I was a bit worried after reading some of these reviews but to be fair we couldnt complain about a thing. For what u pay you get ur moneys worth and more...seriously do some people think they're going to get the ritz when they dont pay very much! Me and my fiance went and stayed in a silver room. We thought the room was tidy and clean and what we expected. We ate in the buffet style food court and the choice was good enough again couldnt complain for what we paid. Plenty to do there, good entertainment and very helpful and pleasent staff! Defo looking at going again and so are the family.
- Advice: fun, clean, relaxing...definately worth what you pay

I have just come back from a weekend at Butlins, I've been going since I was about 2 and now I am 14 and this was my 5th time this year.I go with my friend and then a member of either of our families. the accommodation is good and clean, with pictures on the walls to decorate it. There is a TV with a few channels but with all that is going on there is no time to watch it. we usually stay in silver self catering or silver or silver plus half board. if we are staying in half board then we usually eat in the yacht club as it is less busy, but the others are good to.there is a variety of different foods and different food is served during the holiday. You can get into your room at 4 but because we are gold members I think we can go in earlier. To be a gold member you need to have been to Butlins a certain number of times in the last few years.
There is always something to do at Butlins, there are shows that go on all through the day, mainly kid shows, but some are good for the whole family, including the pantomime which is brilliant! If there are no shows on that you are interested in then the swimming pool is free and open from 10-6 with special sessions for younger children and adults. there is also a cinema showing some of the newest films out, a lazer quest, bowling alley, go carting, bumper boats and you can also hire out bikes which are always fun! although there are additional charges for some of the activities they are worth the money :) the funfair is free with some good rides and there is also bobs yard with rides for the younger children. there is also a massive arcade in the skyline with lots or games as well as a few other arcades around the resort. there are always lots of shows in the evening in the skyline for children and centre stage and reds for the whole family. if you want a good seat then I would suggest that you que as having a good view of the show makes it a lot more fun and enjoyable. If you are wanting to see the x factor and Britain's got talent stars then i would suggest watching them in reds are the stage is lower down and you are closer to them, it's also smaller so less people are allowed in. All the staff there are really nice and they all know my friend and I really well, so that just adds to the fun of the holiday! The redcoats are so nice and frienldy and work really hard. The skyline gang are so funny and great with children and keep in character the whole time, and are really fun to talk to ( I'm 14 and still love them ;) ) the centre stage cast do the shows sound of the underground and king meets queen, the shows are truly brilliant! Everyone that works there is just amazing, friendly and easy to talk to :)
there are eating places on site but they are quite expensive, so I would suggest eating out in minehead town or buying food from tesco or the new morrisons. The hairy dog pub in town does good deals there is a carvery for a good price. There are also fish and chip shops and there is a little cafe which does food and does sundaes, which is really nice. there are also gift shops and the usual shops like boots, wh smiths and so on. the beach is great and is opposite the resort.
A Butlins holiday is really good for everyone even adults and teenagers will enjoy themselves as there is so much to do. the rooms aren't dirty so don't listen to the people saying bad stuff about it. if it was so bad would you really expect be to go there? no. so don't listen, and book a Butlins holiday and have a great time! the holiday will also be a lot more fun if you enjoy yourself and get involved, as sitting there moaning isn't exactly going to much it fun. I'm going back in December for the Christmas fantasy break and I cant wait! hope this helps you decide if a Butlins holiday is right for you :)
I LOVE BUTLINS.

we went to the 80s weekend it was brillant BUT was bitten all over also my mum partner was too in silver accomadation. i went to my gp the next day as i did not know what why i was completly covererd in bites and my gp confirmed bed bug bites and im on medication as well as cream. It gets worse as bed bugs can travel in luggage i have paid £100 pest control to pestiside my home was not allowed back for 5 hours as have a dog a 3 children. i was advised to take all clotheing to my laundrate to have cleaned and in tumble dryer heat kills em. It has shrunk all our clothes costing another £50 bill plus £20 electric tumbleing all our cooats ect. I have spoken to butlins they have sent health & safety out and they said they could not find anything and they will have a bug expert looking on fri. I have spoke to pest control and been told they need to take furnite apart as bed bugs live in beds cuboards behind light switchs only come out at night. The person i spoke to on phone at butlins said were do i live and then said in london there is alot of bed bugs as i explained i live an hour and half drive from london and have not been to london im a stay at home mum. Then she asked if pest control found anything at my home i explained no he did not i took this as a precaution. How rude i have never had this problem did not know what the bites were and it happened in there acomadtion and my mum as well im fuming so waiting till fri but as bedbugs can live for months with out feeding i cant see the problem going away. I have also taken photos of my bites im covered in them.

