I stayed in the apartments witch was'nt up to my standereds but was ok. the park is very excpensive but i went there to spend money so i was'nt to bothered about the price of things.

Just returned from mid-week holiday at Craig Tara. This was a return trip from our first visit 3 years ago and the place has gone to the dogs since then. Rubbish littered the park but that wasnt the biggest problem. Only 1/2 of the pool is open mid-week which isnt advertised anywhere. This is obviously a cost saving measure but it means that the remaining part that is open is very crowded. Had the worst ever dining experience in the restaurant, queued for 20 minutes for cold food and when we eventually sat down had a member of staff running round the dining room shouting at us to leave as soon as possible as there were 200 more people to come in. I complained to the manager only to have the member of staff approach me and stand nose to nose in the middle of the dining room arguing with me. I'm waiting to hear back from Haven about my complaint and it'll be a cold day in hell before I go back there again.

We have just returned from a 3 night weekend break at Craig Tara - 2 couples, a 5 yr old and two 2 yr olds. We only booked cos of a special cheap newspaper offer and thought the kids would love it - we're more used to 5 star hotels than carvan parks so went with very low expectations. We were pleasantly surprised and we will return because the kids loved it so much and it was a nice enough break for us. We got scorching weather which really helped!
We arrived at 3.30 which was earlier than 4pm check in. There were plenty of check in staff rushing people through. In fact a lovely man came from a side door and helped me rather than me wait for a free desk. He gave me keys and info within 2 minutes. I checked our request for 2 caravans together and he explained they were actually separated by another van so we were close so couldn't see the other van. We had twice requested vans side by side and assured it had been done by phone. He tried to move us but said due to different van sizes and grades he simply couldn't get us any closer. It wasn't a huge issue and he was very pleasant. The vans were better than we expected - clean, spacious and had more than we imagined! 2 toilets and a powerful shower, though the hot water was a bit off and on. My only complaint would be lack of sleep. Yes some people were very noisy and drunk but they're on holiday so we expected that. In fact the other couple kindly asked their rowdy teenage neighbours if they would be a little quieter after midnight on the 2nd night. They apologised and did indeed keep the noise down - very polite lager louts :-) It was the seagulls that ruined our sleep. They're like giant bears bouncing along the caravan roof and screeching at each other. Hardly anyones fault - it was a park by the sea after all!! The kids park was brilliant, the pool needs a bit of updating and a good clean and the funfair was a typical rundown wreck of a place and vastly overpriced. But hey... the kids loved it all and that's what matters. Breakfast was disgusting at Turnbery Gardens so avoid at all costs. Papa Johns pizza was yummy. The Bonga Wonga bar was grim - we went for the kids show but are thankful we had good weather and didn't spend much time there. The reps on stage on the 2nd night looked like they wanted to kill themselves.
Overall a fun time had by all and the farm next door is a brilliant day out for all the family. Wish it was near home as we'd go all the time!

Just arrived honme from a 3 night stay (8 adults) and am definitely going to re book for later this year for a 2 week holiday. I visited this camp a couple of years ago and was so disappointed I vowed never to return - Boy am I glad I changed my mind. The staff from reception all the way to maintenance were friendly, approachable, helpful and cheerful. The entertainment was great - thoroughly enjoyed myself, the van was clean and had all the home comforts I needed. I cant wait to go back

I stayed in a 2 bed apartment half board with a 1 year old and a 3 year old. It was fantastic for this age group. We have been there before but stayed in a prestige caravan. The food was really , really good. Lots of choice, free juice for kids and ice cream. The playparks and ball pool area were the childrens favourites. The apartment was clean. The bedroooms had been updated as was the bathroom. I would def go again. in fact goin another twice this year!

We stayed in Craig Tara over the Easter break. We had read previous reviews after booking and were therefore a little anxious. However, our anxieties were unfounded. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The park and grounds were very clean and well kept. We stayed in a basic pet friendly caravan. The fixtures and fittings were a little tired and worn but this did not infringe on our stay. However, in the evenings it was very very cold, so take extra blankets and sleepwear if you are travelling out of the high season summer period. There were lots of nearby activities and many of them free of charge, lots of pet friendly places to go. The pool complex is fanatastic, my three kids age 14, 9 & 6 absolutely loved it, it had something for all ages, the only thing was that it closed at 6 and my kids would have happily stayed there all night. Great access to the beach, but it is a beach for walking and not relaxing as it is very rocky and seaweedy, but with views of a beautifu sunset of an evening.

I booked a 3 night break at Craig Tara before I read the reviews on here. I was dreading going however we had a BRILLIANT HOLIDAY. We went half board staying in a 2 bedroom apartment over the Easter weekend. There was 2 adults and 2 children.
We arrived at 4.15pm as our check in time was 4pm. Only had to wait half an hour for our keys. Check in staff were friendly and gave all the kids easter eggs. The apartment itself was basic but clean and tidy. The only complaint was that it smelt a bit of smoke but that was soon rectified as I had taken a few air freshners just in case. It had a kitchen/living room area with a fire, leather couches, dining table etc. Had tea and coffee provided in the kitchen and loo roll in the bathroom. Bedrooms had comfortable beds with heaters if it got a bit cold.
Being half board we had breakfast and dinner. Food was great, plenty of choice. Entertainment great for the kids during day and in evening. Excellent swimming pool, park and facilities.
No trouble with anyone staying there, was a mix of English, Scottish and Irish people and all age groups.
Will be going back in the summer.

