Submitted By: Mrs G CrawfordOur kids 4 & 2 loved the pool and it was so easy to keep an eye on them.
Granted, it is a fairly quiet resort, but we knew that before we booked and it suited us perfectly, especially since it is such a beautiful place - tip - try and do a little bit of site-seeing. There are a handful of shops (which got cheaper the further you walked down the promenade) and a few restaurants. We tried most of them and then someone told us about the "Anchor". It looks tacky when you walk in but we had the best meal here, the staff were so friendly and there was a little play area to keep the children amused while they waited.
All in all, we thought it was a great place to stay in a beautiful part of Menorca. If you are looking for a lively holiday, don't go here. It is very family orientated and we felt welcome and safe!

Submitted By: sharonwatsonHowever the weather was perfect for the 2 weeks in june we were there. I really love this place & my children now aged 7 & 3 & half love it to, we have been lots of holidays but this place beats them all.
The apartments are very well kept with the apartments itself with everything you need for a great self catering holiday, they have air conditioning which is essential as it gets really warm, also all the cooking utensils you need great fridge, tv, iron & iron board which I have used.
There is a playground to the rear of the apartments for the kids, the playground is on sand so no-one can get hurt just a little messy. The pools are brilliant for the kids very safe, the baby pool only came up to about knee deep for my oldest daughter & the biggest pool was lagoon style & the children can also walk in this pool, there is a deep bit in the middle, the pool was cleaned every single morning.
The staff here could not do enough for you, the restaurant & bar staff were very friendly & the meals here were lovely however, they were a bit expensive.
I recommend the Sebastians restaurant which is just a short walk from the apartments the first restaurant at the bottom of the hill, it has a play area for kids & is situated on the beach so you can relax & enjoy your meal while the kids play, All the restaurants about 8 are great the staff in this resort are all friendly & seem to love children.
There is a small market at the beach front most evenings from about 6pm which sells souveniers ie. home made jewellery, trinkets, rugs, bags that kind of thing I bought a few things from these wee stalls.
This resort really caters for young kids there are play parks dotted about at the front & a mini arcade place, there is also a crazy golf park which was great fun. The Lighthouse bar which is attached to the punta prima playa apartments has trampolines & bouncy castles & some arcades which my kids loved to play all night as this was where the entertainment was. The only thing this time we had a lot of bother with mosquitos so I would recommend a repellant.
There is also a lovely wee train ride to Biniequea which the beach there is absolutlely stunning we done this twice, the train ride itself is lovely as you can see how lovely the place is.
I would recommend Mahon however, not on market days as the buses are to crammed & can't always get a seat & for half hour with young kids it is to long. mahon is really lovely with a fab toy shop about 8 floors high & lots of great wee shops, then you can go to the harbour & get on the glass bottom boat which takes about an hour & is really beautiful.
My family & I are going back again this year in June & this year we are going to visit other resorts in Menorca while there as my oldest daughter who is 7 is getting a bit old for this resort now. Which I am gutted about as I just love this place.

Submitted By: Mr C MorrisThe problem is that the complex only seems to be geared for family's with small children and consequently the area around the pool tends to be extremely rowdy firstly because of the children playing and secondly because of the competitive water games.
I read before I left for my holiday that the Punta Prime resort was quiet, and that suited me fine for a relaxing holiday. I t was dead easy to keep an eye on the children beacuase the resort is really quiet and there are only about half a dozen bars.
In conclusion the Punta Prima Playa Apartments are ideal for families with children, but for anybody else are best avoided.

Submitted By: Mrs K KerrThe reception staff were also very pleasant and helpful, cant say the same for a few of the Reps who just seemed a little bored and had a couldn’t be bothered attitude... Also think the Kids Club seemed a bit of a con, it never seemed to be open unless it was activities that had to be paid for.
The Lighthouse bar across the road was good for kids with trampolines and bouncy castle. Which kept my son entertained at night, but I think more entertainment on site would improve the place as the nights where there was no entertainment the place was empty.
Punta Prima is a lovely place and the restaurants were lovely, we did not have a bad meal, and everyone could not do enough for us. We went to the British owned Anchor Bar and the food and staff were lovely, they had a karaoke as well and they also have a kid’s play area. Which was good for my son, it occupied him while we had our meal.
Overall a really good holiday at Punta Prima.

