Very nice park and overall very clean good, location is good with plenty to do on site and off.
The sky line is very impressive with always plenty going on free fair ground rides for the kids. the only down side is bar prices and smokie in entertainment.

" The Butlins resort in Skegness is... "

The Butlins resort in Skegness is superb. I have 4 children age range 8 - 16 years. And all of my children’s needs were catered for. They had the kids clubs, cinema, entertainment which included a concert by the cheeky girls.
There was the swimming pools - all my children love swimming. The fairground rides were for all age groups, which was a real bonus for our youngest daughter. There were regular shows involving clowns, circus, cowboys, and noddy.
The reps were nice, and went out of their way to assist our 13 year old daughter who has severe dyslexia and learning difficulties. They were very kind to her.
The beach in Skegness was clean. The town itself was great for shopping.
They had disco’s for the children nightly.
There were go karts, trampolines, and play parks. Also paintball, laser quest, football, basketball and other ball games for the children to take part in.
The food we had - breakfast and evening meals were delicious.
A lovely mix for meat eaters and vegetarians like my daughter and I.
I would recommend Butlins for families with different aged children, as they cater for them all, and mum’s and dad’s can put their feet up whilst the children are entertained.
" Butlins has changed since I last... "
Submitted By: Mr C Hannam
Butlins has changed since I last went. It's now full of gambling slot machines and arcade games. To get into the 'Skyline' tent from the caravan park you must go through a tunnel which was flooded in parts when it rained, and then corralled through an amusement arcade. Once inside the 'big tent' there was very little of substance happening... The whole place resonated with a mind numbing echo sound that I can only describe as sounding like one was in a huge swimming pool. Families with young children seemed to be wondering around the tent aimlessly, and the 10+ years children seemed to be on the arcade machines, no doubt spending their parents hard earnt £1 coins.
Afternoon entertainment was via a couple of brief appearances of a small number of costume wearing entertainers on a small stage inside the tent, which was sited in front of a crowded seating area where parents could grab a beer whilst listening to the deafening sound of arcade machines resonating in the background, causing the performer to turn the mic' up loudly which also echoed, to the point of being incoherent at times. The sound in that place has to be heard to be believed!
The evening entertainment was in the 'Centre Stage' club. Doors opened at 7pm to let the long queue of people in and if you were lucky you got a seat. Then you had to listen to 1 hour of loud pre-recorded pop music via the speakers before any action began. At 8pm - 9pm the resident singers & high kickers came on to do their routine. I can't tell you what happened at 9pm because we didn't last that long.
As for the food, that was a challenge too. Some of the staff working at Butlins seemed to struggle with the English language, so getting the food order right proved a little difficult, especially once when our £12.99 pizza's from Papa Johns still hadn't arrived after 40 mins due to our order not even being processed. At this point they were stopping customers coming in due to a shortage of ingredients for the pizzas. We left and went to the Yacht Club next door only to be told they wasn't accepting self-caterers, I’ve never eaten so many Burger Kings!
The funfair was ok, if a little small. There was a charge of £1.50 to go on a bouncy castle etc, which wasn't covered by the free passes.
We encountered 2 redcoats in total whilst there, so there was little in the way of information re: something to do.
We didn't last the week and went home early, bored and in need of some good food. Never again!
A pretty negative report I know. But something’s wrong when you find shopping at Tesco's in Skegness more enjoyable than that dreaded 'BIG TENT'

We stayed in Silver self-catering, which was Ok, but not a very good standard. There was sick on the carpets, the shower flooded and the oven door fell off. BUT, for children, this is the best holiday you could offer them. There is something for them to do from 8am to 11pm every day. The pool is great, with a shallow, beach type end for the babes and water flumes for the older kids.
The theme was Noddy when we went, which our daughter loved - I know it’s changed to Bob the Builder now. She was never bored and was worn out by the end of the day, which is worth the money we paid in itself!
For adults, there is the new Spa, which is fantastic. I had a scalp massage, which was out of this world.
The food is very expensive and there is not a lot of choice for self caterers, but it’s worth going into the Gold restaurant for their buffets, well worth it.
We would definitely go again, but will be going for Gold full board next time.