My family and i were horrified when we entered our silver accomadation, the smell hit you as you first got in, then almost everywhere you looked the walls had been punched and had stains all over them. The bed sheets were damp and uninviting, the carpets were stained and full of crumbs, our bathroom was dirty and invested with woodlice. We asked to be moved the following morning which they did but to our dismay it was worse than the one we'd just come from, the sofa was covered with dirty stains and was torn in many places, the kitchen had stains up the walls and all the bedrooms and the bathroom windows were plastered in mould! the bedroom furniture was chipped and dirty and covered in dust. The bathroom was filthy and i've never seen so much mould. Our bed was a joke it had blood stains on the sheets and the bed dipped in the middle. We did'nt even stay in this accomadation for more than an hour, we left that evening. The food court was dirty, smelly and the cutlery was caked in old food, how enviromental health have'nt shut them down is a mystery! Our children were so upset and dissapointed, the parks and the fair were shut before 5.30pm, the only place for them to play was in the arcades! they did'nt eat anything in the food court, they could'nt sleep in the accomadation they were glad to visit a mac donalds on the way home!! We regret not reading the reviews before booking our 'holiday' if we had we probably would not of wasted our money and put ourselves through that nightmare!!

i went to butlins in minehead were we arrived at 11.30 but could not get in our rooms till 4, had to hang around waiting to put our cases in the room. once in the acom was dirty and smells like some one had died. it was horifiying
that night we went in to some of the clubs, reds, irish bar and centre stage. reds was very old looking and over priced for what entertaiment was on. irish bar was ok. and centre stage was brill. some good entertainment on, had a issue at the bar which was resolved by the assistant manager matt and bar team holly. the food court was not all that good. food cold and unapatising. will not go back there again.

Just got back from Butlins Minehead where we stayed for 3 nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with our 6 year old grandson - we were in the Silver accommodation - half board. Arrived there at lunchtime on the Friday but even though rooms (which were in a long single storey block) were ready, couldn't get in till 4 pm. We had 2 bedrooms and a shower/toilet room and whilst I would say that they weren't dirty, they could have been a lot cleaner. There was no ironing board or shower mat and both of these took some time to arrive. On the plus side, there's loads to do here for children - our grandson loved it all! Unfortunately, you have to pay extra for lots of things (bouncy castle £3 for 10 mins; go karts £5; bumper boats £4; bicycle hire £7.50 for 30 mins.) which soon adds up. Swimming pool good, could do with more changing booths. Entertainment in the evening was good, especially the Redcoats, who were excellent and worked very hard. Food was good - I was very surprised because I'm vegetarian and had assumed that I'd be living on cheese and tomato pizza all weekend but no, there were lots of vegggie choices - all good. We ate in the Food Court which was a bit like the old school dinner hall but as it was only for 3 days, didn't mind too much! All in all, a good break for our grandson but 3 days was long enough!
- Advice: Be prepared to pay extra for lots of things

Spent over £2000 on deluxe half board at Minehead. Patio overgrown with weeds, windows covered in seagull poo, front door didn't lock properly. Beer and vomit stains on the floor, smellt toilets in thee bars and restaurants.
Arrived Friday afternoon, my 6 year son was sick a few times Saturday night. We took him to be checked out at the medical centre Sunday morning. By Sunday lunchtime Guest Services had phoned us and told us we had to leave asap and we would get a partial refund as a GOOD WILL GESTURE! (Even though we were happy to stay in quarantine for 48 hours). My son was physically fine by then and we never had any illness.
Butlins do not care about the families just ££££££s Billy Butlin would turn in his grave SHAME ON YOU!
I have contacted the press about this.
They cannot contain their bugs, but are happy to penalise people who are responsible and report them. Unless you are really, really ill, stay in your chalet and tell no one!

We have just got back from our holiday it cost just under £500 for 3 adults and 2 children we all had a great time.We travelled from our home town in Eastbourne it took 4 hours to get there but it was worth it. We went swimming everyday in the lovely warm pool the girls were busy everyday with the funfair seeing Angelina Ballerina, Lazy Town. We saw Jamie Archer from X Factor and Stavros Flatley from Britains Got Talent, a tribute to Lady Gaga and Robbie Williams. It worked out at £20 per person per day and that included breakfast and dinnner. Thank -You Butlins