Submitted By: Mr R MarlorThe problem is that the complex only seems to be geared for family's with small children and consequently the area around the pool tends to be extremely rowdy firstly because of the children playing and secondly because of the competitive Dads egging on there children in the various water games.
I read before I left for my holiday that the Punta Prime resort was quiet, and that suited me fine for a relaxing holiday. The only problem being is that the resort is not just quiet, it is dead with only about half a dozen Bars / Resteraunts in the whole resort. Consequently finding any form of entertainment outside the Apartment Complex was very difficult if not impossible.
In conclusion the Punta Prima Playa Apartments are ideal for families with children, but for anybody else are best avoided.

Submitted By: Mrs HL ShannonThe apartments are exactly as others have described them. Very clean, spacious, & well kept. We were on the upper floor of the apartment block & therefore had a lovely pool view from our front balcony.
The balcony itself did not present us with any safety problems from our inquisitive climbing 2 year old although she was kept under very close supervision.
The apartments have bedroom ceiling fans & also benefit from air conditioning, which during the peak summer months will be most beneficial, especially to keep the kids cool at night.
Whilst our 11 yr old was slightly at a loose end at times, as these apartments are generally used by families with toddler age children, she did enjoy the pool & like us adults, had a really nice relaxing time.
There’s a well stocked supermarket very close by for all your needs although this tended to close at 8pm. However, there’s another on the main road which remained open later.
The resort is fairly small, but there’s a good enough selection of restaurants (like others, we liked Santis & Manolos, where the food was good & nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff).
There’s also an excellent safe outdoor play area for the younger children close by which our younger two loved during the early evening.
The beach is lovely, we walked down onto the sands just after Sebastian’s snack bar, and where there is a walkway to within approx 20ft of the water (most helpful if you’re lugging two buggies & half your belongings for the day).
The sea at the beginning of the week was a lovely colour, but during our stay, after an early morning storm, it did turn a nasty brown colour, (blighted by masses of seaweed close to the shore). The following day, a swarm (?) of jelly fish decided to visit.
As if the Punta Playa pool was not enough, we did visit an adjacent pool bar, which had an excellent small pool play area with slides & fountains etc, ideal for our toddlers. I believe this pool belonged to the adjacent Barcelo Pueblo Hotel but nobody seemed to bother at all. (We had relatives staying at the Pueblo). Our kids had great fun & it wasn’t overly busy.
Overall an excellent relaxing low key weeks stay in the sunshine, on a lovely island, & only 20 mins from the airport. Ideal for us as a family & one we're very likely to visit again. Pass me that brochure!

