Went last year and loved it. That’s why we went back this year and loved it again.
Great place in go walking distance to the harbour which we love. My 2 kids loved it too.
Friendly staff good food and entertainment was wicked weather was great would love to live there. Room was basic but good enough. Lovely sea view from are room and the tomb of the kings.
We will be going back as we love it.
The Cypriot nights was the best and have some great photos.

No bad experiences whatsoever at this hotel. The room was quite basic but we had our little kitchen with fridge and cooker, big enough living area, 2 rooms, and a small bathroom.
We also had a beautiful view from the balcony. Room was on the second floor and a very short walk away from the pool which was great.
The room was also immaculate when we were shown to it. As to the location of the hotel, we did have to get a cab when we wanted to eat outside as it is quite remote - that was a pain.
There were a few shops around but not enough. Would go again.

Left after 2 days. Less than basic and I am not fussy, filthy room, my arm kept sticking to table. Fridge falling apart and dirty inside.
I booked this place with a reputable company, what a joke. The comments from people who stayed in May 2007 was not my experience. Yes the staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly Brian and Abu.
The meal we had on our first night was very nice, but the actual apartment / room was so disappointing and dirty, I won't be back or be using Thomsons again.

Just got back we had a great time. Must say the room was very basis but clean except a fag burn on my duvet. Only had visits from maids every other day and had to ask for loo roll as we ran out and a little concerned that the bin by the toilet was not emptied daily (remember you can't put loo paper down the loo so don't have a large curry unless you know your toilet bin gets emptied next day!). Air conditioning was not working the first day but was given a fan free until it was fixed. All the staff were great and very helpful. Emma the rep was around if we needed her and the kids clubs reps were always around. Food very basic Chips and more Chips but they do a great cheese omelette (Of course with Chips). The Pool was fab very large and open from 9-7. Always sunloungers around but they are very hard to make sure that you take something to lie on e.g. a soft beach towel. Over all if you down mind basic this is a very enjoyable hotel. We even got a Baileys off the boys behind the bar when we left. Paphos is easy to get to; the bus service is great only 80 cents anywhere. Coral bay is great for a day at the beach also. Again the staff were great and we got to know them very well.

Our family of 4 had a fantastic time at these apartments.
Our 2 bed apartment was huge a front and back door house with 2 terraces downstairs and a balcony from the master bedroom, which also had an ensuite and further family bath room was upstairs and another toilet was downstairs.
The 2 pools were also very big with plenty of sun loungers about.
We have nothing bad to say about these apartments apart from maybe a lick of paint on the front of the building. If you have booked please don’t worry there is no need too!

Be warned. Do not book to stay here! I arrived late at night with my partner and three grandchildren and we never even unpacked our suitcases.
I was advised by the Thompson Sales Rep that this hotel was 'basic'. I understand 'basic' to mean, say, a UK Travel Lodge. How wrong I was!
The rooms here are equivalent to some scruffy downtown bed-sit. The whole place made my skin crawl. Within 12 hours of arrival, we were moved and sitting comfortably in 4* accommodation - thanks to the fantastic service by the Thompson Rep, Emma Richardson, at the LoTK complex. It cost us £600 to upgrade, but it was worth every penny.
If I couldn't have found anywhere else for us to stay, then we would have been on the next flight home. The list of complaints is endless... creepy crawlies everywhere, minging pillows and mattresses, dirt soiled furniture falling to bits, dead creatures in the swimming pool, lack of lighting around the complex at night, inadequate air con, grass in complex a foot high, no lifts, etc., etc.
I am surprised that Thompson has this place as part of their portfolio. It is cheap, rundown, scruffy, and horrible - the worst place I have booked in my entire life.
My overall rating is only a 1 because 0 is not on the dropdown menu!

How pathetic! Why are people complaining about the size of ants and such? Why is that the fault of the land of the kings? What do you think is happening? Are they purposely feeding them steroids to upset you? Don't be stupid!! Ants are everywhere and believe it or not, we even get them in Britain of all places!
If you don't like lizards then don't go to Cyprus!! They have been there a lot longer than any human and they even help to get rid of insects including the ants by eating them.
Why complain about light bulbs not working? Do you honestly think that staff go around checking every light bulb before they allow guests to stay there? Of course not!! They don't know there's a problem unless you tell them and from personal experience, they are very quick to sort out any problems that you have.
Land of the kings is a great place for a family. Myself, my wife and our 3 kids had a great time there. They don't advertise as a 5 star hotel so don't expect that when you get there.
Our 2 week stay at the land of the king’s apartments in Paphos was amazing. Every single staff member went out of their way to help. We asked for ant spray and they gave it to us. How hard was that?
The restaurant was a little over priced but Cyprus in general seems to be slightly costly if you wish to eat out. The food was very well presented and very enjoyable.
The shop on the complex was also over priced for some things but others were cheap. Supermarkets are not hard to find and the exchange rate is better at local banks and kiosks if you want to change traveller’s cheques or cash.
Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful and very often went above and beyond what you would expect them to do.
The land of the kings is situated within easy reach of most amenities and only a short taxi ride away from anywhere that you need to visit. Hiring a car for a few days is a good idea if you wish to visit places at your leisure.
All in all, our stay at the land of the kings was excellent and we have already booked again for next year after being home for only 4 days.
Don't be put off by people moaning about silly little things that are out of the control of the complex. If you want a fun family holiday with great weather and excellent food, this is the place for you.

