Butlins Bognor Regis Reviews
" Went with 3 boys all under 9.... "

Went with 3 boys all under 9. Fantastic entertainment something going on all the time. Drink bit expensive bought boys from vending machines. Fun fair although smaller than Minehead we had great fun.
Apartment could of been cleaner it was cleaned by contract cleaners who in my opinion need to do a bit more work on their skills.
Overall great fun will def go again.

Since I was about 8 I have been there every year and every year has been the same......absolutely excellent! When you come back year after year everything has changed and its alot better! I recently went to Butlins in Bognor Regis and they have a brand spanking new hotel. It looks amazing! Well I think I have summed it up.....fantastic!! Cheers Butlins for such a great holiday!

" Basically their standard rooms are... "

Basically their standard rooms are absolutely disgusting and when you complain the only reply you get is 'you can always leave' - which we did. The room had a broken window, a broken cupboard, excrement up the toilet, cigarette burns on the settee (which was supposed to be used as a bed) and also in the carpet. A light that had burnt out to the point where the shade was burnt.
A fire, which had a terrible burning smell and sheets, which were left outside (in the rain) for us to make our own beds. They did offer us an alternative room but this was just as bad (there were at least 20 other couples complaining at the same time as us) and when we asked for a 'clean' room we were told there were none. We were then told that if we left and did not sign a form to say we would take no further action, they would NOT give us a refund (this is bribery in my books) and so we had no choice but to sign this and receive a refund (2 weeks later).
We went to alternative accommodation and this cost up £300 + more than we had expected to pay at Butlins and yet their customer services department feel they have done nothing wrong and that we are entitled to no compensation at all. They also tell you that you can always take your complaint to ABTA - but, guess what, they are NOT ABTA BONDED.
We were actually told that as it was our choice to go to alternative accommodation, it was not their responsibility, and yet if we had received a clean room we would not have had needed to go elsewhere. We were actually told, "we could have gone home" (nice to see how caring they are as well). This was our first and certainly our last visit to Butlins.
I would also point out that all of their children’s areas (other than one) are complete smoking areas and no regard is given to the health of children - NEVER AGA

" Watch out. Butlins is more expensive... "

Watch out. Butlins is more expensive than ever.
The food isn’t great (stopped half board years ago), the security at Bignor is incredibly lax (tip: day trippers, don’t pay, just stroll in, that’s what the locals do - no-one ever checks your tickets, only on Saturday afternoons, when the bulk of holidaymakers arrive).
What with recent attacks on holidaymakers by staff- never mind locals - fresh in the mind - remember the Bognor rapist? - bear in mind security is where Butlins have probably made recent economies.
It’s all about grabbing your money. In the clubhouse, half a pint of coke is 2 pounds; that’s 4 pounds a pint (tip: smuggle it in; trouser legs, handbags, it’s not too difficult!).
On the positive side, it’s good for kids. Another tip: avoid the rip-off Sun and Moon pub for food (particularly bad value). There’s a Wetherspoons in the town (20 minute walk) that does the same deal for a third of the price.
And avoid the fruit machines. Locals from the town regularly sneak in for nothing, and case out all he machines. So don’t bother!

There’s plenty to do for children of all ages. Kids clubs run throughout the day, keeping them busy and entertained whether rain or shine.
The swimming pool at Bognor is still the same as it was when I first went. The accommodation is more or less the same as it was back then the only exception is that its had a lick of paint.
Overall Butlins still guarantees a good holiday for all ages.
