Land Of The Kings Apartments Reviews
" Our family of 4 had a fantastic time... "
Submitted By: Miss K HayOur 2 bed apartment was huge a front and back door house with 2 terraces downstairs and a balcony from the master bedroom, which also had an ensuite and further family bath room was upstairs and another toilet was downstairs.
The 2 pools were also very big with plenty of sun loungers about.
We have nothing bad to say about these apartments apart from maybe a lick of paint on the front of the building. If you have booked please don’t worry there is no need too!

" Be warned. Do not book to stay here!... "
Submitted By: Miss J KingI was advised by the Thompson Sales Rep that this hotel was 'basic'. I understand 'basic' to mean, say, a UK Travel Lodge. How wrong I was!
The rooms here are equivalent to some scruffy downtown bed-sit. The whole place made my skin crawl. Within 12 hours of arrival, we were moved and sitting comfortably in 4* accommodation - thanks to the fantastic service by the Thompson Rep, Emma Richardson, at the LoTK complex. It cost us £600 to upgrade, but it was worth every penny.
If I couldn't have found anywhere else for us to stay, then we would have been on the next flight home. The list of complaints is endless... creepy crawlies everywhere, minging pillows and mattresses, dirt soiled furniture falling to bits, dead creatures in the swimming pool, lack of lighting around the complex at night, inadequate air con, grass in complex a foot high, no lifts, etc., etc.
I am surprised that Thompson has this place as part of their portfolio. It is cheap, rundown, scruffy, and horrible - the worst place I have booked in my entire life.
My overall rating is only a 1 because 0 is not on the dropdown menu!

" How pathetic! Why are people... "
Submitted By: Mr A MarshallIf you don't like lizards then don't go to Cyprus!! They have been there a lot longer than any human and they even help to get rid of insects including the ants by eating them.
Why complain about light bulbs not working? Do you honestly think that staff go around checking every light bulb before they allow guests to stay there? Of course not!! They don't know there's a problem unless you tell them and from personal experience, they are very quick to sort out any problems that you have.
Land of the kings is a great place for a family. Myself, my wife and our 3 kids had a great time there. They don't advertise as a 5 star hotel so don't expect that when you get there.
Our 2 week stay at the land of the king’s apartments in Paphos was amazing. Every single staff member went out of their way to help. We asked for ant spray and they gave it to us. How hard was that?
The restaurant was a little over priced but Cyprus in general seems to be slightly costly if you wish to eat out. The food was very well presented and very enjoyable.
The shop on the complex was also over priced for some things but others were cheap. Supermarkets are not hard to find and the exchange rate is better at local banks and kiosks if you want to change traveller’s cheques or cash.
Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful and very often went above and beyond what you would expect them to do.
The land of the kings is situated within easy reach of most amenities and only a short taxi ride away from anywhere that you need to visit. Hiring a car for a few days is a good idea if you wish to visit places at your leisure.
All in all, our stay at the land of the kings was excellent and we have already booked again for next year after being home for only 4 days.
Don't be put off by people moaning about silly little things that are out of the control of the complex. If you want a fun family holiday with great weather and excellent food, this is the place for you.

" We have recently just come back from... "
Submitted By: jaded5We booked Aug 2005 as my brother booked to get married in Cyprus, (beautiful, would recommend anyone to marry out in Paphos), very reasonable price! 2A apartments are what we paid for and that’s what we got. 6 weeks before departure we got a letter advising us of building work that was being carried out during our stay in Cyprus, I was concerned and rang Airtours, who advised me to transfer to another apartment, we tried but with only 6 weeks to go we struggled! In the end I emailed The Land of the Kings direct and they assured us that we would be staying away from building work, we decided to chance it and we are glad we did.
We had a fantastic time, the apartment was enormous, well big enough for me, my husband, 2 kids and baby, very basic but that’s 2A for you, we thought the staff were amazing, very helpful and bent over backwards to help if we needed it. Yes, we had a problem with ants but they soon scampered with a squirt of ant spray.
The swimming pool was very clean and we never had a problem finding a couple of loungers to lounge on. We went to the Cypriot nights and had a whale of a time, the children made lots of friends and didn’t want to come home. The food at the restaurant on site was lovely and the food was excellent and well presented.
Cyprus is quite expensive but we knew this before we travelled and were prepared for the expense. We hired a car for 3 days and went to the Water park in Paphos, it was amazing, quite expensive but worth it because the kids loved it, we went to Adonis Falls, this is must for everyone, beware of the steps, not good for infirm visitors though. The water will stop your heart it’s that cold but once in you go numb so you don’t feel it!! Very refreshing! The Troodos Mountains are beautiful, we went to the top, my god the views!
I have no complaints what so ever about Cyprus or Land of the Kings and would definitely recommend to all! The building work was taking place behind block 7 were we were but we never noticed as they hardly built anything, there is a road being built at the side of the apartments but again we never heard or noticed any work actually being done. Tony, Ramon, Costa’s, Demetrius, Mrs. Dora and Annie, are so friendly and helpful, you just have to ask and they will be happy to help you. We will back!!!!

