Awesome hotel in safe area!
from A TripAdvisor Member
My mother and I stayed at the hotel BV during the first week of January, and it was great! An awesome location, close to all the sites. A quick walk to the subway, and great resturants around in the charming area of the hotel. Alot of the restaurants in the area had english translated menus. We arrived on the Eurostar and the quick journey from there to the hotel was easy. Much, much easier than the London tube. We arrived early (9am)and were able to go straight to our room, and on our last day, we left our luggage in reception while...

Great Small Hotel
from pollock47
We think the reviews posted are unfair. Maybe these people don't have much to compare. My 2 adult daughters & I stayed here (in one room) as part of a Go-Today package in March of 2003 and found the B.V. a little gem. Our room was small but not teeny with the single bed added to the double, and our bath was modern and fairly large. Both rooms had large french doors that overlooked the street & provided alot of natural light. The staff were polite (we speak no french) & the older gentleman was extremely helpful with neighborhood restaurant...

Better than expected
from A TripAdvisor Member
We got this hotel through GoToday as part of our package. Based on prior reviews, we had pretty low expectation but the hotel actually turned out ok. The room we got wasn't as tiny as some of the prior reviews suggested, and it was clean. Our bathroom looked like it was remodelled recently. While we were there (early June), the rooms didn't come with A/C. However, on the last day of our stay, we saw them installing A/C units. The neigborhood seems pretty safe in general (even at night) as compared to some other neighborhoods in Paris.
Good value

I hope that this hotel hasn't sunk as low as some of the previous reviews would have you believe. We stayed here in March 03 on a Go-Today trip. Yes, the room is tiny but adequate because you shouldn't spend much time there--you should be seeing the sights in Paris! It is somewhat hard to communicate with the staff, but we spoke some French and they were friendly and joked with us. The breakfast is continental--croissants, cereal and hot drink. The location is convenient to the Metro. Our best meal was up and across the street (I can't...

Not worth it
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel option came as part of a package we booked thru a different travel website. We arrived and were disappointed at the size of the room. The hotel had given us a single room when we had paid for and booked a double room. When we bought it to the attention of the receptionist, she said that the hotel was booked, therefore we were out the money we paid for the double room. Needless to say, we were not happy since the room was uncomfortable for two persons. The staff was not even helpful or remorsefull. The woman who cleaned our room...

Acceptable for a short stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel was booked through Go-Today and was supposed to be a $100 "upgrade" from the lowest class of hotel they offer. (I suggest thoroughly checking out what they have to offer before booking trips.) The Batignolles Villiers may at first glance sound like a cool Parisian hotel, but it is merely an ordinary, tiny room. There is barely any room for luggage---if you take off your shoes and coat you better leave them on the bed or you will be tripping over them to get to the bathroom, which literally is about 2.5 feet equidistant from the...

No Complaints
from lareu
just got back - booked the trip thru gotoday, this is their budget option - this hotel is certainly adequate for the budget traveler - staff speaks little English, a plus for us since we wanted to practice our French - room is smal, like most Paris budget hotels, but clean and functional - has minibar (didn't use) - we were on second floor, was relatively quiet - toilet was in a separate small room than the shower and sink - our room had a bathtub! - maid service was good - didn't try their breakfast, cost 6 euros - bus stop right out front...

It was okay!
from A TripAdvisor Member
when i arrived the person on the desk was not periculaly helpful but we carried on, we were in a bottom floor room and the noise was awful. we asked to be moved and were moved straight away to a higher, extremely quiet room which was brilliant, but the room was tiny! we had an almost single bed between 2 and no floor space. good points were the normally friendly service, low expense and cleanliness as the maids paid regular visits in the mornings and the room was spotless when we came back from sightseeing with fresh towels everyday....

Quaint Hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel was fine for a first time visit. It was inexpensive, clean, close to the Metro lines and had a bus stop right outside the front door. Although it was a little far from the main attractions of Paris, it gave us a feel that we enjoyed of the Parisian life. That is one reason we chose not to stay in an Americanized hotel. We used the bakery and the grocery store quite a bit that were close by. There were also quite a few restaurants and the Sunday market day was open about 2 blocks up. The management was nice, but not much...

Budget Hotel
from GlobalGirlyGirl
I've heard that most Parisian hotels are small, but I couldn't believe just *how* small this room (for two, double bed) was. I don't think it was larger than 80 sq. ft. We booked this hotel through gotoday. It was the cheapest option, and of course, it showed. It was definitely not the Ritz, but it wasn't a hooker hotel. Basic and budget. This hotel is in a residential area, but it's not too far on the Metro from the Madeleine/Champs Elysses area. The hotel owners were very friendly. Breakfast, although not like the...
