excellent
from mehrdad
Excellent location, near to the Opera and the metro. 2 short blocks to the Roissy Bust from CDG to the hotel. Very nice front staff, the concierge was OK. Clean rooms and quiet for the most part. The rooms were very clean, but the bed is very sturdy for those who need soft beds. Typical breakfast for a european hotel. Overall excellent if you are paying 200 or less euros.
lovely

Very Good four star hotel
from shotrock
Six of us booked three deluxe rooms at the Ambassador, for a four night stay. First of all the location is very good, and great access to the metro. Haussmann Ave is great for shops, restaurants, and a good clean, safe neighborhood. Our rooms were plenty large enough, with good size marble bathrooms. The entryway between the hall way and bedroom had an interior door, to reduce the hallway noise. Yes, the walls were thin, and you could hear some neighbor noise, but we slept great on the good beds. Street noise was minimal. The hotel restaurant was very good, and the bar staff were very accommodating. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the concierge people. I would definately go back and stay there.
Don’t Stay Here! Things Stolen From My Room!!!
from MikiGibraltar
I stayed here with three friends and found the hotel is very shabby and old-looking in the corridors and bedrooms. When we returned after a long day of shopping I found that 300 Euros and 6 packets of cigarettes had been stolen from my room. I immediately went down to speak to the Hotel Manager and explained my situation and he said he would investigate. Later that evening after not hearing from him I went down again and he told me that he had asked the maid who cleaned my room that morning and she said she hadn't taken anything. I said "well of course she's going to say that.." and he got very annoyed with me. I found them to be extremely unhelpful and for the rest of my stay they were very rude to me. I would not advise this hotel AT ALL. Oh and also, we each had a cocktail drink in the hotel bar and it was over 150 Euros for four cocktails! Waste of money. Miki
Ambassador on Hausmann
from Rheaad
Stayed here 4/21 thru 26th in a very large room facing the avenue w/ mini balcony. I was w/a women's club tour group which obviously specified the newer and nicer rooms. Observations: On my own, I would not have paid the 24E for breakfast as it was a good offering, but not that outstanding. Secondly, as a woman alone, was surprised no peep-hole in door. Hard to find a doorman to flag a cab and to raise someone at front desk at times. The cleaning staff takes all day to get to your room so if you go back to rest you have to deal with that. I would go back as it is a nice hotel w/friendly staff, senior concierge quite knowledgeale but not on my own nickel.
Good Tourist Hotel
from NYC-Canuck
I stayed at this hotel for a week for business in April 2007. I previously stayed here for work 3 years ago as well. Located 2 blocks away from the Opera House. The hotel is a good location - especially for tourists. Great area to walk around - not that far to the Louvre. I have walked to the Arc d' Triumph, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower (bit of a hike though). Arrive: you can take the 351 bus from CDG airport and it will drop you off right at the opera house (8 Euro 1 way). Walk to Haussman about 2 long blocks and the hotel is on the left. Taxi from CDG is approx 35 Euro one way. The hotel is remodelling - some rooms are newer than others. You must specifically request one though. Internet: NO INTERNET the OLD rooms. You must specify a NEW room and those are wired for Internet. There is a 24 hr buisness center that you can access from. The room is fairly large. Bathroom is decent. Toilet is seperate from shower / sink area. Lots of closet / storage space. Bathrobes in closet. Security: Small safe in wardrobe - program your own 4 digit code. Food: I did not eat in the hotel. They have breakfast buffet downstairs - hot and cold dishes. Cost is approx 24 Euro. My colleagues were not particularly fond of the breakfast, considering it too expensive for their small appetities. Staff: friendly, helpful. When staying for a week I only like housekeeping to come in once mid week (I spread all my business papers all around and I don't want them messed with or moved). Despite putting the Do Not Disturb sign up the hotel policy is that they come in anyways. I had to specifically ask the front desk that they not come in. Gym: Too busy with work to use this week. Area: Lots of restaurants out the hotel to the left on Haussman but a bit touristy. Go off the main streets for the more interesting places. Gallerie Laffayette shopping is just out the door to the right. Post Office across the street. ATMs in the area. Lots of high end shopping around in the area (Hermes etc) Summary: I would come back as a tourist but would not choose this hotel for business again.
Loved the Ambassador
from poppy23
I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel on a short break holiday and after reading other reviews was very apprehensive. All I can say is that my experience was superb. The hotel was lovely and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The room was delightful, very clean and well decorated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and will definitely be going back there. jennifer treaddell
Cute Parisian Hotel
from CaliGirl23
We picked this hotel because it was close to the Roissy Bus (bus to and from the airport) and it has private bathrooms. The hotel is very cute and charming. The room is a little small, but this is expected in Europe. However, the room is quite charming. The breakfast is delicious, but a little expensive. The hotel is within walking distance to everything! The Louvre, the Eiffle Tower, The Musee D'Orsee, The Opera House, shopping, restaurants, etc. The front desk spoke English and were very polite and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
high rates low standards
from LJGlasgow
Booked hotel in concorde group in september for a new year break. was phoned 2 days before holiday to be told they had overbooked hotel and we were being moved to the ambassador. this was supposedly an upgrade. got there and location and reception area were good but it all went downhill from there. after waiting for a king size room to be ready we discovered that this was actually 2 single beds pushed together with sheet over the top. decor was tired and tiles missing and cracked in bathroom. one member of staff in reception when we booked in was quite pleasant but on checking out it appeared that the rest of the staff couldnt be bothered. as the city was so busy we thought we would make the most of it as it would be impossible to find somewhere else to stay - we are just thankful we did not pay the proper rate for this hotel.
Terrible.
from R1Colombia
A disaster. Very noisy and unhelpful staff. The rooms have interleading doors which means you can hear everything your neighbours are up to. Never again.

An excellent Holiday, which started with a grand tour of Paris and finished with a fabulous shopping experience. I would recommend the fine Paris restaurants to anyone wanting to tickle their taste buds with some of the finest cuisine on offer anywhere in the world. Thomas... more
