Well what can i say except brill, we had a great time, spiros the (bloody greek) as he liked to call himself made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
We stayed in the 2 bed appartments at the rear of the complex they were basic but clean. The pool area was clean and tidy there was no rubbish anywhere.
The bar area and restaurant were clean and the service was excellent and real value for money the food was great and the menu had plenty of choice.
Spiros 1 is in a rural area, but only a five minute walk from roda village.
Overall we had a great holiday.
Remember you are on holiday so just chill and enjoy it you earned it!!!!!

We were made very welcome and there is a warm atmosphere. The few meals we had were nice and reasonably priced. The rooms were clean. We stayed in a studio at the back of the main building with a view of what could be a lovely garden if the broken fride was removed and the rubbish disposed of. Having stayed in Corfu and visited other parts of Greece I knew it would be basic but this is the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in.The beds were falling apart, there was damp in the wardrobe and kitchen cupboard, virtually no cooking utensils, etc... I would not consider staying there again unless the place had been updated. I feel it is a shame the rooms have let the Spiros down as the place has really does have a lovely atmosphere.

I've just returned from a FANTASTIC holiday at Sprios no. 1 and I will definately be going back next year!!
Spiros and his family make you feel so welcome, they are so nice. Spiros is a greek del boy, he is hilarious and he's sons are gorgeous!!!
The apartments are basic, but if you want the Ritz, pay Ritz prices!!! We had a two bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and balcony overlooking the pool and it was just what we needed. The apartment was clean and the kitchen had all you needed (kettle, toasty machine, fridge, hob and all plates/cuttlery/pans etc), we ate out most nights though as the restaurant at Sprios was lovely, the food was beautiful and really quite cheap.
Honestly, we couldn't have had a more enjoyable time at Spiros No. 1 and would recommend it to anyone!!!

Well what a fab time. Year after year Spiros and his Sons continue to make people welcome and ensure they have a great holiday to remember. Im not sure the bad reviewers on here are talking about the same place as when ever I have stayed the cleaners have come in and changed the beds and sheets and bins daily, and if you leave glasses out after late night drinks they even wash them up, which considering it is all self catering accomodation I think is prety remarkable. I have never experienced poor hygiene or cleanliness here.
Spiros and his entire family run the apartments and cant do more to make you feel like part of their family. I had honey on toast for breakfast one day, and was raving about the taste of the honey, well, off Spiros went on his motorbike and along came a pot of honey for me to take home. I call that friendly!
Spiros Wife runs the kitchen and I crave her scrambled eggs! (not very Greek I know, but they are so creamy and tasty) I also love the Greek food and his Greek night really is not to be missed.
As for the people saying the prices are changed, I have not found this and have been in late September as wel as mid July and have always found drinks to be the same. In all, this is a well run, unspoilt family business that gives me that something extra from a holiday. Spiros, his wife, his 2 sons and their girlfriends have always been friendly welcoming and helpful, whether you eat and drink their or not!
I could not recommend the place more, you may not get a fully fitted kitchen like you have at home, but you wouldnt expect to on a self catering holiday.
Every morning you see Spiros out in the gardens with his watering can and every morning you see him cleaning the pool. I love it and will return next year, I already cant wait! I feel like I am going home when I go here and I feel like I am visiting my family.

My first holiday abroad. couldnt have asked for a better place. The Greek night was great everyone got involed. No matter your age group there is something there for everyone, you are never bored.
Plenty to eat drink and many places to visit. We tried the horse riding which is just 5 mins walk. If you fancy something a bit quite side try the beach just a little further down from where the horses are kepted. See the turtles as you just to into the town. Kids loved to take bread to feed them. food is not badly priced.
Just got back to manchester and booked again for this year. Cant wait to see Them all again.

We stayed at Spiros in May 2004 and had a fantastic time, absolutely brilliant. George is very warm and will do anything he can for you.
Ok, the apartments are very basic but this is Greece and the pool area is absolutely stunning at night. The rooms as I say are pretty basic but you have everything that you need and like most apartments in Greece you get a kitchen area with tables and chairs, a bathroom and your bedrooms.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor right next to the pool and Spiros is in a quiet area of Sidari which we liked as my mum came with us and she didn’t like anything to noisy.
We returned to Sidari in Oct 2006 but we couldn’t get into Spiros, we had to make do with Louisa apartments at the Canal d’amour area and they were terrible to say the least but we made sure we went to see George and he remembered us from the 2 years previous and welcomed us with free drinks.
We will definitely go to Spiros again if we can get in that is, you know it’s a good place when it’s fully booked all season.

