Submitted By: Mr J BlackThe apartment (2/3 persons) had small separate double bedroom and single bed in the main area and bathroom. The cooking facilities, like most greek apartments, are spartan (don't forget your tin/bottle opener) - but there is an electric kettle!! Air conditioning cost 70 euros for 2 weeks. Very clean overall but could do with some updating.
The pool and surroundings are exeptional. Plenty of sunbeds. a tiled pool with separated childrens area and pleasant poolside bar which serves drinks and snacks at local prices. Owners provide weekly BBQ with greek dancing. Although we didn't take part (not being groupie people) looked, from the amount of food being prepared, very good value - 15 euros (10 for children) including wine.
Gouves (Kato Gouves) is a pleasant quiet resort with a paved seafront that stretches for a couple of miles. Main shopping and tavernas about 20 mins walk from Artemis. which is situated at one end of the resort with a few tavernas and couple supermarkets and car hire places nearby. There is also an abandoned US military base (home of the Crete aquarium which is worth a visit) just up the road.
Being only 15/20 minutes drive from Heraklion Airport there is some aircraft noise, planes pass over every few minutes at some times of the day. but this didn't bother us.

Submitted By: Mrs M StockmanWe meet up with other families from the UK. This year will see us returning, can't wait. The only complaint is the flight times that have been changed this year and we will be arriving and leaving in the early hours of the morning but this is not the fault of the family it is due to the fact that Thomas Cook have taken over Airtours.
Our thanks to Mama, Papa, Sotiris and Pedro who is a family friend.

Submitted By: Miss K McgrathWe went on to main street which where all the restarants and bars are, there is a bar called O'Conners which is an Irish bar its nice and you can drink beers from back home like fosters and guiness, if your not feeling adventurse to try the local beers. There is a great deal of reastrants there too from italian, chinese and local dishes even a kabab if you fancy at the end of the night! The bars have changed both times I've been there, seems to be something different the second time I went. Theres family bars and music bars and shops all together so if you have had enought of music you can do a bit of shopping as well.
There is a very nice harbour there with lovely boats to look at as well as a light house and you can even join the locals in a spot of fishing. If you like water parks theres a coach which picks you up from the hotel then after you have explored the local area you can go back for a nice quite drink with candle lit tables by the pool, also at Artemis Apartments they have a bbq and kareoke for a bit of fun.

The beach is only a short walk away, and Gouves town centre is only 10 minutes away. The apartments are very clean and spacious, and the beds are very comfortable.

Beach is gorgeous and just a short walk. Tons of restaurants to choose from. Went with four friends and had a ball!
We had a tremendous time at the BBQ night and made friends with just about all the other guests.
In fact, it is so good; we are all going back on 8th May this year. Can't wait!

Submitted By: Miss J ArmsrongIt felt like you were part of the family. The rooms were spotless, spacious and cleaned regularly. During our stay we attended a bbq and participated in some traditional Greek dancing.
I would recommend these apartments to both couples and families as there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. The apartments are about a 5 minute walk from the beach and close to other amenities.