Submitted By: Mrs D CravenSupermarket just over the road which was ideal and stocked everything you could need, very quite resort but ideal for families with a good selection of restaurants, all our meals out where good. Took the small train around the resort which was good it as so nice to see a lovely kept island with no high-rise apartments/hotels.
The lighthouse bar is on the apartment complex and we always ended up here at the end of the night not much entertainment but a great play area for the kids, bouncy castle and trampoline’s and things just €3 euros all night and always got chatting to the other families there.
Only down point on an evening was loads of mosquitoes so take something with you, Mother care do wrist bands for kids which where great so they never got bit.
Will be booking to go again next year.
" Have just spent a week at Punta Prima... "
Submitted By: Ms T WilliamsThe apartments were very clean. Providing everything needed for a self catering holiday.
A very nice snack bar on site, serving good food at reasonable prices. Punta Prima is very quiet and certainly not somewhere to visit if you want a lively holiday.
A handful of restaurants, one pub, and three supermarkets. Good bus service into Mahon, nice little beach. All in all a nice little place to visit.
" Have just come back from Menorca... "
Submitted By: Mr L SmithThe apartments themselves are clean and well furnished and ideally situated. Staff were helpful and any problems we had were addressed immediately.
Pool was great for all the family and was well maintained. Restaurant and bar was very nice although drinks and ice creams were expensive.
Kids club was very good and kept the little ones entertained, evening entertainment was virtually nonexistent, but this did not bother us.
Resort is very quiet but absolutely picturesque it has a handful of restaurants and shops and also the beach is beautiful.
All the restaurants we visited were great i.e. Manolo's, Santi's, El Faro's, and the Blue Anchor. Although our favourite was Santi's for value and quality.
Travelling around is very easy either by bus or taxi even take the mini train to Binibequer, all modes are very reliable and run on time.
If you are just looking for a relaxing family holiday with everything within reach then this is ideal.
We will definitely be returning here.
" Before we start, a big no no for... "
Submitted By: Mrs C GandyWe stayed at the apartments from 4/5/07. We booked it on the Wednesday and flew on the Friday so to be honest we didn’t expect much as it was a late deal - we were very very surprised.
This has been so far the best holiday for us. I, husband and 11 month old daughter arrived as the first guests of the summer season and the staff were excellent.
Complex:
The apartments themselves are very clean and the maids came in 3 times the week we were there. They are very well equipped with clean utilities - microwave, kettle toaster, 2 ring hob. All the utensils (pots and pans etc) are all in very good condition.
Each apartment has a small balcony off the bedroom and a large patio off the kitchen/lounge/diner that has table and chairs with rack for drying swim wear etc.
The grounds are nice, through garden area to apartments, watch out right at the back as we did notice some bee's coming in off the nearby field area!!
The pool is excellent a very shallow baby pool that daisy loved, very warm as the sun heats it from early morning.
The adult pool is also good for larger kids and the top end is still shallow enough for supervised swimming for babies. The middle part is the deepest so children should be supervised here.
We read in last year’s comments that sunbeds were sparse but we did see enough of them and no-one seemed to be without one during our stay.
The outside bar area is comfortable plastic seating and tables where the staff are happy to come out and serve you. The bar inside is nice and comfy as is the restaurant part where you can have lunch time snacks.
There is an area to the front of the complex that has outside stage for entertainment/trampolines/large bar and entertainments area but this wasn’t open for our stay as we were the first week of season. It did look very impressive however.
The entertainment that is on at the complex was very good - everyone seemed to have a good time.
Resort:
There is only a handful of restaurants in Punta prima. We would recommend the following:
Manolo's - the 1st restaurant after the little arcade on the main road - by far the best restaurant in the resort and very reasonable prices. The menorcan style sea bass is a must for anyone who likes fish as is his chocolate crepes! Shoulder of lamb also one of the house specials.
Casa fermin - good service and good food.
Restaurant santi - went here our 1st night fantastic pasta.
Blue anchor - good English bar - if you like a taste of English food and pint of John Smiths this is the place to be - also shows the UK football on sky.
Pas d'laire - restaurant with inside terrace - try if you must - we'd say avoid at all costs - paella awful. Not one prawn in the whole seafood paella.
Beach:
We went a few times but as daisy was very young we didn't spend too much time here - we did however love the time we did go down there - sand is lovely soft white sand and the sea is crystal blue and you can see how clear it is way way out to sea.
Out and about:
We would recommend taking the bus to sant Luis costs 1euro 20cent and takes 15 mins to get there. Good for a walk round - doesn't look much to begin with but follow signs for centre and you find a lovely street with all traditional shops and butchers/bakers etc.
Bus costs the same to Mahon (siesta is 1.30pm - 4.30pm in Mahon - most things closed but read on) - where you can see the port area - market days are really busy and to be honest the market is quite tacky.
Go on another day and you can take in all the harbour sights. Go into Mahon on the 12 noon bus from Punta prima and then start with the side streets and work your way to the harbour - picnic or lunch at restaurant down the front.
Take an hour trip on the Don Joan glass bottom boat (about 10 euro per adult and 5 euro a child - babies free) by the time you have walked back up to the main shops area it will be time for siesta to finish, shops re-open - grab a coffee and then head back to the bus station to return to Punta prima on the first bus after siesta at 4.30pm.
Journey time to Mahon is 30 mins so it’s not bad and it’s an easy ride. If you get bored before the buses start again, you can grab a taxi for 13 euro back to resort.
We did none of the reps excursions as we didn't fancy them but the people we spoke to said they enjoyed them.
One thing we didn't hear of till it was too late was the horse type racing they do near Mahon - it was sort of like horse and carts on a kind of race (imagine chariot racing but horse and cart - can’t remember the name sorry! But the locals should know) it’s on at 6pm on a Saturday.
We will be returning here again for sure.

If you need a childrens club facility to be included in your holiday as a necessity as we did, dont go here.
