" Was OK but wouldnt go again... "
Submitted By: LDTravelThis was my first holiday away with friends - we booked with 2wentys, first choice. The flights were all on time and i loved the reception being 24hour as we arrived approx 4am. It was nice to have a bit of life at that time!
In June, the main block (the one with the swimming pool) hadnt been refurbished whereas the block over the road (which was literally five steps away) was MUCH nicer!! Im not sure if the main block has been refurbished yet but, to be safe, i would request to be in the block over the road!!
The picture seen at the top of this page with the swimming pool is NOT how the swimming pool is now... There is a small jacuzzii like swimming pool in its place then a longer rectangle one a few meters away. If you're going to be in the pool quite a bit (we were as it was between 30c and 38c - reaching 40c one day) then DO NOT wear white! The pool is very chlorinated and you will have a tint of green on anything white. I washed my bikini through everyday and it still happened to me!
The bar there is GREAT. They do really nice fry ups and sandwiches and i think they served until 4pm. The drinks are REALLY cheap too! I used to have the vodka slush's in the day but the cocktails are like E2.50 - perfect place to meet up before a night out.
The beds were ok but the room wasnt great! Im glad we payed for the air con as it became so hot! (the air con also had a heat mode which we used a few times when we became cold after being in the sun all day)
The kitchen is barely a kitchen! A small fridge, kettle and what they like to call a hob (i personally dont think it was) all we used the kitchen for was to store water in the fridge and have cup of teas!
The shower didnt have a curtain so you had to learn to shower sitting down (not as far for the water to go) - it stayed fairly warm though.
Dont worry about flushing toilet roll down the toilet - we always did it and there was never a problem!
The rooms did have random decor though (dodgy cat pictures) and the draws at the bottom of the wardrobe werent the best quality either!
I didnt find the mosquitos a problem but i did take mosquito spray and sprayed it on my arms and legs at night.
The night life was good... you usually go to the same places on the 2wentys bar crawls and they start at 8pm which isnt great when u could do with a sleep before going out!! We did quite a few of the excursions and would definately recommend the booze cruise and the school disco (foam party)! We would also recommend the Battle of the Sexes but you could tag along with all the other pub crawls!
Theres a fancy dress shop near the apartments which we found great for when we wanted a themed night out!
Beach was rubbish - far too small! We never went on it. We did find a place with speed boats though which was quite good for a day out.
Cant really think of much else to say now as it was so long ago i went.. These apartments are ok if you get them cheap, and kavos is ok if your after the night life but not the beach. I wont be going to Kavos again and think id prefer to not go with a "young and lively" operator

" Ekati review "
Submitted By: AnkI'll give you a few pointers tho.....
The whole hotel is geared up for a rowdy crowd that drink late and sleep all day, so don't be expecting anything different. Maid's come later on in afternoon coz no one see's the morning, if you still in the room they wont come back and they don't speak english! Your bathroom floor will be wet all the time, there is a drain on the floor but probably no shower curtain (ours did tho, we were lucky!) So bring your own towels and use hotel towels to dry the floor! I definatly stay at Ekati again! basic but I was well impressed for what we payed and our room was huge!
2wentys do a package think it was 160 euro, it was well good fun but a rip off. Do it if you must, but I recommend taggin along with bar crawl and paying separately for booze cruise if you can.
Always try and get offers off bar promoters, otherwise not cheap!
Bring loadsa mosquito spray and there is a major wasp problem they are really anoying!!
Don't let any of that put you off tho that was the only few things I'd say and its not even a negative.
DO IT! YOU HAVE THE BEST TIME EVER!

" Me and my boyfriend went to Kavos for... "
Submitted By: Miss K TassellWe booked all the excursions with 2wentys which we did learn to regret as we missed a few and felt it was a bit of a waste. You can book them singly the day you go and I would advise this. We went on the Spank Nite, 50cent Nite, School Disco and Trinity. They were all wicked although it is hard to get drinks when its a free bar! Trinity was amazing but was so packed and it was boiling in there! School disco was the best they give you a shirt and tie that you can keep! and play all the cheesy dance songs lol so much fun! Wouldn't recommend the bar crawl night as they take you on a bar crawl before every night out, bit of a waste of money! Was to knackered and hung over to do the boat trip and water park!
Loved the 24hr bar the staff were all wicked (Spiro, Yanis and Alex) all lovely to chat to! Drinks were the cheapest in Kavos, we found it was best to stay and have a couple here before nights out coz the Reps take you on a bar crawl before every event and its much cheaper to stay at Ekati bar and find them after! Loadsa Cocktails all 2.50 Euro for a pint, same as vodka redbulls!
The Reps where all wicked! They're really good fun to go out with and will have a laugh with ya, we occasionally found they would buy you drinks lol! Obviously they are there to do their job but they are also there for a laugh and will chat and get 2 know ya!
The Restaurants around Kavos are nice, but not as cheap as we expected, for a really good meal your looking at 25 to 30Euros for 2 people. But some places do 3 course meal offers at around 7 Euros, these are good but there's a selected menu. We loved the village taverna for brekkie! it was a good portion, delicious and only 10Euros for 2 of us!
Would defo recommend Kavos and the Ekati! Wanna go back next year! Was great fun, but would advice you go in a group as it is more group orientated than couples!!!!

