We had booked this hotel around Valentine's time and wanted somewhere to stay which was close to the city and had the basic provisions one would expect. When we arrived at the hotel, we were amazed how small the room was and with two narrow single beds put together to make a "pretend" double bed, the bathroom was no larger than a matchbox with stains on the sink. The bed was so uncomfortable we were aching all over in the morning. The hotel is marked as a 3 star hotel but there is no way this is of 3 star quality, I would say 1 star or 2 star on a good day. We asked for an iron in the evening and were first told that there would not be one available until the morning, then we went to see the staff, who were very rude, who said ok ok 'you will get your iron in one hour'. So, we had to wait a whole hour for the ONE iron the hotel owns and when we got it, it looked like something from the 70s and it damaged an expensive shirt. We requested to change rooms from the manager and were provided with an alternate room, this time the bed was a double bed but the bathroom had shrunk beyond belief, I have seen wardrobes bigger than this!! The whole night we heard plumbing noises (people flushing the lavatory, running water and noises of doors opening and closing). The hotel staff could not even successfully call a taxi!! If you want to enjoy Paris, then avoid this terrible place.
What are these other people on?!

I just wanted to give this hotel the credit it deserved as no body else seemed to! Me and my friend stayed in this hotel for 3nights after booking it through eurostar.com. Its about 10km from the main station (train) and there are two bus roots the 72 and the 22 that run right into the center about every 10mins! And there metro is really close. We turned up were checked straight in with no hassle. The staff are friendly and multi-lingual which makes asking questions with limited french no problem! The room was spacious with a lush bathroom avec very nice bath! The changed the room everyday and we had no problems what so ever. Breakfast is 7-10 every morning and included every thing from pain au chocolat to fruit salad! There was absolutly nothing wrong with anything about this hotel at all. Its friendly, clean, in a really nice area because its not too close to the centre but not too far out (there are some nice places to eat nearby as well) and there is always someone at reception if you have a problem. All in all....c'est parfait! :)
Tiny, poor value for money
from papamojo
I booked this hotel through Priceline's European site, Booking.com. While I've had good experiences with them, I should have checked the TA reviews as I usually do. The hotel was generally ok, not too run down and decent staff. However, when I arrived and went to my room, to my surprise (even though I booked non-smoking) it was on a smoking floor. When I asked for a change, they said it wasn't possible becuase 'everyone now asks for a non-smoking room'. I was upset, but there was nothing I could do. Since I have alergies and asthma, I had a miserable night's sleep. The room was probably the smallest I have ever stayed in, including in Japan. Room 207 is like a closet. You can't stand in front of the mirror in the bathroom because the toilet is in the way. The shower doors didn't close all the way. The bed was not firm. If you don't mind these things and need to be near Porte de St. Cloud, then this hotel is at least clean with relatively good service. I wouldn't stay there again.
Nice building, extremely bad service

I have stayed at the Classics Hotel Tour Eiffel many times. Good location, internet works, newly remodeled. However, a pattern emerged. My last stay the cleaning crew sat right outside our two rooms and talked/smoked for hours in the middle of the night. We called the front desk requesting assistance and their solution was to close the "fire door" It stopped neither the billows of choking smoke nor the noise. When we left, the hotel billed us for a reservation that they stated they could not find when we checked in thus they created a new booking. I called numerous times to talk with the accountant at the hotel and was told repeatedly, they would call back. They never did. It took me 4 months to get the charges cleared from my bill.
Perfect Parisian boutique hotel!
from RhondaC.
Bonjour! First of all, let me say that we never once encountered a negative Parisian the entire time we were there! We attempted to speak French as much as possible, were extremely polite, and kept our voices low. I would recommend that to all tourists. Now, my husband and I and our daughter (15) and son (11) enjoyed our Spring Break (9 days) at this charming boutique hotel. The kind staff was always friendly and willing to help us with our dining and location inquiries. This hotel is located on a quiet street, yet has a bus stop within steps that will take you directly to the city center. The Metro underground is only 3 blocks and is the best way to get around, once you learn how it works. It became our main source of transportation, but we especially enjoyed the rides on buses #72 and #69. We bought the "Carte Orange" pass that allowed us unlimited rides on the buses and Metro for a week. The kids enjoyed the trip as much as we did! Yes, the rooms are small by American standards, but get over it- - it's Europe!! Everything was clean and tidy. We had one room with a double bed and one room with 2 twin beds. Both rooms had small corner closets, but we were prepared by bringing our own easy-to-pack wire hangars (from dry cleaners) and had plenty of space. There is a large shelf above the closet for jeans, sweaters, etc. A desk provided plenty of room to write and use my laptop (they offer a modem or WiFi connection for 17 Euros a day, so I connected in the evening and used it all the next day and night, too). Each room had a small TV with cable and a bathroom with a nice large tub with a strong hose sprayer and PLENTY of hot water. The breakfast included standard French fare including cheese, lunchmeat, cold cereal, yogurt, croissants, pain du chocolate, baguettes, various jams and honey, juice, cafe au lait, and fruit cocktail. For nearby meals and snacks I highly recommend Le Cardinal (excellent for dinner and dessert), the local patisserie just half a block down by the bus stop, and the Chinese take-out a half-block over. Stop by the market and wine shop for Coca-Cola (which we left outside our balcony since it was cool), bottled water, and wine. The hotel has plates and cutlery for your use. I recommend this hotel to all travelers who are willing to experience Paris on a personal level and who are not the sterio-typical loud and rude tourists that most of us are not. It just takes a few of those to ruin it for the rest of us! Merci!
TERRIBLE - Truly a difficult experience
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I flew to Paris for a long anticipated weekend. We were totally caught off guard by the terrible condition of our hotel room at the Classics Hotel Tour Eiffel! No hot water, no hanging closet - the breakfast was medicore. The front desk was totally no help when we voice our difficulties. Avoid this hotel, stay in the city and enjoy the sites - Paris is beautiful!
Awful!

