Submitted By: Mr Kp Mayhewlager was fine but spirits were a little weak to say the least, the Hotel was clean & tidy with maid service every day,the staff were very friendly when they got to know you,
we had no rude encounters at all during our stay. This Holiday was worth every penny we paid & would recomend to couples (not so much for kids as the hill is a bit of a drag).
If you want a cheap package all inclusive break this is the one,we went in mid March the weather was fine & the resort its self was cleaned up every morning from the night before.

Our arrival at Magic Rock Gardens was less than impressive, dropped at the bottom of a back street at 01:30 and told by the bus driver that our hotel was 'up there'. 'up there' was dark no lights on just a dark street. We found the hotel by chance as we had to stop for a rest! The back entrance was dark when we got in it was a bit of a hassle to find the other reception desk.
Check in went pretty smoothly, found our room and opened the door and 'WHOA' the stench of raw sewage was over whelming, plus the smell of smoke was quite overpowering. We are non-smokers but at 02:30 all we wanted to do was sleep. The next day my husband went to reception to report the smell as it was making him feel sick. They eventually sent maintenance, what they did nobody knows because the smell remained - we bought toilet products to try mask the smell. 2 days later we decided we should not have to put up with this smell we waited over an hour to see the duty manager to try for another room but we were totally ignored whilst he sat in he bar with his colleagues in a meeting!!!!! We gave up in the end as other people said that their rooms were equally as smelly.
My husband then ended up with severe diarrhoea and vomiting and in bed for 2 days - the pharmacist at the bottom of cardiac hill was very helpful and advised us to be careful of the food!!!!!!! Onto the food - yes there was plenty of choice but not always edible. It was either under or over cooked and rotated from one meal to another and its the only hotel we have been to that provides microwaves at the end of the servery.
The staff are not overly friendly and they don't go out of their way to be helpful.
The hotel was dark and dirty. in 2006 Spain stopped smoking in public areas - here you have to walk to througth the smoking lounge to get from reception to restaurant and visa versa. The other smoking area was in the Safari bar where the entertainment was also where the children was needless to say we never saw the entertainment being non-smokers.
Alot of the reviews we read mentioned the champayne reception but this was time selective and not there for all arrivals.
The hotel was noisy - mainly at night with people running around or partying in their room and the walls are so thin you could join in next doors conversations.
The hotel is not fit for young children the small play area is dirty and unsafe my child had scratches from it. The pools were not very clean and maintenance were slow to complete the work. It was funny to see people moving their sunloungers to catch the sun before the shade took over!! There was alot of shade due to the high rise hotels in the near vicinity.
The lifts were too small for the hotel and not always reliable - beware when exiting the lifts as the floors do not always meet and we saw people tripping out of them. One also has a large crack in the floor.
All in all a very disappointing hotel. We never got to sample the others in the group due to my husband needing to be close to a loo. I know people say you get what you pay for but we did not get what we paid for!!
If you go to this hotel do not say that you were not warned.

Submitted By: Mr T WetherillThe staff were efficient, pleasant + friendly, the room was spacious + clean, + the food very varied + acceptable, with lots of salad + fresh fruit to go with the carvery + general hot dishes.
As we tend to go out at night to sample the entertainment on offer in Benidorm, the in-house entertainment is not too important to us, but when we did stay in, the entertainers worked their socks off, particularly for the children, + were welcoming + smiling at all hours of the day, with lots of costume changes + themed activities; also greeting diners with different drinks on their entry to the airy restaurant.
The much-mentioned "Cardiac Hill" we already knew about, but another pleasant surprise was that the coach driver brought us to the other reception entrance, which is on the second floor + reached from a different road,so we did not have the expected 100 yards walk with the suitcases either on entry or on checking out.
Okay, some of the all-inclusive drinks were weak, although lager drinkers were certainly happy, as this was excellent! All in all, with the facility to use the other hotels in the goup an added bonus, we felt we had a very good deal---and the weather in January was beutiful as well!

Submitted By: Miss K CastelloIn response to the person who said Eddie was awful, I completely disagree. He does an awful lot to make sure the guests are entertained. He has an amazing voice, as well as doing the karaoke and games for them to join in with. He sat and chatted to us in-between his acts and is one of the friendliest people I have ever met.
I cannot wait to go back to this hotel. 10/10.

Submitted By: Miss S HoverNo effort was put in with the entertainment during the second week with us being subjected to a pub singer called Eddie from Ashington, who was AWFUL! He was a cross between a darts player, pimp and a sleazy Blackpool backstreet entertainer, who thought he was something else!
During the first week the food was very good, although not very hot! Unfortunately after a lovely Friday menu things went downhill. Food was almost always cold, inedible and beef dishes such as, cannelloni, meat & potato pie and bolognese were made with badly cooked pork instead of the usual beef. The chips were cold and rock hard 99% of the time and the custard was a sugary syrupy mess (which my kids incidentally loved). The plus side was all locally produced drinks were free with the all inclusive deal and there was a 24 hour bar and refreshment section.
General customer service from staff and maids was very good and polite, but unfortunately very little information was given regarding room keys, safes, TV's, air conditioning and the all inclusive deals. We had to resort to asking other fellow Brits in the hotel to help us out. Also, the reps were hardly ever around and we ended up organising our own trips with another rep from a different company!
In closing, I'd like to say make sure you go to the free Medieval night (if you stay for 7 nights or more), as it's well worth it, but please be prepared to wait around a little, while they faff about with organising whatever it was they were doing... and please don't get 'dressed' up too much or wear heels, unless you're used to your feet killing you within an hour or two! The pools are beautiful, but are freezing cold - PLEASE HEAT THEM!!!

