I used my airmiles , I have been saving up over the years , Myself and my wife treated ourselves on my wifes 40 th birthday to a weekend in paris . The airmiles covered the flights and hotel , a bargain . The hotel was clean and well situated just of the champseelyees sorry if i spelt it wrong . We had bed and breakfast only the hotel did not do evening meals as only 3 star , but not a problem lots of eating places just outside along the street . A well placed hotel very easy for sight seeing close to the metro and walking distance to the river seine and the eiffel tower . we walked most of the time , even thought hire bikes were situated at the end of the street , our room was comfortable & clean with a decent shower . Breakfast in the morning was good with a good selection to choose from . we stayed from friday to sunday , on the sunday our flight was late in the afternoon so when we booked out we asked if we could leave our suitcase at the hotel that morning so as to go site seeing , the lady on reception was very helpful putting our cases in a small room . when we came back later to collect the suitcase the room was packed with cases , lots of people had the same problem late flight , we have always find hotels are helpful in this respect and the Merlot was no exception . overall we had a good weekend with a sunny weekend as well.
