we have been going to the artemis apartments for the last ten years we have never met nicer people. This year there is 18 of us going. Everywhere is spotless.

We spent two weeks at the Artemis apartments duing July/August. Had a brilliant time and the family really make this a great place to stay. The Greek night was great with dancing etc. The food was super I would recommend it to everyone. Gouves was a lovely quiet resort and we enjoyed lovely home cooked meals in the Filoxenia. We definitely intend to return next year.

Have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the family ran Artemis Apartments in Gouves, which we booked only 3 weeks before we went. we were greeted by Sato when we arrived and were impressed by how welcomming the whole family were. The apartments are 2* but I would like to say they are 2***. The pool area has lots off sun beds and we never had to get up at 5am to reserve one, and the pool bar area was excellent and the food very good especially the 'homemade chips' and the chocolate milk shakes. The Artenis BBQ was a fab night and the family make a really great effort with the food and the entertainment, its a great way to get to know everyone, but if you want to keep yourself to yourself there is no pressure for you to join in. The resort has some fab restraunts our favourites being Porto on the sea front and Filoxenia in the main shopping and bar area. Take our word for it the Artemis is a great place to stay for a budget holiday in Gouves and we would recommend that you give it a try.

We booked the Artemis apartments after looking at the reviews on holiday watchdog. We weren't disappointed. My family and I spent a fabulous 2 weeks in Gouves, staying with Stavros and his family. The Greek night is not to be missed, the apartments are exceptionally clean and the whole experience was wonderful. We can't wait to go back!

My husband hugh and i first went to Artemis apts in 2001 with my parents and daughter who was 12 at the time.We returned last May for 2 weeks just the 2 of us. We had a fantastic time.Lovely apts basic but clean.BBQ night on the sunday was the first one we had been to it was a great night food lovely, with karaoke after good laugh. There was a good crowd there that fornight.We returned in sept for a week.we ate nearly every night on both holidays at the Filoxenia the food was always good, i had something one night that i didnt like and they didnt charge for it.Not their fault i just didnt like it and we got free drinks as well.One other night we were there very busy and only 2 staff turned in and we got the wrong order and again we got money off and free drinks.We are returning to Artemis at the end of may this year and are looking forward to seeing Mama and Papa,Sotiris and Petros. One bar i would greatly recommend is The Anfeild bar run by Thomas and his wife Anna we have known them for 9 years but only met up with them again last year. Dont be put off by the name its not a Liverpool bar just a bar that shows quite a bit of sport ,but Thomas and Anna are very friendly and the food they serve is excellent.

To Stavros, Artemis, Sotiris & Pedro. Thank you,thank you, we have just returned from a wonderful two week holiday at the Artemis Apartments. We stayed in a one bed apartment which was basic but beautifully clean & well maintained. The main pool, children's pool and bar area were excellent. The Artemis is the friendliest & most welcoming hotel I have ever had the pleasure in staying at. There was my dad & partner, myself, husband and our two young children (3yrs & 1yr), we all can't wait to go back. Gouves itself is quite but a very friendly resort, we ate in a lot of restaurants, all good but there were two I need to mention, the Backus restaurant near the old Gouves village also the Mylos restaurant, both were lovely but Mylos had the edge. The weekly BBQ night at the Artemis was so good we had to go two times absolutely fantastic, highly recommended. Thanks to all at the Artemis, not forgetting the cleaner, for a lovely holiday, see you next year Michelle & family.

A complex of three blocks owned and run by very friendly family.We were in the original block facing the pool and with a small balcony views of the sea and overlooking fields.
The apartment (2/3 persons) had small separate double bedroom and single bed in the main area and bathroom. The cooking facilities, like most greek apartments, are spartan (don't forget your tin/bottle opener) - but there is an electric kettle!! Air conditioning cost 70 euros for 2 weeks. Very clean overall but could do with some updating.
The pool and surroundings are exeptional. Plenty of sunbeds. a tiled pool with separated childrens area and pleasant poolside bar which serves drinks and snacks at local prices. Owners provide weekly BBQ with greek dancing. Although we didn't take part (not being groupie people) looked, from the amount of food being prepared, very good value - 15 euros (10 for children) including wine.
Gouves (Kato Gouves) is a pleasant quiet resort with a paved seafront that stretches for a couple of miles. Main shopping and tavernas about 20 mins walk from Artemis. which is situated at one end of the resort with a few tavernas and couple supermarkets and car hire places nearby. There is also an abandoned US military base (home of the Crete aquarium which is worth a visit) just up the road.
Being only 15/20 minutes drive from Heraklion Airport there is some aircraft noise, planes pass over every few minutes at some times of the day. but this didn't bother us.

2007 saw us return to the Artemis to be greated once again by the family who never forget you! Our eldest son came with us this year and he said it was everything we had made it out to be. The Artemis are run by a wonderful family who will go out of their way to make your time there fantastic. The rooms are kept really clean and the pool is fantastic.
We meet up with other families from the UK. This year will see us returning, can't wait. The only complaint is the flight times that have been changed this year and we will be arriving and leaving in the early hours of the morning but this is not the fault of the family it is due to the fact that Thomas Cook have taken over Airtours.

I would just like to say my family have been 3 years running and going back again in june 08, it is situated in a quiet part of the resort which suits us, the rooms are clean,the
pool is one of the cleanest i have seen,the food is great but most of all the family that own and run the artemis apartments are absolutely brilliant - very friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them, BBQ nights are great fun -the mum who is called Artemis and the dad Stavros does all the cooking (yummy), the sons are salteros and demetris are great with the children and not forgetting Pedro who works behind the bar, you feel so welcome there as you can see from my review.We LOVE it there.