" I have a very mixed view of this.
This was by far the best holiday ever because it had everything I ever wanted. The apartment was nice, cheap, we had a balcony and it was good condition.
The staff on the other hand are awful. The receptionist started off being nice but turned nasty half way through the week by giving my mate a warning for doing nothing, and then kicking her out on our last night without giving us a reason. She keeps a passport at the beginning of the stay and then charged us 20 euros for a pillow we apparently lost when we didn’t. This ruined our last 24 hours in Kavos and totally put us off staying there. The bar and pool are lovely but are public.
I would recommend you stay somewhere else and just use the facilities.

" Kavos was amazing!!! The Ekati... "
Submitted By: Mr L SmithBest places at night were Rocky's, Trinity, Crush, Rolling Stones, Face Bar (during the day) and I particularly liked Atlantis, where I spent the best parts of my holiday! It smelt a bit but not as much as I was told.
The beach wasn't all that good but the pedaloes were cool. It didn't really matter though because we had a nice pool.
Be careful of the roads, I nearly got run over about 100 times....I was only there for a week!!
Enjoy!!!

Submitted By: Mr C BayThe 24 hour bar was a godsend, perfect for when all the clubs have kicked out and you still want a drink, although was a little disappointed that the '24 hour pool' wasn't actually open 24 hours.
All in all, a nice place to stay as it is at the end of the strip and slightly quieter than most places.

" 3 of us stopped at the Ekati... "
Submitted By: Miss S LucasWill defo go with 2wenties again; although some of the excursions are a waste of money; such as paying 40 Euros to have a 50 cent bar. For the amount of drinks you could get you might as well have saved your 40 Euros and paid full price.
But plus point of going with the 2wenties reps is there is a great atmosphere!! The apartments are not the best; do not expect luxury at all! You get one towel all week so take your own. It is near enough impossible to shower. Very smelly rooms.
Don’t even think about trying to make your own food in there; it won’t happen! But the staff there are very helpful and will try and sort out any problems.
Only go to the Ekati hotel if you’re up for hardly any sleep and a wild holiday because that’s what happens at the Ekati!
Overall all loved 2wentys but don’t think would go to the Ekati again.

" There were seven of us who stayed at... "
Submitted By: AberporthTwo of our group had brilliant rooms clean, big and bright but one of the group were placed on the bottom floor.
It was dark and felt damp and it had no view, just a wall but wasn’t too bad as we didn’t spend hardly any time in are rooms, only to sleep.
I do recommend renting a fan as it does get really hot in the rooms and there is no air con. The pool area was standard there was always sun beds.
The staff were friendly the beach was nice with plenty to do. One thing you must do when visiting Kavos is rent out quads.
Overall we all had an amazing holiday Kavos is an excellent place to go!!

" 4 of us (2 girls and 2 boys) went to... "
Submitted By: Mrs S FinbowThe hotel was fine, considering you only sleep and get ready there. Beds were fine, clean etc. but the shower was an absolute nightmare!
I couldn’t decide whether to have a shower standing up, holding the shower head or sitting down. Most times I wanted a shower the water wasn’t even hot, but it’s not so bad when it’s that hot outside. The fan in the room was pretty crap; we had to take the cover off the front so it worked properly!
Room was quite small and never used the cooking "facilities", except to make toast in a pan! Ha-ha. Pool was fine, not too big but loads of loungers all the time.
24 hour bar brilliant, cheap drinks. woman at reception was quite helpful, just a pain that you have to go over the road every time u want to get something out of your safety deposit box.
The 2wentys reps were absolutely fantastic. They made the holiday! They weren't too intrusive, but try and get you up to do stuff. Very chatty and make an effort to get to know you.
We booked on all the excursions (250 euros) but I wouldn’t recommend them all. First bar crawl night you HAVE to go on! Skool disco night was fantastic, but take a tie and a shirt. 50 cent night was also ace.
All drinks at limelight were 50 cents, can’t get cheaper than that! Water Park was ok, but a bit tame. Not that many big rides. Booze cruise was ok too, but wouldn’t recommend it or the pool party as there weren’t many people there.
The hotels situated right at the end of the strip which is about a mile long. Great location as it’s not noisy at night, but easy to get back by foot. Lots of nice restaurants, but also some crap ones!
Desperados was the nicest by far, and if you walk further down the strip you can find some nicer ones. Never went to the beach cos it was rubbish so stayed round the pool all the time. All the bars were great, apart from the PRs stood outside. They get so annoying!!
I ended up spending about £600 while I was out there, including the money spent on all the 2wentys trips. All in all, fantastic holiday, fantastic people! Hotel ok for what it’s used for! Would recommend the place but not the hotel!

