California Hotel

Stayed for seven nights this June. It was nice - not great, but nice. Our room had a very musty smell and only a double bed. My in-laws had a king and overall a larger room, so I think it just depends what room you get. The rack rates are too expensive for the quality - we booked for cheaper so it twas fine, but I would never pay over $250 a night for this place. Overall clean, and comfortable. Only half of a shower door so the bathroom gets wet and can be annoying. Great location, nice employees.

I stayed at the hotel with my family for easter. My sister and I had the bigger of the two rooms (think it was room 215) - a twin room with lots of space and a window onto the interior courtyard. there was some noise from the rooms around us but it was generally quiet. our parents had the smaller double room (think #225), and found their room was very quiet. The Hotel California is an excellent choice for a short break to Paris. It's ideal and also incredibly quiet location makes it very easy to get to from Charles de Gaulle Airport (take the Air France bus from outside Terminal 2 to the second stop "Charles de Gaulle Etoile" and Rue Berri is only 300 yards or so down the Champs Elysees on the left side as you walk down it). I was in Paris Sept 20-25, 2005 and stayed at the Hotel California. It was about a block and a half off the Champs Elysees' near George V metro stop and about 3 or 4 blocks from the Arc de Triomphe. It was a great location. The rooms were large (king size bed) and nicely appointed. The included breakfast buffet was excellent - included hot as well as cold foods. I would highly recommend this hotel. You also get frequent flyer miles with this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for our honeymoon. The Prestige Room was a great size (especially by Paris standards) with a large bathroom and bath. The decor of the hotel is beautiful with numerous paintings and artwork throughout the floors. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke good English. There are however 2 things I want to advise you to be careful about. We booked the room rate which did not breakfast. I stayed in this hotel in dec 1999. The room was very good and had a view to an inner garden. The breakfast was excellent. Many cheeses from all over France. Good choice.

Once you find this hotel off the Champs Elysees, and enter in, you will find the hotel to be charming and elegant. By American standards, I found our room to be a bit small, but we weren't in there long enough to find that too much of a nuisance. As we were only there a couple days, this was not a huge issue with us. The bathroom did not have a full door on the shower, and therefore water was everywhere afterwards, but this was just minor. The breakfast was phenomenal, and we found the service to be excellent.

We just spent two nights at the Hotel California in Paris, and were very happy with this hotel. The rooms were bright, cheery, very clean, bedding was clean, and the hotel had obviously been recently remodeled. We booked a quad room, which was two rooms adjoining with one bathroom, and this was ideal for our family of four. This isn't a "luxury" hotel (enough room but not huge, but nothing overseas is, one chair to sit on, but we spent little time in the hotel anyway) but was a good place to stay. We recently came back from Paris, France. We had stayed in the Hotel California for six days. It was simply a beautiful hotel with excellent services provided by extremely polite, cordial and helpful staff who were always ready to help you out. The location was simply great and quite close to most of all the great places of interest.

This hotel was conveniently located a couple blocks from the Arc and 2 blocks to the George V stop. The rooms were small but enough room for 2 people. The shower was a bit of a problem. The pressure was so high that all the water escaped the shower and landed on the bathroom floor. The hotel was quiet and service was good. The interenet was quite expensive. I suggest going to a cafe.
