- Advice: Stay by the bar til it closes, about 12am, because Malia strip only really kicks off then anyway. You'll have lot's of fun and pre-drinks by the bar before you go out then.

Just returned from a holiday in Malia, having stayed at the Natali Apartments. Some of the points raised in the review are true, security guard is hot onto everything bad in some cases agreed but better than none. Secondly the women knocking around does not offer anything in the way of a smile, but in my weeks stay there I had one encounter with her and it was when I handed in my keys. Finally the rooms are of a basic standard but provide everything required for the sort of holiday Malia provides. In my experience a clubbing holiday revolves around days at the beach or pool and nights out. The room is simply a space to get ready and sometimes sleep, simple as. Don't get me wrong im sure there is better accommodation out there but at what cost?? The atmosphere at the Natali was for me its main factor, great pool and bar facilties a place to meet some decent people. Bit to lively, bit to basic, bit to loud............go book a holiday to seychelles.

Stay away from this hotel if you are booking with Thomas cook choose the odesy it is just down the road and its a 100% better. We stayed in the sunshine hotel in July 2011 we were B&B there was no air conditioning in the room no fridge to keep water cool the sheets and towels did not get changed once the 7 night we stayed you always had to ask for toilet roll and they constantly made it a big deal. The hotel will fine you for absolutely anything. It is ment to be escapades 18-30 and you had to be quiet after 9 o'clock and we also got refused breakfast every morning for still being drunk. It was only bread and jam anyway if you wanted a full English you had to pay for it what a ripoff. We were on the ground floor and there was an open man hole all week which constantly stunk! The security guard hit a girl and knocked her out for siting outside the hotel and refusing to move while she was waiting for her friend. one of our friends came back from a night out and found his room open with his mobile phone gone and 200 euros missing when he went to see them they said go to the police which is miles away and you would have to catch loads of busses . That's the bad news as for malia the strip it is amazing what a place you won't get a better night out so if you are going to malia just stay away for sunshine hotel and apartments don't get ripped of like we did!

Ignore the reviews below. If you go in and be respectful then you get respect back. Mike (Hank to others) is a top fella. If you respect him, he respects you. Much like life isn't it? You go in and act like an idiot and be disrespectful to him then you get what you deserve.
It's a decent hotel, no frills about it but the bar and pool area is decent and it has all you need. It is cleaned well and no frisky business from anyone, a very safe hotel!!
If you respect Mary the owner and you respect Mike then you will have a good stay there.
I'd defo reccommend it to someone because it's in a ideal location, 5 mins from the strip to walk but situated away so it ain't noisy.
Be respectful and you will enjoy it. Don't? And you will get what you deserve.

Not the best place to stay but average for this type of holiday.. rooms were clean however the pillows and sheets were changed once during the 7 days we were there! the bar staff are all lovely and give discount and free shots when you keep spending..
In a good area, 5 mins walk to the strip but was quiet after 12. One off putting thing was the large amount of quad and motor bikes going up and down the street to the hotel entrance all day and night! The security guard is strict but we took him with a pinch of salt and he didnt give us any trouble.. however if you are looking to bring people back to your hotel room on a night definitely do not stay here because he wont let anyone in without a key and will charge you!
Craig the rep was brilliant very entetaining and helpful about things going on, recommend the escapades events such as booze cruise and malia slides both great days out! The food and drink are decent prices in the hotel bar and food is very nice! but you cant bring any of your own food or drink to the pool area.. although if you have booked bed and breakfast it is a waste of time as all you will get is bread and cheese every morning.
the receptionist mary (aka scary mary) will give you trouble if you give her trouble shes not the nicest if your loud and break things or damage the rooms etc. but otherwise she wont bother you.. safety deposit boxes are 20 euros and are kept in reception area these were useful.
Overall a brilliant holiday in malia.. would recommend people to stay in natalie apartments rather than sunshine though as they are bigger!

