Balzac Hotel

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in mid September this year, the staff were courteous and helpfull, the room was excellent with a great view of the Eiffel Tower. Only 5 minute walk to the Arc de Triumph. We highly recommend the hotel

This Hotel was far better than we expected from any hotel in Paris. Our room was good size and clean, and we had an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower from our small balcony (room 511). The staff was very nice and the restaurants on the same block were great. It is very close to the Metro and several sites. I would absolutely stay here again.

We sayed at Hotel Balzac for 4 nights. It was great. The room was clean, big, and comfortable. We were only 10 sec. away from the main street. The breakfast was really good. If you are young and want to be in the middle of all the action, this is the place you want to stay.

I've stayed at Balzac from june 18 to june 25.The staff was very polite,helping you to solve problems.One person even speaks portuguese!!!!!!.But the best are the size of the rooms :more than 20 sq. meters!!!The breakfast too was very good,with orange pressee(freshsly squeezed orange juice).Congratulations to M.Pascal.

I was initially disappointed that the beautiful facade of the Balzac was hidden behind scaffolding as they were remodeling the hotel. The staff was exceedingly helpful with everything and very courteous. The rooms were average at best. The bed was low and mildly comfortable and there seemed to be a large stain on the carpet that hadn't been cleaned very well. The bathroom was very nice, done completely in marble with a big tub. Recently stayed at the Balzac in April and had a really nice stay. I was concerned about staying at this hotel because we were travelling with our 2-yr old son, but the staff were very friendly and accomodating of us. This hotel is in a very convenient location just one block off the Champs Elysees near the Arc de Triomphe. It is a walkable distance from many areas of interest in Paris. Ask for a superior/deluxe room facing the courtyard and you'll find yourself in one of the largest hotel rooms I've ever seen in Paris (including many of the 5 stars). The reasons to stay here are two-fold 1) Because you want to be a very short downhill block away from the Champs Elysees and B) because no matter how hard you try, you can't get used to the size of most Paris hotel rooms in the 300+ Euro range. A very nice hotel, but we lost items from our room during the day. The response from the reception desk was "we don't have things like that happen." Find another place to stay!

Very nice hotel in Paris. But unfortunately, the manager and staff need serious Customer Relationship Management training. Basically, we made the mistake of booking the trip through Expedia Special Rate, which does not allow for cancellations or changes within three days of the stay. We checked in for 5 days but had to drop to 4 days because of a change in our business trip plans. Expedia didnt of course give a refund for that day. We asked the hotel what they could do. The staff at Hotel Balzac were absolutely charming and couldn't be more helpful. I loved the winter garden where you ate breakfast and the delightful bar staff. The location is very central, however, the only downside is some of the rooms now look a little tired. I think Nina Campbell needs to pay another visit!