First of all I am not one to complain and having read the reviews on here I thought everyone was just being over the top so went ahead and booked a holiday for 9 of us (7 adults and 2 kids). After a 6 hour drive we arrived and it looked lovely, the staff at reception were helpful and I thought this isn't bad -we stood in the line at reception and then got told to go into the club at the back to collect our keys, CHAOS - absolutely packed and not organised at all and had to wait nearly 2 hours to finally check in (first thing the reviews had said)armed with keys we found the chalet - very pleased we got one of these because from the outside they looked lovely, went past a gang of rowdy drunken teenagers to get inside and OMGoodness!! Thought I'd just walked into a slum - I have never experienced such a mess - no locks on the windows coz theyd been broken into that many times, shower hanging off, dirty windows/walls/floors and my kids bedroom window had a 2" gap between the glass and the frame. Off I went to reception to make my first complaint, they were fantastic and the girl even agreed how bad they were so moved us to a caravan (sterling village) much better!! However no one could sleep because of the noise outside - music, drunken teenagers fighting but eventually at 3:00 am it calmed down and we got 3 hours of sleep before our kids woke up, it was the same every night. The food was OK and staff helpful, went swimming and had a fantastic time and the farm next door was the best day out we have had for a long time.
On the last day we had packed most of our stuff so went for breakfast, we thought check out was 10:30. Got back to a very EMPTY caravan, cleaners had been in and thrown out the lot (yes in bins!) my childrens medication (that has to be stored in a cool place) clothes, food, cot - yep in a bin somewhere, got the cot and blankets but the rest we never found along with a substantial amount of other things. Went to reception and really went to town on them but guess what?! They couldnt give a damn, all I can say is thank god our children didnt take bad on the way home because we didnt have their medication on us. So glad to be home and in all the 10 years of holidaying with Haven this has been the worst camp ever. The amount of people who were complaining whilst we were there was unbelievable, some didnt even stay. By all means try it like we did but dont pin your hopes on having a great time.

Me and my family went to Craig Tara in August and it was the best haven park we had been to,(we have been to several). We went half board in a comfort chalet, ok it was small but clean, we had a self catering chalet. My 3 kids said it was there favourite holiday out of all the places we have been to including Isle of Wight. I was a bit apprehensive about going after reading the reviews but I needn't have worried it was brilliant, the food was superb, the entertainment was good, the funstars were fabulous with the kids and we were lucky with the weather it only rained 1 day and the rest of the time it was lovely which was suprising, we didn't even need coats on. People have been moaning about the entertainment being for kids but haven IS for kids. There was adult entertainment too in the atlantic bar with live groups and singers. Overall it just shows people have their own opinions but it was brill.

Hi I am an not one for writting reviews but in this case i had too. I am not long back from craig tarra the 8 of use went this included 6 adults and 2 children. I really dont know were to start when we arrived there we went into the bonga wonga and waited for our keys which was fine when we got to the chalet that me and my fiancee were sharing with his sister and her 2 kids we realised that there wasnt much room for all of use. and the chalet was filthy! the sofas were caked in dust and the wardrope was falling to peices needed to be careful in case in fell over. We managed to make do with what we had when we went outside we noticed that there was a lot of glass on the grass next to the chalet were we were staying.Plus my sister in law asked for a chalet that was down stairs due to her having small children. But she had to huff prams and stuff up the stairs everyday. The entertainment was shocking! it was the same shows every night! the same rock show in the atlantic on the sunday and on the wednesday night i could not believe what i was seeing. Bonga wonga was rubbish that shut early and all that was open was the atlantic but as i said that was pretty much the same most nights, even the reps were no help either one of them couldnt wait to finish when she was working the music in the bonga wonga. We ended up by the end of the holiday just staying in and having a drink as we were sooo cheesed off with the place! The shop staff in the gift shop were not very pleasant either my sister in law asked for a sundae and the guy said that he didnt have the stuff to make it just cones and tubs and thats it which was a complete lie!! as the stuff that he had to use was behind him but he just could not be bothered making it!! i am sorry but this place has seriously went down hill since the last time i was there so disapointed also the prices were rediclous my sister in law bought four cones 99s and it cost her a tenner! nothing a tall to do during the day we found ourselves at a loss we went to the swimming and did roller disco but that was at a push having to ask the girl to put it on for use. The park is half the size than it used to be! sooo much more i would like to add but i could go on and on.....never going back there again!! my mother in law has put a complaint in hoping to hear from them soon. Go if you have tonnes of money ohh remortgage your house first then you will have a great time!