We stayed here from the 10th-18th june.
It was horrible.
when we arrived in our room the bed sheets were covered with hair and nail varnish. There was no shower curtains so we had to use towels which only got changed once the whole time we were there.
The owner is the rudest women you will ever meet.
We got told of at 10pm for being to noisy when it is supposed to be young and lively.
We had 3 boys that we met sat on the wall of the bottem apartment and they got told to move and if they didnt we would get fined.
3 night in, some boys on the top floor dropped noodles onto the grass right near our balcony which caused hundreds of ants all in our room, the owner came and sprayed them with ant killer but left them dead all over the room, our beds were covered in them and they got left there for 2 days. We kept asking the women but she kept telling us that the cleaner wasnt here, when we asked for a new room the women refused to give us one. We were forced to move into our friends room.
Also becareful with the middle ages man behind the bar cause he'll try rob your money by short changing you.

Extremely dissapointed with this hotel as it wasnt not what we aere expecting.... the pool is small and cramped and you dont have much room to bathe, the staff behind the bar are really freindly nikos and Leeane were they only good part of the hotel.
Hank the security guard is an absolute loose canon, he went mad at any noise you made and threatened us with his tazor gun, which he would of used if you dont back down.
Malia is a nice place and the party scene is amazing i would just not recommend this hotel at any cost!!!!!

I stayed at these apartments for a week with a group of 6 girls. We had a great time! The apartments are in an ideal location, about a 5-10 minute walk to the main clubbing strip - far away enough to not here the noise! There is a small shop right across the road where you can buy drinks etc from. The rooms were just what we needed, basic but what you'd expect - they are spacious, have a kitched (not that we really used it) and a shower that works fine. The beds were comfy, rooms were cleaned - the cleaners were nice (trustworthy). We felt very safe in the apartments as there is a security guard outside all night - although he does tell you to keep the noise down after midnight (fair enough). There is a nice beach about 15 mins away where you can do watersports. The pool was good as well - not too packed. The place genrally had a good atmosphere and I would recommend the holiday to young people up for a party holiday!

I went with a group of friends to the Natali apartments for a week this summer. The hotel is laid out nicely and the staff are quite friendly. The security is good, a security guard was posted right outside our room and is there over night stopping any randoms from wandering in. The rooms are basic, four bed rooms with kitchen and small bathrooms. The only problems with the rooms are the bathrooms, there is no shower curtain or screen so the shower water also lands on the bathroom floor. This means the bathroom is flooded for the rest of the evening. Also, there is a likelihood of large bugs getting into the rooms especially if you are on the ground floor near the front of the hotel. Obviously this cannot be help as they live in the hot climate of Malia however, the room was said to have been sprayed with anti-bug spray however, it didn't work very well. The location to the Malia strip is great, literally a five minute walk away so its a great location! There is also a pizza shop just done the road which is open all night so you can stop by anytime. The pool is nice although a little small and the bar sells good, cheap food and drink during the day. Overall an alright experience although some improvements could be made!

To start the area the apartments are in are amazing. 5 minutes to the strip.
People who run the bar are the nicest about. We had a laugh with them. And i know they laughed at the state of us most mornings asking for a pint and a sambucca to cure the death.
The apartment are basic. But have everything ya need. If ya don't like being woke up early by music bring ear plugs or get up and drink. Also my room faced a small orchard where screaming bugs lived. They definately will wake ya early. Think the air con is a must.
Mike the security guard is good craic. He won't let ya make noise at night or bring people back but sure your out drinking and if ya get the buck go to their place or the beach. He's basically doing his job. Keep him sound he'll be sound with you.
All in all i had a blast.
UP THE IRISH!