" Me and my friend stayed in the Ekati... "
Submitted By: Miss J BartonSo we dumped our cases and headed straight for the 24-hour bar. Oh, yes! This was a big plus for me because a few people stayed up until about 7am, it was a good time to chat and have a laugh, and chill out after going to the noisy bars.
Hotel was very basic but just what we needed! Was very clean maids were round every day.
Food was ok but for a breakfast go down the road. There’s a pub on the left (can’t remember what it’s called) opposite Forum and they have proper English bacon, sausages and even black pudding!
The pool is great but highly chlorinated, so if you have blonde hair make sure you have it dyed a couple of weeks before you go or till turn green like a poor girl that was there.
I had to sit with conditioner on my hair for an hour before I washed it or my straighteners wouldn’t go through it. There’s always good music on by the pool if you’ve got a decent cd, give it to bar man and they’ll put it on for you.
Good location bout 5 mins to the nearest bar. Even closer if you fancy a kebab, burger or pizza on your way home.
If you're up for making friends and going on the pull, block book all the excursions when you get there. Comes to about E250 but well worth it. Included a booze cruise, few pub crawls stuff like that usually with a free bar thrown in for a couple of hours.
Tip: When you book the holiday ask to put air conditioning as a preference. Not all rooms have AC but we hired a fan which helped a bit but mainly circulated the hot air around the room. As it was over 40 degrees most days this wasn’t nice. The mosquitoes were awful this year, so couldn’t really leave balcony doors open either.
All in all if you’re up for a laugh and a brill holiday but don’t mind basic rooms...go to the Ekati!

" Me and my fiancé paid £550 for a... "
Submitted By: Miss KL WaltonOur flight was a couple of hours delayed on the way out due to a technical fault but they soon got another replacement plane. Landed in Corfu at about 3.30am and we were looked after by the reps and taken to kavos. When we pulled up outside the ekati I was really impressed and so was my fiancé, it looked a damn site better than some of the apartments we had passed on the way.
We had to pay 20 euros for our safe which was across the road-a bit of a bind but as we took 1500 euros in cash it was a necessity for us. When we walked into the room I was impressed with the cleanliness-it was spotless. There was a fan in the room and a 2 ring hob, kettle, and sink, also a cupboard with minimal pots and pans and crockery etc. A bit difficult if you wanted to cook your own food every night but alright for the odd snack. In the same room there were 2 single beds (which we pushed together), and a dressing table with mirror above it. There were some drawers in the dressing table and a bedside table with a couple of drawers too. There was also a wardrobe with hangers.
The only problems we had were in the bathroom, to start with you couldn't swing a cat, and the window in the bathroom opened onto the apartment corridor with no way of locking it so anybody could climb into your apartment. Fortunately we had got some gaffa tape with us (for the mosquito net) so we stuck it shut from the inside, in hope of deterring people who may try to open it-and it worked. The problem resulting from this though was that the bathroom got really hot as you couldn't let the heat escape. The shower wasn't as bad as I'd heard, yes there isn't anywhere to hang it from but you just get used to it.
There was a balcony overlooking the main road which you shared with another apartment, we were lucky because no one was staying next door the whole week so we got it to ourselves. The pool was really nice, not a massive pool and I can imagine it being a problem in high season, but we didn't have to share it with too many people.
Plenty of sun loungers to choose from, some of which were set back away from the music so it's not as loud. Enjoyed the 24hr bar, but not as much as my fiancé! Snacks were really decently priced too. The pizza's are gorgeous! Loads of cocktails to choose from, can't go wrong at 2 for 5 euro.
The maid came every day except Sunday and mopped, brought new towels and toilet roll, made beds, even folded my boyfriend's t-shirts! All in all good value for money accommodation, reps were always around chatting to people and were not too pushy (we went with twenties).
I you hire a vehicle I would recommend 'Barry Sheene's' just up the road on the same side as ekati. We hired a suzuki jimny for 2 days at 50 euro per day inclusive of insurance. We also had a dirt buggy for a day for the same price-really cool! In actual fact one of the mud guards came off whilst driving it and he never made us pay for it like some of the other car hire places did.
If you want an authentic Greek meal, make sure you go to 'The Village Taverna'. Every 15 minutes they do fire dancing, plate smashing, one of the waiters was even balancing chairs and tables in his teeth-you gotta see it to believe it! Really nice food there too.
The touts are annoying but just say no and they will leave you alone. Beach a bit crappy too, washed up seaweed all over, and broken glass, so never sunbathed there. However we did drive to Santa Barbara beach, and sunbathed there. Takes about 10-15 mins. We were told to stick to the beaches on the left side of the island as all the ones on the right side were full of seaweed.
On the way back they forgot our in flight meal so I received a voucher for that but I would definitely go with first choice again and definitely go back to the ekati if it was in a different location. Corfu is a beautiful island if you get out of kavos. Kavos seems to be overpriced, dirty and full of groups of girls and lads.

Advice: Kavos is great for pubbin and clubbin. Not much to do during the day without paying a fortune
Activities: Face bar, rocky bar, rolling stones, mojos