" Excellent place to stay, thoroughly... "
Submitted By: Miss K FillinghamThe only thing we wasn’t aware of was the fact you had to pay for the air-conditioning, but luckily we managed without it.
All the staff were really friendly and chatty, specially the bar staff who looked after us, told us where to go and what to see. They sat and had a chat to us when there shift was over, not like most people who can't wait to get home. (demetre and raymond in particular where great)
There is lots to do in Pathos but we mainly stayed around the hotel strip, finding lots of karaoke and Cyprus night to join in on. Plenty of places to eat, the best probably being fat mamma's, I had ribs one night and wow all I can say is make sure you are hungry.
We were sad to come home and would definitely go again.

" We as a family of 6 stayed this... "
Submitted By: Mrs DM YatesWe stayed in block 7 and had air con but expensive at over 120 pounds for two rooms for two weeks. Pool clean and tested each day and results shown at pool. Bar prices ok! Just expensive to eat out for party of six expect no change from 80 cyp pound.
Beaches very poor even at harbour end of town and coral bay. Nice weather though but if you stay at pool you could be anywhere so hire a car to see Troodos and Afrodites rock etc. On checking out and asking for room to change the room was very musty no air con and very dated I pity those who get those rooms.
To get latest rooms and aircon book with Thompson. It saves you having to change rooms midweek as need aircon. Especially children.

" The worst accommodation I have ever... "
Submitted By: Mr G CraigThe rooms were extremely basic, covered in ants, dead creatures in the fridge, bed clothing badly stained, lights not working, light shades hanging on by a thread. My children cried because they had to sleep in the beds covered in ants and slept with their clothes on.
We were told there was air conditioning in all rooms but not when we got there. We refused to unpack and got moved the same day. I would not recommend this building to anyone as its unfit to stay in and isn’t even on the map of all hotels and apartments in the area.

The fridge was old and rusty in fact by the last day it wouldn’t even shut. There were cockroaches in the room as well as large ants. The cleaner was supposed to come four times a week she came twice to change the linen, the third time she came she handed me the bags and asked me for our rubbish, there was no fourth time!! Shower curtain kept falling down.

There wasn’t enough sun beds round the pool area. There was one in particular miserable woman on reception who wasn’t very helpful at all. I wouldn’t recommend The Land of the Kings to anyone!!
" Fantastic week spent in Land of kings... "
Submitted By: Mrs L Morton

Was apprehensive about apartments after reading other reviews but our experience was excellent, the 2 bed apartment we had was huge although only basically equipped, it was very clean on our arrival and the maid service was very good.

The apartments are located in an ideal spot within easy walking distance of restaurants, local heritage sites and beach, the bus stop is directly opposite and is a bargain at 70 cents a journey....well worth a trip to coral beach. we hired a jeep for 2 days to take us into mountains, which works out, much cheaper than the organised trips.

The restaurant on site was very relaxed and perhaps not the most adventurous menu, worth a ten minute walk to try alternative tavernas and meze restaurants. The only minus side (if there has to be one)was the fact that water parks etc hadn’t opened up for the season and we were in Cyprus for the Greek Easter which meant very limited facilities open for three days ,we were unaware of this when we booked and I would make sure to check on dates next time.........

A definite yes for another visit and would not hesitate to book Land of the Kings Again.

" The Land of the Kings are fantastic... "
Submitted By: Miss C LogueThe rooms were very spacious with good facilities and cleaned on a regular basis. For families with young children request a ground floor apartment as there are no lifts which made it difficult for me to take things up the stairs being on my own, e.g. buggy, bags and of course my son on an evening when he had fallen asleep.
Didn’t see much of the reps but that was probably my own doing, the reception staff were very helpful and the bar staff were very good with the children. There was one pool which is divided off for the little ones, a park and pool tables and slot machines for the older children.
The Land of the Kings has its own bar and restaurant which is great for snack food. They also do a Cypriot night which is great fin, however it is situated very close to the shops and restaurants which are very reasonable, imported lager/cider is the same price as back home.

There is a bus stop right outside the hotel taking you up to Coral Bay or down to the water park, which is a must. The water park is a fantastic day out which caters for the young and old. You are given a wrist band to wear to get food and drinks during the day which you pay for on your departure, which is great because you don’t need to carry any money around with you, but need to watch your budget.
The pictures in the Skytours brochure really don’t do The Land of The Kings much justice. I was very impressed with it when I got there and would certainly go back to the same hotel if I ever go back to Paphos, Cyprus.
Only had visits from maids every other day and had to ask for loo roll as we ran out and a little concerned that the bin by the toilet was not emptied daily (remember you can't put loo paper down the loo so don't have a large curry unless you know your toilet bin gets emptied next day!).
Air conditioning was not working the first day but was given a fan free until it was fixed.
All the staff were great and very helpful. Emma the rep was around if we needed her and the kids clubs reps were always around.
Food very basic Chips and more Chips but they do a great cheese omelette (Of course with Chips).
The Pool was fab very large and open from 9-7. Always sunloungers around but they are very hard to make sure that you take something to lie on e.g. a soft beach towel.
Over all if you down mind basic this is a very enjoyable hotel. We even got a Baileys off the boys behind the bar when we left.
Paphos is easy to get to; the bus service is great only 80 cents anywhere. Coral bay is great for a day at the beach also. Again the staff were great and we got to know them very well.
