A place of peace and comfort
6 / 10
Aug 2011, GREEN ARMY

Just arrived home these last couple of days with the MRS.
First thoughts, smurf huts-very confined and no air conditioning.Wife not happy one bit,did request a move which we did get 24hrs later.A lot better settled,2 seperate rooms,3 beds, top floor plus aircon.
General view of the place, looked tidy and everything in order,so we thought. In the kitchen a distinct smell of gas even though the supply is meant to be capped off.The flow of water being discharged from the sink was leaving very slowly.(blockage)
Bathroom-leaking taps and a general lack of maintenance-needs attention to the place. As for the host,we could,nt praise them enough-they made us feel most welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ,S and greek dancing.
We will remember you all for a great deal of time to come
Thankyou IRIS/ALEX/SPERUS/STEPHEN/IZETA.
Love-TONY AND SUE JONES(GREEN ARMY).

I Loved my stay at the PalmGrove hotel. it was amazing. i was in the small blue chalets at the rear. The donkey at the back, we named him 'Billy'. He was like my second horse, as i have a horse at home who we kept feeding him the large pears from the pear tree by the pool and gave him water everyday. i went on a horseriding treck along the beach, very fun although, not for experienced riders. more of a plod along relaxation ride. Over all corfu was great. so friendly and made a few great friends who unfortuantly i lost touch with as it was 2 years ago. sidari is abit of a quiet town but lively when you know the people. greek shows were fab and i got to sit on a fire burning table and was picked up by a man with his mouth! amazing fire shows and lovely sandy beachs. i was with family after i wanted a relaxing holiday after my family had recieved some bad news and corfu was brilliant for that. amazing!
i would highly recomend to anyone. especially kassiopi, corfu town and sidari.
Palmgrove was awsome and would love too go back but unfortuantly , next year im going to turkey lol.

Have recently returned from Palm Grove in Sidari and all three of us have had a great time !! The family are all excellent and they work extremely hard to make your holiday a great time. The apartments are fairly basic but clean and comfortable (but thats greece for you,and I have stayed in a lot worse and payed a lot more too !)The location of Palm grove is excellent as it is set back off the road in a nice quiet area and is only about a 20 minute walk into sidari centre (very busy and a little tacky but some really nice restaurants and people)You can go anywhere in sidari by taxi for 5 euros !! The greek night at Palm grove is excellent and the food was superb and the fire dancing by alexis was amazing (me thinks a little too much whisky made it more exciting). The pool area is always kept clean and tidy and the main meeting and eating area is quite pretty with its large umbrella's to sit and drink under in the shade.I would definately recommend the Palm Grove to people as the family are lovelly and is in a great location (not too far from the beach or local supermarket)Just past the Supermarket is a great Italian restaurant called VENEZIA you must go there !! and you must try the Stifado and Kleftico (both local dishes)

After reading some negative comments...

Sep 2008, soggy

After reading some negative comments about PG I thought I would keep an open mind leading up to my holiday, things got off to a good start at PG,bus dropped my wife myself and two kids off outside the entrance to PG,the place looked very nice and quiet just what we were looking for in a greek holiday, the owners wife greeted us and we were shown to our apartment,it was basic and clean had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and surrounding grounds, very nice,we were dreading getting one of the smurf huts around the back of the complex.
Week one, settled in used the pool, bar, plenty of room around the the pool for sunbathing found the food and drink more expensive than anywhere in sadari, best to make up your own snacks in the appartment with food bought from one of the supermarkets 10mins down the road.
We found PG to be very noisy all day and late into the early hours with loud music, even if the bar was'nt being used by guests, the bar staff,(owners sons),mainly used the bar for there own entertainment, hogging the pool table from guests was the norm most evenings.
The chambermaids ha ha,considering this is a small complex of appartments with not many rooms to clean, struggled to keep the rooms as we found them when we arrived,I had to complain that towels and sheets were not being changed and rooms not cleaned infact the towels and sheets were changed only once in the two weeks.
On the last Thursday our double bed collapsed with us and the kids sat on it resulting in sharp nails scratching my wifes toe,a complaint was made about this that morning, the owner dewly fixed the bed 8pm that evening with no appology to my wife.
Also that day five coach loads of youngsters arrived for a pool party organised by the owner, guests not notified that the place was to be invaded and all but one family left the poolside and the complex for the beach.
All in all the PG appartment complex is nice but the management of it is poor,Iwould not stay there again but we liked Sadari and Corfu and will be booking somewhere with better costomer care for a more relaxing holiday next year.

I just came back fro Sidari and i absolutely loved it!!!!
i was a little shocked with the hotel as 2 yeas ago we were in a very nice hotel in sidari. i isnt bad, its just the rooms are small and no balcony on our room. however, we only were in these to sleep.
pool and bar were very nice. the family are very nice specially Iris, Spiros who was a laugh, and his girlfriend josie. Absolutely loved the holiday, not a bad word about it.
thinkin about going back to palm grove in sept. not too far walk from main resort - bars, clubs and beach.
recommended to everyone. always something to do.
Char (19 years old)

Jul 2008, Mrs J Perry

Just returned from one week at these apartments and cant beleive they have a three star rating. The rooms are very small dark and not very clean. The cleaner comes in every day to empty the bin in the toilet thats all. No toilet rolls or clean towels all week. Someone was sick outside our apartment in front of the pool and this was never cleaned up. The only staff we saw all week was the pool/bar guy and the cleaner no kidding. The reception area was like a ghost town. There was no atmosphere or entertainment. From the roadside the place looked very run down. People tended to go out all day only returning to change which is a shame so much could be made of the place with some effort as the pool is nice and the location is great, only five minutes from the beach and strip etc. Food in Sidari not bad although not as nice as other Greek islands we have been to. Beaches ok although watersports at the beach are quite expensive this year. All in all, been there done that and wont be returning especially to these apartments.

Palm Grove was quite but it was lovely the staff was really polite and me and my family loved the rooms. The walk was a bit long but worth it, we didn’t have any insects in the room they were clean the bed sheets were changed every 2 today’s.
I loved the holiday and I liked to go back next year.
We didn’t go out on a day only to the supermarket and ventured on the night. We went along the beach a couple of times it wasn’t like the beaches I have been on before, it was nice and sandy.
Me and my dad went on a horse riding trip it was fabulous I liked to do that if I went back next year.
If you go to Palm Grove you'll enjoy it because we did!!!

Just come back today. This place is...

Sep 2007, Mr Rob Hardy

Just come back today. This place is absolutely brill. Ideal for old and young alike, this place boasts a great pool, clean and tidy accomodation, well stocked bar and if you venture out late enough you may even get a larger than life look at the famous Greek "fire dancing".
The smurf huts are a little on the scary side when first arriving but you soon grow to love them and you have everything you need in there to prepare your food. This place is also only a short walk to the supermarket and main resort of Sidari.
This is a family run venue with very pleasant, welcoming people who will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable.
Thanks to Alexio and all his family for a great week in Sidari. Be warned however, this place can get quite warm, so be prepared.
