" Worth evri single penny "

This hotel is absolutli brilliant for value for money. being all inclusive there are snacks and drink on all the time however after 12 at night just fruit until breakfast which is the onli set back i can name for this hotel. it is onli a 10min walk from the square which is the main strip for nightlife, and a 5 min for the beach. the staff are sound are the maids do a gd job. i was sceptical at first reading reviews about occassional robberies and such but experienced none of the kind whilst i was there. my onli advice is to get a safe, but that is just a standard in evri hotel you go to. overall i would definetly go back as i think they paid me to go to there hotel with how much moneys worth i got off them! lol.

Advice: you have to go in the peak season (june - August) for the younger nightlife.

Activities: too drunk - carnt rember seeing anything!! lol

" super dooper magic rock (: "

me and my 15 year old daughter have been to the magic rock twice and are going back for a third time in october, i have been reading some of the comments left saying bad things and pulling the magic rock down, but i am going to have to disagree with them, as we have had some of the best holidays there. you cannot fault anything at all about the hotel or the staff, all staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The food is fantastic, always a different range of food, and plenty of it, you are never stuck for choice. There is also some great entertainment, mini disco first for the little kids, and then proper entertainment, dancing acts, animal shows, a singer eddy. Eddy is one of the best parts of entertainment, makes his entertainment lively, gets everyone joining in, is pleasant, and sometimes holds a kareoke for you to join in. the cardiac hill is not as bad as people make out, its not that steep, its quite easy to walk. the beach is two minutes away from the hotel as long as the shops, bars, restaurants. there is also a 24 hour snack bar after midnight, including sandwhichs, fruit, drinks. Me and my daughter cant wait for October to come, to be back at the Magic Rock (:

Advice: a lovely place, worth a visit :)

Activities: all inclu, so didnt eat out. but called at beach rock cafe for drink and snack. staff very friendly.

" down at fraggle rock "

well where to start, there was nothing magic about this place at all 24hr inclusive meant that after 12 midnight you could have a selection of cheap gin vodka whiskey or brandy or beer or wine at a self service bar which was minging, often there was no beer or wine left due to the high number of people in the tiny bar area, there was little supervision mianly one staff on reception who dimmed the lights at 12midnight so our party of 6 felt we were past our bedtime food in the restaurant was very repetative, entertainment was the same man over 4 nights. there was sadly a fatality on our second night and because the family were flying out on the monday morning the hotel manager, deputy manager and hotel security all decided to put in an appearance on sunday .this is our second time to benidorm and after staying at the flamingo oasis last year and loving it this was certainly an eye opener we love to have a drink laugh and dance but with the lack of staff the help yourself 24hr bar was thoroughly abused thank god i didnt book for a family holiday but if your looking for a 24hr booze up lots of football songs that you only know the first three lines to and a lot of effing and jeffing then this is the place for you !!!

Advice: benidrm has something to offer all ages

Activities: the beach is lovely and clean

" great place "

Having returned from this hotel after being there for 2nd year I felt must write a positve review as all those I read before going made me worried as to what sort of hotel/holiday I was going to have this time round! On arrival we were met and showm to reception where we were given a drink straight away while we waited a few minutes to be given our room cards and information, all the staff were extremly helpfull and curteous nothing was a chore or a problem the hotel was clean and the food was very good there was never a day when you could'nt find something to eat there was always an endless stream of hot and fresh food being put out on the hot/cold plates and plenty of it. You could also drink alcohol 24hours a day if you wished yet while we were there we never saw anyone so drunk they could'nt stand up or drunk during the day!We were a party of 8 people and had an absoultly great time! the only down side was for part of the week the the resturant must of been short of staff and you either had to clear a table to eat or ask a waiter to which they did no problem they just could'nt keep up with the turnover. On a note the beach is fab the nite life is great if you want it and there are great shows on in some of the pubs and if you look around you can still get cheap good beer the triangle just at the bottom of the hill has a good atomoshere. note of caution dont use the exchang at the bootom of the hill as it looks like he gives you a good rate and no commission but we made the mistake of going in and for £100 english we were charged £17 when we questioned him and asked for our money back he flicked the hidden board down an showed us the real costs and that we could nt get money back! use the exchanges in the tobacco shops as you don't have any commission charged.

Advice: great for young and old we will go back again for our girls week !

" brilliant holiday "

this was a brilliant holiday. the food was excellent as there was a variety and theres no way that you could get board. the all inclusive package is well worth the money as it was 24/7. yes there were a few rowdy guest but a quiet word with reception and it was sorted, the same in the nightclub they didnt tolerate any drunken behaviour. the entertainment was adequate but you make the best out of it as we did.cardiac hill is a begger but i have severe ashtma and id just had a major operation and if you take it easy you will manage it as i did.
yes i suppose you can find fault but i couldnt, it was clean and tidy and very friendly so if you get a good deal GO.
one major thing to know and store away. on leaving the hotel DONT WAIT for the taxi to take you down cardiac hill to the pick up point as it WONT turn up. leave early and walk with your luggage to the pick up point as the shuttle bus WONT WAIT.