Spiros no 1 are great for families and couples. Roda is lovely, I must say that Smilleys restaurant has the best view of Roda and the food is amazing. If you have kids the Tropicana has go-karts and a bouncy castle, food good and reasonably priced. The Roda Park has lovely breakfast, very cheap.
When going to the beach cut through Costas horses, it is less pebbly and there's a lovely bar. You must go to the Greek night at Spiros well worth it for lovely Greek food and traditional entertainment.
The pool is the cleanest I have ever seen (look at the Silver Beach complex and compare!!). Spiros, Philip, Thomas are great hosts. Children are well catered for with free goodies! MY SON CRIES TO GO BACK TO SEE SPIROS!
Having spent 4 weeks in the past few years at Spiros no 1 I can't wait to go back again with my new baby and introduce him to 'Spiros the bloody good greek'! Hello to all the friends we have made at Spiros over the years! From Christina, Andrew, Adam and Jack xx

I really didn't like Corfu from the second I arrived. It's really scruffy.
The apts were really nice though, not that I cooked. the bathrooms were a bit horrible.
Spiros is a lovely bloke, off his head, if you don't like mixing with people don't come here because it's a very social place, if you want to meet people and have a laugh and a drink, it's perfect. the bar is great and the cocktail choice is endless.
I found his sons very quiet and didn't like much conversation, Akis his nephew (not sure if he's still there) was really chatty, nice guy.
Roda was OK, the beach smelled.
I just didn't enjoy myself very much... I can't help it. although it seems like a very negative review it wasn't that bad.
I had been to lake garda the year before and it was a HUGE change! but if you want a cheap friendly stay in Greece, it's great. Greek night and BBQ were great.
One more thing ALBANIA. GO THERE! you must do this excursion, it was a fantastic experience, and the tour guide was lovely. the stupid rep didn't tell us that we would have to pay more than we already had, so take plenty of money even though they say not too.
You won't be mugged- it's silly talk because the tour guide doesn't leave you alone for a second.
The buffet was quite nice. the roman ruins were quite a trek but if you like a bit of culture, one day Saranda will be better than Corfu.
There are children selling jewellery and key rings, but they aren't beggars. We did see a couple of beggars (one pretending he didn’t have an arm which was so funny because you could see it under his T-shirt) and one little girl holding sign, but if you ask me Paris is 100x worse!
I would go to Albania again but never to Corfu unless it was the only way I could get to Albania!

I couldn't disagree more with the two negative reviews, we had one of the best holidays ever at these apartments and booked up again for next year within 2 days of returning home. Spiros and his family couldn't do enough for you, as for the bar prices they were the same if not cheaper than in town, in fact Spiros was always giving things away (sweets for kids, pens, t.shirts). Spiros was always cleaning around the pool and tending to his garden (not a weed in sight).
The apartments were basic, as most apartments are in Greece but were cleaned every other day and certainly no smell of mould. The kitchen facilities were basic but quite sufficient for breakfast and making lunch, you couldn't cook a 3 course meal in there but then you're on holiday so who'd want to, us women are allowed some time away from the cooking. There was excellent home cooked meals, cooked by Spiros's wife vikki, at great prices available until late into the evening.
There was good entertainment 3/4 times a week and the bar would stay open as long as you wanted it to. The apartments are about 5/10 min stroll from town, but if Spiros passed you walking home he would offer to bring you back. Thomas and Phillip, Spiros's sons were friendly and helpful, whether you were buying a drink or not, considering the long hours they work. If you go onto the Spiros web page there are many many excellent reviews who like us have been before and are returning again. Can't wait to go back next year.

The reviews on this site seem to muddle a Spiros Apartment in Sidari with that of what sounds a dreadful one in Roda. The Sidari Spiros Apartments are great Aria the maid comes in every day and keeps the apartments spotless. The pool is similarly kept very clean by George's father the original Spiros - George's new son Spiros junior making his arrival whilst we stayed there. One very proud father.
The apartments are situated outside Sidari so you can avoid it if you want to. We went into Sidari for one meal only as most of the restaurants were burger style places - to one that did "traditional" Greek dancing and fire dancing - it was very good in fact and everyone did join in with the plate smashing. We preferred to travel out further towards Kassiopi for our evening meals and beaches.
The bar at Spiros was open until very late with Bob and Vera helping out and organising Killer Pool, bingo and karaoke nights. It did mean that you did get to know quite a lot of people quite quickly - and end up staying up very late every night.
The lack of air conditioning was a bit of a pain but George does inform us he is thinking of putting it in. We managed with just the fan which we were not charged for and the safety deposit boxes were free too.
We were very happy with the holiday and would recommend it to people with children or want something quieter than the clubbing type holidays.

I really enjoyed my two week stay at the Spiros no1 apartments. I was there with my boyfriend and we would go back. The rooms are quite basic but very clean the cleaner was amazing! Spiros and his two sons are three of the nicest people you could wish to meet nothing was too much for them.
The apartments are set in the olive groves with a path that leads into the village, its only a 5min walk to the beach which was really nice and never got too crowded. The village had some really nice restaurants the best we found were The Dolphin, Roda Park and Nikos which was in the old town and they all serve traditional Greek cuisine. Unfortunately there were a few English bars and restaurants that were far too busy for my liking! What’s the point of going to Greece to eat boring old English food!? The best bar we found was the Pirate Bar, very relaxing atmosphere.
We did a Greek night at the apartments and it was really good fun, the food at the apartments was really nice and the bar was really good Spiros and his sons were very generous with their alcohol measures!
We did a trip to the waterpark but I wish we hadn’t bothered nothing special also don’t book trips with the reps they are a rip off!
We will definitely go back to Spiros no1 its really good value for money and you cant beat the friendly atmosphere. The rooms are basic but this is Greece not a five star Hilton!
