanni and elani ran the bar in the day n kept the pool and bar area clean and tidy and over all a top place to be in.
The food was nice as well the good old hangover cure of English bacon sorted me out a number of times, I can assure you.
I strongly suggest you go to the Nikos because you will have an amazing time.
I am going back to Malia again this year 07, but the Nikos is full so am staying else where we are gutted!

I have been to many holidays organised by 18-30 type operators and I have to say this was the worst.
The Escapades rep was rude and negative. We bought the full events package, only to find when on the bar crawl (1st event) the reps took us to the most expensive bars and nothing was FREE (not even a free shot).
So we decided to cancel all our events, as I don’t think they would be value for money unlike other tour operates event packages I have been on. When we asked for a refund the rep had a temper tantrum and basically had a go at us.
We only got a part refund of 80 Euros out of 160 (remember we bought are own drinks on the only event we went on).
Regarding the hotel well I have never stay in a more disgusting hotel. Staff were rude, I saw a rat swing into the kitchen, food was not up to standard, bed sheets not changed in the whole 10 days, towels the size of a flannel and to top it all off you had to pay 7euros each way to get into Malia or to closest supermarket - you couldn’t walk it as stated in brochure as it is on main road.
I would advise if you are thinking of going to Hotel Nikos - DON'T!

Me and 3 mates went to Nikos last October and although it was coming to end of season, the rep was completely negative the minute we arrived and told us all the places that were shut.
Then our rooms weren’t even near each others, even though the hotel was half full and the staff and rep were completely rude.
The rooms were complete dives! They say there is a radio - from the 1960's and it doesn’t even work, my room over looked a gorgeous farm!
And my friends overlooked the top of the bar/ kitchen, where we actually saw rats scurrying underneath the roof of the kitchen and running around!
Not to mention its ages away from Malia centre and 7Euros just to get there in a cab!
Worst hotel I have ever been to!

This hotel was awful. Despite what MyTravel tell you, this is neither self catering (none of the rooms have any kitchen facilities), nor close to the strip - you are at least a 15min walk / 7euro taxi ride from the centre of Malia.
The bar is not open 24 hours a day. Yannis, the surly bar tender / owner closes the bar when he is tired and will even try to kick you out if you're still in the bar.
This hotel is very basic, one to be avoided at all costs.

Hotel Nikos was ace. The atmosphere was great. Our rep was mega.
The only fault with the hotel is may be the rooms are a bit too basic. But hey you hardly see the room so let’s not complain.
Excellent if I ever go back to Malia I would definitely go back to The Nikos.

Awesome holiday, I’ve been home for 1 day and want to go back already. The hotel is perfect. The staff are some of the most friendly people you will meet and the pool and bar area is really good.
Only 15 min walk to the main strip and probably only a 2 min drive in a taxi (which is cheap). I thoroughly recommend hotel Nikos to anyone looking at holidays in Malia because I am looking at going there again next summer.
My advice... go there.

Hi, I stayed at the Nikos hotel for 2weeks with a mate its was the best holiday I have ever had the staff was really friendly and their food was amazing and the hotel and pool was fresh and very clean it wasn’t to far from the town and set right in the sun.
I’ve booked up ready to go again next year cant wait the rooms was basin but great for a b+b I’ve recommended this hotel to loads of people.

I had the best holiday at the hotel Nikos I have ever had. There was a group of four of us that went.
The hotel staff were lovely, very friendly. They did all sorts of English food in the pool bar which was lovely.
Rooms were basic, but clean and couldn’t complaint.
Had quite a few good nights out in Malia which was only a 5min taxi ride away, or 15min walk. But also had a few good nights just sat in the pool bar which we kept open until god knows what time in the morning. Had a great holiday and i will be going back again next year no doubt about it.
