Comfort Inn Median Paris Congres Hotel

From the start of our stay I knew there would be problems. Our toliet would not flush and the tub would not drain. So imagine this: Someone takes a shower the night before, the next morning you get up to take a shower and the tub is full of freezing water to your knees. Gross!! We had to ask at least 5 times for them to come fix our toliet. the one outlet they give you per room did not work. The staff was horrible. The place reeked of smoke. It was dirty and you should watch your women and children so they do not get kidnapped in the rough... more

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights together with a group of about 20 people. The general impression is you get what you deserve for the money. The staff did their best to compensate for what this hotel lucks. The toilet flush wasn't working but they had it fixed in minutes upon my request. We were in need for a remedy which we forgot back in Greece, and to my dissapointment none of the local drug stores had it and they wouldn't give me anything similar without prescription. We stayed at the Median at end Jan/Start Feb 06 and found it to be absolutely fine.Rooms clean and comfortable with NO cigarette burns ( Dunno what rooms those other people got <shrug> ). Typically European in that they aren't big, but who's going to Paris to sit in their room?? We were by the main drag and you honestly weren't even aware of it being outside. Very quiet. We stayed at this hotel last weekend and the room was very unconfortable. We asked for a double bed and we found that the room had two very very very small beds. The carpet was very dirty and full of cigarette burns. The zone around the hotel didn't seem safe at all. We were afraid of the walk from the Metro station to the hotel at night. We stayed at this hotel for three nights in February 2005. The hotel is situated on the main Paris ring road so I was anticipating a large amount of noise in the room but ours was on the back of the hotel and had double glazing so it was very quiet. The room was tiny, literally a bed and a couple of feet either side. The only chair was under the desk. We stayed here for 2 nights recently. We weren't too thrilled with the neighborhood--there was a lot of graffiti, boarded up buildings, etc. so we didn't go out after dark. There was a supermarket located about 3 blocks from the hotel. The room was a little shabby but it was clean and a little bigger than the average room in Paris. Our view included Montmarte/Sacre Coeur and the Eiffel Tower. The hotel is convenient to Metro, the peripheral highway around Paris, and CDG airport (30 minute ride on a Saturday morning). I stayed at this hotel in April 2004 for 7 nights with 23 of my high school students. We were by no means the only student group there, so be forewarned. This won't be the place for you if you are seeking 100% peace and quiet! The cons of this hotel: room sizes are average for Europe, but if you have more than 2 people in a room it is very cramped as some of my students discovered. We found many things broken....almost everyone in our group reported a broken lamp/desk/chair/haridryer....there was something wrong in every room.... more

Our first room was dirty & unpleasant, with views of the adjacent motorway, contributing to an overall poor first impression. The room had a strange layout with a bunk bed positioned over the double bed giving the room a claustrophobic feel. We moved to another room higher up the hotel which was better, as there was no overhead bunk , however the whole hotel was shabby & required redecoration. The location isn't too great as it is a fair distance from the city centre, on the plus side there are decent bus and metro services... more

Although the rooms are very average, the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. Our luggage was lost and one of the staff members made atleast 100 phone calls to locate it on a Sunday, when pretty much all the offices are closed....

Our tour group stayed at this hotel while in Paris. We were very unhappy. Our rooms were broken into and 2 passports, a camera and cash were stolen. So if you decide to stay at this hotel, keep all your valuables on you.