We have recently just come back from Cyprus and are already booking for next year, same apartments, dates etc.
We booked Aug 2005 as my brother booked to get married in Cyprus, (beautiful, would recommend anyone to marry out in Paphos), very reasonable price! 2A apartments are what we paid for and that’s what we got. 6 weeks before departure we got a letter advising us of building work that was being carried out during our stay in Cyprus, I was concerned and rang Airtours, who advised me to transfer to another apartment, we tried but with only 6 weeks to go we struggled! In the end I emailed The Land of the Kings direct and they assured us that we would be staying away from building work, we decided to chance it and we are glad we did.
We had a fantastic time, the apartment was enormous, well big enough for me, my husband, 2 kids and baby, very basic but that’s 2A for you, we thought the staff were amazing, very helpful and bent over backwards to help if we needed it. Yes, we had a problem with ants but they soon scampered with a squirt of ant spray.
The swimming pool was very clean and we never had a problem finding a couple of loungers to lounge on. We went to the Cypriot nights and had a whale of a time, the children made lots of friends and didn’t want to come home. The food at the restaurant on site was lovely and the food was excellent and well presented.
Cyprus is quite expensive but we knew this before we travelled and were prepared for the expense. We hired a car for 3 days and went to the Water park in Paphos, it was amazing, quite expensive but worth it because the kids loved it, we went to Adonis Falls, this is must for everyone, beware of the steps, not good for infirm visitors though. The water will stop your heart it’s that cold but once in you go numb so you don’t feel it!! Very refreshing! The Troodos Mountains are beautiful, we went to the top, my god the views!
I have no complaints what so ever about Cyprus or Land of the Kings and would definitely recommend to all! The building work was taking place behind block 7 were we were but we never noticed as they hardly built anything, there is a road being built at the side of the apartments but again we never heard or noticed any work actually being done. Tony, Ramon, Costa’s, Demetrius, Mrs. Dora and Annie, are so friendly and helpful, you just have to ask and they will be happy to help you. We will back!!!!

Excellent place to stay, thoroughly enjoyed it. Went for 2 weeks and like others was very wary bout the place reading some reviews. Apartments were nice, cleaned nearly every day. Had a few ants on the balcony but that’s to be expected anywhere.
The only thing we wasn’t aware of was the fact you had to pay for the air-conditioning, but luckily we managed without it.
All the staff were really friendly and chatty, specially the bar staff who looked after us, told us where to go and what to see. They sat and had a chat to us when there shift was over, not like most people who can't wait to get home. (demetre and raymond in particular where great)
There is lots to do in Pathos but we mainly stayed around the hotel strip, finding lots of karaoke and Cyprus night to join in on. Plenty of places to eat, the best probably being fat mamma's, I had ribs one night and wow all I can say is make sure you are hungry.
We were sad to come home and would definitely go again.

Smelly room, no air con, nasty lady on reception, no lift, expensive food, the list goes on. Not many sun beds. The pool is ok but seen better days. You get what you pay for. Paphos is lovely. Plenty or bars and restraunts.

We a group of 8, Sarah, Patricia, Veronica, Darren, Carla, Irene, Ingrid, Anthony! Loved the Land Of The Kings!
The best ting about it was the bar staff, Daniel (love him), Raymond (remember tea), and Philip (Irene’s man), they are what made our holiday! After they finished work at half 1 and closed the bar they’d come over to us every night til like 4 or half 4 and we'd be drinking and laughing it was the best craic ever! They made the holiday 4 us! There coming over to Ireland to see us! Yeah. Party, lads you are the best.
It was great.

Absolutely awful. Please do not go these apartments - they were dirty - cockroaches and giant ants everywhere. The maids only changed our beds once in a week and we had to beg for towels on one occasion.
The bathroom flooded so we had to use towels to mop up the mess.
There were very rude staff on reception who we did not dare approach at times - there were rooms being robbed and the Police were called several times but seemed disinterested.
We went out for a meal one night, came back to find the bar staff being arrested by immigration in front of all the guests.
We hired air conditioning which was situated in the smallest bedroom there was and gave off no air to the other rooms, I hired a fan also which kept breaking down due to the amount of dust on it.
The Manager is less than interested and not at all co-operative. I had to empty the bins myself every day and we all felt filthy due to the lack of cleaning to the apartments.
The list is endless and we would never ever go back there again - particularly if you have children - don't be duped into thinking there is a play area because there is one rusty slide.
The pool area is nice but that's about it. If you have the chance to go elsewhere - do so. Fortunately myself, my sister and my kids have a good sense of humour and we could see the funny side of it, but if you haven't got a good sense of humour - you will end up in tears.