" Great Hotel and Staff "

We booked the holiday at this hotel then looked at the reviews on this and various other sites, both the good and the very bad. we was terrified to think what we would find when we got there. The truth is and not to go on and on. The place place was great we went all inclusive so we could use the other 6 or 7 hotels in Benidorm owned by this group for meals and drinks. The staff where very friendly all of them and the variety of food excellent. The hotel was Clean and tidy all the time. Also this great big hill evryone keeps going on about believe me there is hills alot steeper in benidorm. So dont let any reviews put you off.

" Below Average "

Myself and a friend visited this hotel in August of this year. We had booked at the start of the year and had no problems with the company, outgoing flight was very pleasant. I was worried as i had read some bad reviews. The hill isnt actually as bad as i was expecting and the beach is literally a stones throw away. We had some trouble with the hotel staff as they sometimes couldnt understand us and often they would see the spanish people before others.
The key cards given to us at the begining had to be replaced several times because they wouldnt work in the restaurant or at the bar. The room was nice, it was clean and a nice size. The noise wasnt too bad, but you cant expect it to be totally silent as people are on their holidays and having a good time.
I found this hotel average but nothing special. At a 3 STAR hotel you wouldnt expect to find vomit in the lifts , which we did on a couple of occasions. The food was nice, there was a range of different things so something for everyone and the staff in the restaurant were friendly. Definately go to the medival night as it was really good and take advantage of the surrounding pubs and clubs as the hotel dosent offer much in the way of entertainment for adults. Good for kids though.
My biggest piece of advice is to stay safe and stay with your mates because like anywhere there are undesirable types around and lads looking for a bit of a holiday fling. Girls - keep an eye on your drinks!! Overall i have to say i was not majorly impressed with this hotel, there are some nicer hotels in and surrounding benidorm for probaly a similar price.

" great time had by all "

after reading reviews about this hotel we wre a bit worried. Myself, husband and 2 sons (15 and 8 year old) along with 9 other friends and families went to this hotel and had a great time. Food was very good and all kinds of tastes catered for. The hill up to the hotel was a little steep and not what we expected from other reviews. I must say that the entertainment girls were excellent and a little "el loco". Join in the games they are all good fun and the kids disco is great for learning new dances. The shows that were laid on by the hotel are ok and if you are staying A.I. you get to go on the Medievil Night for free and all you have to pay for is the transport which is 6euros each. Terra mitica was great as we were there for the halloween activities and the water park and mundomar were good for the kids. Only bad bit were the Spanish residents they were really pushy and loud and didnt give a hoot about any other guests but the english barman sorted them when they tried to skip the queue at the bar. Oh and at the medievil night you can use your A.I. card for drinks at the magic show. All in all we all had a great time on hols and would go back tomorow if we could.

" My husband and son who is 16 went to... "

My husband and son who is 16 went to this hotel. From the reveiws I was expecting a hell hole. What we found was a lovely hotel with ample of food and drink that catered for everyone. Hotel staff were friendly and the apartments were clean and tidy. They were a bit small but who stays in the rooms anyway. The only one critisium is that the night entertainment was not up to much it catered for the spanish mostly and young children, but with loads of clubs and pubs at walking distance who needed them. The cardiac hill was not as bad as it made out that is coming from someone who smokes and is unfit. The spanish guest were rude but did not let them bother us we are on holidays as well as them. The pool area was always clean and tidy and there was ample of sunbeds but not many brollies. I would go back there again yes. As for the bad reviews you get what you pay for and in my opinion it was well worth the money if you want more book a five star hotel and see what you get there for you money.

" We have returned from our third visit... "

We have returned from our third visit at the magic rock. When I asked my kids where they would like to holiday they replied magic rock again. WHY?

On every visit they have enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. From the housekeeping through to the reception staff hav e always been thorough ans friendly.

The food is always hot and varied, feeding hundreds is not an easy task as everyone has different tastes,I find hard enough to keep four people happy so do not envy them their job. Quite frankly if you are that fussy go self catering and stop whinging.

Again if you dont like the drinks why are you going all inclusive it says in the brochures that the drinks are locally produced,

Spanish on holiday in Spain well who would ever of thought of that. A smile and manners go a long way. We have holidayed in Spain for 15yrs and have never ever been upset by a Spanish holidaymaker but on many occassioned have been embarrassed by loud brash brittish.

The hotel is a good base with good food plesant staff. The hill is fine. Benidorm is a great place with something for everyone.

