Submitted By: Ms EOther than that, we had an amazing time chilling around the pool, the rooms were very clean and the bar served quite cheap snacks such as fry-ups, chips, hamburgers, salads, pizzas. The staff were very hospitable and welcoming, they would do anything for you. Joshua the rep was a bit of a disappointment, so full of himself and not helpful at all. I would recommend this hotel to couples of all ages for a relaxing break in the sun but not to those looking for a crazy and wild holiday as they will definitely complain about something to balance their own bad behaviour.

Submitted By: Miss L BeckettRooms were very clean and beds quite comfortable.
The rooms are very basic, literally a bed, set of drawers and a Bathroom. However this is what i pretty much expected. The only disappointment with the rooms was the issue of no Fan! It was 40 degrees pretty much the whole time we were there, so as you can imagine hot nights! Fans can be hired for a charge but you would hope going somewhere so hot that at least ceiling fans might be provided.
Bearing this in mind we had to keep our balcony door shut day and night as there was an unfortunate incident where 2 intruders were spotted by my partner climbing up on to the first floor below us at about 2am. We alerted the owners and thankfully one of the intruders was disturbed by our voices and made a run for it.
However, the owners were so grateful that we had alerted them and kept Thanking us for the rest of our holiday and we were treated to a free lunch the following day. Anna assured us that this happens all over Malia, which we understood and didnt affect our view of the Palace.
We had a lovely holiday though, the location of the hotel from all the bars is just a nice 10 minute walk, Pool was excellent and always sunbeds available.
Only improvement i think is needed is the Fan issue!
Owners were lovely, always going out of their way to help.
Food at bar nice and a wide selection available.
Would recommend this hotel to younger and older couples if going for a week's holiday. However not to families with young children as no fridges to keep cold drinks/bottles etc and rooms are small.

" Just back from the Palace Hotel and... "
Submitted By: Ms P EThere was a really good selection of reasonably priced English and Greek food at the pool bar, we ate there quite a bit and we all enjoyed it. The staff at the hotel are fantastic, really lovely people, and take a real personal interest in you.
When you go into Malia itself there is loads of bars and clubs to choose from but the hassle you get to go in is unbelievable, when you are walking down the street about six people come out of each one and surround you and if you try to walk past they accuse you of being rude and ignorant and the 'free drinks' you get are seriously watered down. The best thing to do if you are in a group is walk seperately from each other and pretend you are meeting a friend in a different club.
Also beware that most toilets on the strip are dire and have no toilet seats, locks on the toilet door, or toilet paper, so make sure you bring tissues.
Aside from this we had a great holiday and will definitely go back to Malia and the Palace next year

Submitted By: Miss C FisherI spent 2 fantastic weeks with my friend there last year and i'm definitely going back! We loved the location, the rooms were exactly what we needed, the food served at the snack bar was delicious and reasonably priced and the owners were great - very friendly and helpful! The rooms are extremely clean and the pool area is fabulous - emormous pool, plenty of sunloungers and umbrellas for everyone and chilled out music.
Anna and her family who own the place clearly take pride in what they do and have guests coming over again and again, obviously because of the friendly atmosphere, all the guests got to knew each other and had a great time!
It was one of my best holidays ever, and i recommend the Palace Hotel to any one going to Malia without a second thought!
Oh! One more thing! BEWARE! The brochure and the website are SOOOOO misleading! It is NOT a young and lively hotel, or an 18-30, or 20s, or wild or ....! It is a family run hotel with minimum noise and vandalisms tolerance. Perfect for a laid back holiday...

Advice: Never Book at this place, the rooms are so basic and the toliets and showers are rubbish
Activities: the best place we went to was the pool bar crazy, where all were made to feel welcome