Hey Guys! Ignore the bad reviews about the Sunshine/Natali Apartments. There were 3 of us that went originally and ended up with at least 13 of us going out each night from our hotel. First of all it is situated near the strip literally around the corner less than 5min walk but you do get peace to sleep at night. It is young and Lively due to the Escapades reps - Disco Dave is a Ledgend :)!!! The Bar guy Nikos is hilarious and gives out lotsaaa free shots - his fave Raki shots (70% alcohol lethal lol.
The Rooms are basic but clean and most have air con and the manager 'Scary Mary' and her family are actually really nice if you are nice to them, for eg u want ur room moved to the poolside etc they will move you blah blah, the only thing is at night it is extremely difficult to get a girl/guy back to the hotel and the security guard can get quite crabbit if u make too much noise/ try jump in pool etc at night. Apart from that it is a really good place to stay...pool bar is good for prices and has free hour bar nights on a tuesday i believe and 2hour bar on transfer days and food/drink is really good value for money.
Towels are changed every few days and sheets once a week.
24hour pizza place right next to hotel...beach is a ten min walk - less on quads which are quite good price to hire too.Malia is pretty wild and amazing Candy and Safari club AMAZING you will love it boy/girl single/couple.Id deffo go back

I didn't actually stay in the Natali Apartments, so I cannot comment on the rooms for that part, but I did stay in the Sunshine Malia Hotel, which is joined onto the Natali Apartments, and the pool, bar, staff etc. is all shared. Of course it's not going to be an AMAZING hotel, but what do you expect for the price? You get what you pay for, and it is good value.
FOOD: We had the B&B option, which consisted of jam and toast (which was a little disappointing) but nethertheless full English breakfast is only about 4euro and it is lovely! The other menu items are also great, and reasonably priced, however we did not eat a lot here because we liked to venture out. There is plenty of seating area for when you have your food, or when you just need to get out of the sun.
POOL: Pool is great. It is rather small, and shared by two hotels, but it was never really that busy despite us going peak season time (26th July). We never had trouble getting sunbeds, which was surprising. The bar is located next to the pool, and music is played all day.
STAFF: Let's get one thing straight. Mike the security guard did scare us in the beginning, but that was just because of all the bad reviews. He is a sound guy, just doing his job, and he is actually there to protect you. When you come in from a night out, he takes your room number (by looking at your keys), and how many there are of you, to make sure that nobody else can get in (which was a nice thing to have, although I suppose many would object because they like taking people back to their hotel room). However, it made us feel safe. Give him RESPECT and he will give it to you. If your going to make tonnes of noise, of course he is going to get mad, 18-30s hotel or not. We stayed up til about 4am one night on the balcony, chatting, drinking, and he actually came up to us and thanked us for still having fun, but also being so respectful. Mary, is unfortunately, moody. Didn't really have much interaction with her. Nikos is amazing, a really funny guy. Made us laugh all the time. Luke, is also a cool guy, and get's a LOT of attention from the ladies.
There is internet available, which is always good for when you need to get your Facebook fix for the week. It's 1 euro for 10 minutes, which is plenty.
My rooms were okay. Noisy in the morning, because of the music, but hey, what do you expect. Clean, small, but ideal for what the holiday is.
Malia itself is amazing, needs no more description than that.
Overall, a good hotel for what you want. You just need a good place to sleep, ready to party the next day. And this is what you get. Beach is a little far away, especially in the heat.
Not really 18-30s, lacked a bit of livliness as times. We went down to the quiz one night for something to do before we went out, and we were the only ones that turned up, not even Craig our rep, who was "supposed" to be doing it. We didn't see Craig all week actually, which was disappointing because we didn't really get any information about the bar crawls, booze cruises etc. That though, doesn't reflect on the hotel, that's Thomas Cook. Stay here, show respect, still have fun, and you'll have an amazing time! ALSO. we had a issue with the door having a huge dent in it, and I got worried that they would think it's us (because the damages list is very long and the door replacement was 200euro!) but all was good, I think they know who damages and who doesn't. So as long as it wasn't you, you have nothing to worry about!