" Myself and a friend booked through... "

Myself and a friend booked through Thompson, we stayed at Magic rock Gardens in all inclusive,
The food at the hotel was very poor as well as the service,no air con in room, no communication with the tour operators. we had to pay for most drinks even though we paid for all inclusive, the pool was tiny.
On leaving the hotel Thompson didnt provide a coach and we had to pay for a taxi to the airport which cost 62 euros. Very dissapointed with Thompsons in all ways and will never travel with these people again.

" I went on Holiday with my mate and... "

I went on Holiday with my mate and his 9yr old son, the holiday was booked after reading these reviews, most good some very bad so we went with an open mind of the opinion that if it was as bad as some claim we would insist on a transfer to another hotel in the group.
There were some issues with the flight and transfers however these were to do with Freedoom Travel and not the Magic Group so I won't bore you with the details.
We arrived at the Magic Rock about 11.00hrs, we were dropped off at the rear of the hotel, because the coaches can't access the main reception, our travel agent had advised us of this beforehand so it wasn't a problem. The second floor reception is very basic and doesn't really provide a good first impression of the hotel, however it is only there because the the main reception is not accessible by coach, not because the coach can't get up the hill but because it has no room to turn to get back down.
The Spanish receptionist was very pleasant and after checking our paperwork directed us downstairs to main reception for room allocation.
The hotel Has been given an African theme and having been to Sun City in S.Africa I knew exactly what they were trying to achieve with this and found it to be successful in it's attempts and appreciated them.
Check in was very quick and we were allocated a room immediately, staff spoke excellent English.
The room was a great size for 2 and OK for 3, it was spotlessly clean and fiercely air-conditioned with a pool & beach view, the room was prepared for 2 but within an hour of arriving our maid Toni had prepared a 3rd bed, the bathroom was a good size with loads of storage space and the shower was excellent...the only downside was that there was no balcony however our travel agent had also advised us of this in advance so it's not a complaint.
I've read some of the above reviews and I really do wonder if we were staying in the same hotel as some of the commenters on here the staff were really friendly especially Duncan,Kati and the absolutely beautiful restaurant supervisor who was always smiling and always had something nice to say say to everyone as she swiped the guests in, whether they cared to listen in some cases is another matter. The food was plentiful, delicious and varied although chips and pizza were on offer every night for those that like that kind of thing. The Spanish are great meat eaters and this is reflected in the menu as is the variety of salads on offer, however the desserts were a bit too sugary for my taste but the Spanish as a nation do have a sweet tooth and we are in Spain at the Magic Rock.
The Hotel is very central to where it's all happening in Benidorm and the beautiful Poinete Beach literally 5mins from the door, there is a hill but it is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe (anyone from Glasgow it's no worse than George Sq to Cathedral St) although I wouldn't like to have to push a wheelchair up it and women in heels did struggle, I'm a bit of a lazy git who likes to drive everywhere and I managed it no bother with no 'huffy puffy' and so should anyone who is not totally out of shape....there is a hill but it really isn't THAT steep!
No-one at the Magic Rock seems to get out of bed before 10.00hrs so getting a sunbed is not a problem, the upper solarium is a sun trap until about 16.00hrs after which the sun disappears behind the tropic apartments but if you move downstairs to the bar area you'll get the sun til sunset.
The kids club is BRILLANT withe the kidz entertainers working from 11 til 7 in English and Spanish we hardly saw the younger member of our party during the day light hours but the kids do have to want to go with them, they don't talk the kids into going our kid did shooting, pool bingo, aqua aerobics, water polo, killer pool, nintendo Wii and karoke and that was in just a day!! Those girls do a great job with the kids and deserve some praise.
There were some complaints about the spirits that were on offer to guests in the evening however as a beer/wine drinker who was in bed for 23.30hrs each night I can't really comment, I will say that i never had to wait too long for a drink at the bar, with regards to the entertainment I didn't see too much not because it wasn't there but because I wasn't!! Benidorm is the entertainment capital of Europe so we went out or sat in the patio area playing cards but there did seem to be something on every night, for the one i did see i did i would question why they had a childrens entertainer doing Michael Jackson show, but who am I to comment on that the kids liked it!
I'm going on a bit now so I will end with..in my opinion the Magic Rock was excellent value for money and next time I go to Benidorm I will be using the Magic Group and I would like to end with a special thanks to Toni the maid who did an excellent job, to often the maids who clear up the mess we leave daily are given little or no recognition..if anyone from the Magic Rock reads this then let her know her efforts were appreciated as were those of Duncan, Kati and the Senora in the restaurant upon whom our youngest developed a bit of a crush which we both found to be so sweet.
In Summary The Magic Rock is a Solid 3 Star Spanish hotel offering great value for money, I can't fault it!!