I stayed in this hotel during a trip to Paris, The hotel room was a joke, small dirty with live wires hanging out of the wall. The woman who ran the kitchen was vulgar, the toilet was a joke! Please Please Please! use another hotel! Awful!
Not a lovely little Parisian Hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
I would like to document our experience at the Classics Hotel Tour Eiffel in hopes it will deter others from enduring the same misery. Our room, #402, was extremely small, roughly 10 x 12, with a closet built into the room (so even smaller than 10 x 12). We had two twin beds pushed together and a small table. There was no storage besides the closet which could accommodate 6 hanging items. As a result, we were hanging items on door knobs and lights. The bathroom was uncomfortably tiny, (when I say tiny I mean you could sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time.) had a broken shower door and water leaking from the ceiling. We had no hot water on one day of our stay and the desk staff appeared unconcerned upon all of our complaints. If you have visions of returning to a romantic relaxing Parisian hotel room after a long day at the Louvre, you will be extremely disappointed with the Classics Hotel Tour Eiffel.
Nice Place
from A TripAdvisor Member
I enjoyed staying at this reasonably priced, charming place. It's clean and the desk clerks do their best to help you find your way. . The rooms are small by American standards but you aren't there for the room. The rooms with larger beds have lovely large tubs with shower attachements so if you want to use a standup shower you might want to mention that when you book. The showers are extremely small but not impossible. The breakfast was good way to start the day. Standard French fare including cheese, lunchmeat, cold cereal, yogurt, croissents, pain du chocolate, baugettes, juice, cafe au lait, and fruit There are many cafes, markets, and even a McDonald's for those who aren't into french food within blocks of the place. It's charming neighborhood full of friendly folks. There's an Italian place Don Luigi's with good food but not such great service (if you attempt the speak French you will be treated so much better than those who don't even try). There is also a classic French cafe called the Poivre Rose which my friends had a great experience at. As mentioned in the first review this hotel is not centrally located to many of the things you might want to see but the Metro and the 72 bus stops a block from the hotel. I found it easy to get around but I am used to traveling and from a larger city. Sometimes I think it's easier, cheaper, and faster to do public transportation. Get a book of 10 tickets called a carnet, it's cheaper than individual tickets and they work on the bus. You could also buy a Paris Visite Pass from an Internet site or other vendor that you can use s for both the Metro and bus. The pass has some other discounts. After you get on the Metro, your stop is the Porte de Saint Cloud (I found it closer than Exelman), it took about ten minutes to get to the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. Twenty minutes to get to Montmatre and the Church of the Sacred Heart. All in all a great place to stay for an adventurous traveler who isn't afraid of staying a bit off the beaten path.
Nice Neighborhood Hotel
from Wanderer151
It is above average for the price - a nice 3 star, but it is rather far from the center of the city which may be one reason it is less expensive than others. The metro is a long 3 blocks away, but a bus runs right in front of the hotel to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and other attractions. The rooms have just been redone and are typically small, but warm and colorful. The staff is very helpful if not exactly friendly. It is located in a residential neighborhood, with plenty of cafes, food shops including bakeries and cheese shops, and even several laundries that were very convenient. It felt like we were staying in a real neighborhood, not a tourist area. For the price, a very good deal.

Paris is one of those cities that gets under your skin. Paris is the very essence of all things French. By other standards, Paris is small for a European capital city but this means that most of the main attractions are within walking distance of each other. Aside from the... more
