" Best week ever! If you’re not too... "

Best week ever! If you’re not too fussed about having a top notch hotel then Ekati is the one. A group of 7 of us went for a week, the room was basic - beds, a sink, and a bathroom - which was pretty jank, but we coped fine!

The maids do a wicked job of keeping everything spick and span, and the rumours about it being haunted is a load of rubbish.

You have to pay 20 euros each when you get there for a fan and safety box which was a bit off, but you'd probably need them anyway!

And the main reason we are all there was the night life, it’s absolutely mental, my personal fave bar was the 'Rolling Stone' get in for all that Indie music baby. The PRs are so annoying 'We are jus going for food' is a good line, or 'I've lost my mate, I’ll be back' but they are just doing their jobs!

Reps with 2wentys are wicked, always up for a laugh Steve-o and Elaine in the Ekati were great. 'Corrrrrr, Giz a smile!'

The trips were quite expensive but were good, the bar crawl was a laugh, wkd atmosphere and the Blue Lagoon boat trip was a wicked last day chill out. The beach was a bit naff, but there are loads of pools there.

So yeah, wicked holiday, I'm gutted that I’m home now! I want to go back! Check out a white t-shirt signed by the 'Kent Crew' behind the 24 hour bar! Yes 24 hour! Because that’s us lot! Have a wicked time!

" First of all, remember this is a one... "

First of all, remember this is a one star rated apartments.

Accommodation

Ok this is probably the most bit of the stay. The apartment was basic to say the least, I wouldn’t plan on eating in the apartment, coz the plates and cups etc are horrible. Lighting we had 2 working bulbs out of 6 (one in bathroom one in main room) and the shower, well no curtain no rail basically just a hose which sprayed everywhere.

On the good side the maid came 4/5 days out of 7 and changed the sheets once i think. The walls etc were clean and there was no animals etc.

Quite a lot of drawers and cupboards etc for clothes.

Safety

Kavos seems quite safe, gypsies were about selling roses/hats and stuff like that wouldn’t suggest getting wallet out in front of them. But at the apartments you get a safe key in which you can keep your passport, extra money etc as well as a fan. This costs 20 euros each, so bring extra with you for that.

Food

As people said before 3 course meals were about 7 euros, there was a nice restaurant across the road from the apartments (Joint Kitchen) that did that deal and was really decent food. Snacks etc round the pool were about 3 - 5 euros for hotdogs/pizzas etc.

Clubs/Bar

Prices in clubs n bars seemed to be around 5 euros for a beer (Bud etc) 6 euros for cheeky vimto and 6 euros for the infamous Head F****r . In the apartments it was a euro a shot and 2.50 for a pint of beer. Seemed to be RnB music in most places.

2wentys packages

When you get there you get a welcome meeting thing, this is just so they can sell you packages, if you don’t want any then don’t go, you don’t need to. There was quite a lot of different things there you could do within the 2wentys package, but all of them cost around 30 euros each so take a lot of money if your planning on doing them. We went on the water park one (this is for kids really only about 5 big slides) and school disco (this was great fun would suggest it to everyone, bring a white shirt and tie though as it costs 15 euros otherwise, and a pens good too to have shirt signed)

Pool area

The pool was open from 8ish in the morning till about 9 at night, and was smallish really, did the job of cooling you off and had new music playing throughout the day. (Got sick of hearing from Paris to Berlin 5 times everyday lol) Always free beds round the pool, which are plastic and adjustable.

Sea

Went to the beach once, wasn’t too impressed was loads of boats around the waters edge so not really good for swimming.

Overall

If your not too fussy about the rooms and just want quite a lot of beer, without pumping music keeping you awake when you get in then this is a good place to stay. The lack of air conditioning is a bit of a killer, but you get used to it. Good if there is a few of you and are quite outgoing.

PS. bring some mosquito repellent as we got bitten every night.

" Hi, me and my boyfriend stayed here... "

Hi, me and my boyfriend stayed here last year for a week in June, The room in the apartment was by far the worst I have ever stayed in, although the beds were clean the bathroom was smelly and dirty, and the shower if it could be called that left a lot to be desired.

The rooms at the back of the apartments look out onto a concrete wall about 3 meters away from you. However the pool area was nice with plenty of sun beds which were free, and the staff are friendly and polite. Kavos itself was very lively lots of bars along the main street, drink prices were ok much like most cities back home 4.50 Euros for WKD, most places do 2 for one on cocktails and local spirits for about 5euros. There are lots of pr's, does get a bit annoying after you have walked past 20 pubs and everyone’s at you, a polite no thanks usually works though.

Only went to the beach once, not the best beach but the water is clean and clear, however there is lots of seaweed washed up on it overall the beach looked a bit neglected. We did go on a boat trip over to mainland Greece were you get to jump off the boat and go champagne diving, we also went on the bar crawl which was a good laugh. for both of these trips for the both of us cost 90euros. So if your planning on doing any of trips with the tour operator take plenty of money with you because although they say its a free bar you have to pay to do the trip in the first place, and the" free "bar only lasts two hours.

If you are female and like to shop there is very few shops just the usual gift shops. There are a few supermarkets which sell everything you could need, and there are lots of great little places to eat one of them being right next door to the apartments, all the restaurants offer a 3 course meal for 7-10 euros which is really cheap. I would say Kavos and the Ekati apartments are aimed at young people, if your 18-23 and in a group and love clubbing and drinking, Kavos is the place for you!

Ps. take plenty of insect repellent because so many people were walking about like they had a bad dose of the measles.

" For this sort of holiday Ekati is all... "

For this sort of holiday Ekati is all you need. It is very comfortable the rooms are fine and clean. The bar is very good with good prices and the pool area is excellent. The food served is also good.

Ekati has the best location in Kavos, 5 minutes away from the nightlife and 5 minutes away from the beach. It is perfect. Chilled out quiet peaceful when you want to be back at your hotel, 5 minutes later its banging everywhere.

If you are going to Kavos, check in at Ekati, your holiday is guaranteed to be superb.

" Ok, so the Ekati was not the best in... "

Ok, so the Ekati was not the best in the world. The shower was not fitted to the wall, we had no way of making food, and the walls were thin, BUT, the apartments were clean and the pool area was nice enough, and always quiet, so it was easy to get a sun lounger. The music played at the pool was pretty loud, but hey, it made the time in the sun pass quickly. I still had a fab holiday, and mate and me said we’d def go back. The best thing about the Ekati, is that it is at the edge of Kavos, about a ten minutes walk to the clubs, so the only noise heard, is of people walking home at night.

If you have booked for here, it is fab, and you’ll have a fab holiday, just don’t be too fussy about looking for something perfect! The Ekati is good enough for all you’re there for.

" Studio style apartments so quite... "

Studio style apartments so quite small. Clean rooms, although because of the star rating (**) the linen change was only once weekly.

Good size balcony, but ask for a front facing balcony if possible as other rooms look out onto a wall. Good sized pool, which gets the sun all day - loungers are provided by the pool free of charge. Bar/cafe below the apartments, which is used for welcome parties & Twenties activities.

Safety deposit boxes available at a charge across the street, as is a telephone & local shop. Apartments are situated at the start of what we called "The Gauntlet" - the main street which contains all the bars & clubs.

There are a wide variety of shops, car/moped/bike rental shops, local bars/restaurants, British bars/restaurants & clubs open until the early hours. There is also a taxi rank approx. 2-minute walk from the apartments.

The beach is a 5-minute walk away, although we found this quite small & unclean. There are various beachfront bars/cafes, which are really nice.