Submitted By: Mrs S MckieThe staff were very friendly they also had plenty of English staff who made you feel comfortable. The hill to the hotel wasn't too bad. before we went there were loads of reviews complaining about the hill to the hotel, but we didn't have much of a problem. Suppose it would be difficult for the elderly.
The food wasn't great as I am vegetarian the meals were limited, but what I did have was nice. My friend ate rather well so the rest must have been pretty good.
We went on the complimentary medieval night which was quite fun.
Overall I think this hotel was pretty good and would certainly stay there again if I take my holiday in Benidorm again.

Submitted By: niiknacI thought the food was ok but my boyfriend didn’t like it at all.
The hill is not that bad, if you can’t face it you can always go down to your left and go down that way.
I wouldn’t use this hotel again but only because I didn’t feel that the pool got enough sun because of all the high rises round about.
I heard there was a pool on the roof however this was closed when we were there so I can’t be sure.
If you like the beach then this hotel would be great as its only a 2 min walk.

Submitted By: Miss D StarrFirst impressions of the hotel from the outside was lovely and also inside. Very clean and tidy. There are a few steps upto reception but they do have a ramp for wheel chairs.
The rooms are very small and clean. The view from the room was then back of another hotel. Ask for a sea view before you book the holiday with the agent. Not many of the rooms have balconies but you can upgrade your room at reception at check in as they do ask you. There is a small charge to do this.
The location of the hotel is quite away from the main area of benidorm, night clubs are a good twenty minutes walk down hill from the hotel. There is a few shops, bars, and restaurants at the bottom of the bank close to Levante beach.
The buffet restaurant in the hotel is set out well and the food was ok. What you would expect on an all inclusive holiday.
Never stayed for the entertainment in the hotel as the night life and entertainment of Benidorm is at your fingertips. There is definitely something for everyone.
I would not go back to this hotel due to the location as it is a bit out compared to some of the other all inclusive. I would not recommend this to families or older couples.
If you want a cheap holiday then I say go. But remember the steep hill it’s a killer.

Submitted By: Mrs S HarrisonWe had a party of 5 adults, 1 child and 1 infant all staying on all inclusive. We found the hotel clean, the food was great, lots of choice, and you couldn’t go hungry here.
The snack bar around the pool was great too, they made fab pizzas, so good they were gone within minutes of coming out of the oven.
The staff were all friendly and really helpful, and the kids club entertainers just couldn’t be faulted in fact I wish I could of took them home to keep mine entertained. This was a really great holiday and I would go back to this hotel again.
The only thing I would fault is cardiac hill but there is a slightly easier back road that you can take down to the shops and beach.
All in all this was a great value holiday and thoroughly enjoyed by all we were sorry to have to go home.

Submitted By: Miss D ClarkeI didn’t rate the rep at all. When she finally boarded the bus she conducted the whole tour reading off a clip board talking with her back 2 us all the time not drawing breathe then finally fell asleep.
Arrival at the hotel I had booked 2 rooms, this meant 1 room was 812 and the other 815 they were promised they would be next door to each other when I complained they said that I could complain to the manager but she said he wasn’t in.
We arrive at mid day and were not allowed to go to our rooms until 3pm. With 5 children that was bad. The Spanish look after there own the kids are loud and rude and the people if you smile at them they give you a nasty look.
Apart from that I actually liked the hotel could do with a good dust though. Food great, entertainment great drinks on tap.
My kids loved it and we are going back mid October 2007 but not using 1st choice.

When we got the glass lift up to our room we found a free bottle of champayne in the fridge and everything was lovely. Untill we noticed we had 2 single beds wedged together rather then one double that we had paid for and requested.
By the time the management staff said they would change us rooms it was 2 days before we were due to fly home and so there was not much point in doing so.
The walls were very thin. I could hear people either side of me talking into late at night and hear the 'clip' of the womens shoes in the room above.
Apart from these problems everything else was fine to do with the room.
The cleaner was very good although when the sign for ' do not disturb ' was on the door she let herself in anyway and asked if we wanted it cleaned, which was worrying as we didnt know if she was doing the same when we wasnt there!?
The food in the restraunt was always nice, hot and fresh, you could have it cooked infront of you to ensure this although we didnt feel the need to, it was pretty much the same food everyday, with each meal, with diffrent soups and one diffrent main thing.
The main grumble is about a man who kept rfusing to let us inthe restraunt bearing in mind we was all inclusive, if we wanted drinks, he quite rudley said BAR! and nothing else, after the third time, when we told the deputy manager she said the spainish language is abrupt, they dont take time to expalin becaus eit isnt in there nature, and she said she would speak to him, this was not a valid answer.
The hotel was over all good. I wouldnt say more then that, i would only go back if i was strapped for cash and it was a quick fix holiday, although it is pretty i cant stand paying good hard earned money to be spoken to rudley.
Please take this into consideration. I read reviews about it being not so good and didnt listen, i thought, thats just one persons opinion, but this truely is my honest review.
The First Choice Rep Was Amazing!!!!!! dealt with all our problems and sent us on amazing free trips.
