Overbooked
Originally planned to stay at the Best Western Bergere but read the reviews and chose the Best Western Acadia instead. When we arrived they said they had a problem with one of the rooms, (I guess that they had overbooked), and had transferred us to a hotel around the corner which was run by the same proprietor. Turned out to be the Best Western Bergere. It was every bit as bad as the reviews said it was, and and the bathroom smelt damp and musty
OK
Three of us stayed here over a long weekend. On the down side, the television in one room wasn't tuned properly, probably because it was impossible to work out how. The other room had no shower curtain in the bathroom, and when the plughole in the sink broke, they just took it way. We decided against taking breakfast, given that it was 14 Euros. On the up side, it was clean, it was quiet enough, despite staying at street level, and the staff were very friendly and reasonably helpful. Not a bad hotel, but it doesn't stand out.
Yes, All the Reviews are Right
Returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel yesterday. I had booked my 3 night trip through expedia flying from Manchester on BA - all for £175 for single occupancy of a twin room. As a result, I had no great expectations of this hotel. However, I was very, very pleasently surprised when I entered the room [203]. Largeish room for Paris - real nice bathroom and two french windows with floor to ceiling curtains. Although on the street side - noise was minimal. Reception staff very pleasant and welcoming - I arrived at the hotel at 10.00... more
Couldn't have been more pleased
We were EXTREMELY pleased with the Best Western Acadia Opera especially considering the reasonable price. The street seemed very noisy when we entered so we asked for a quiet room. Our room was on the 4th floor -- quiet and LARGE. The higher floors jut out over the street more so I think they are larger. The soundproofing was excellent. The room was clean, bright and cheery, the beds firm, a large bathroom. With the refrigerator in the room and the supermarket across the street, we could have breakfasts in our room. (Our rate did not... more
Unusually good breakfast for Paris!
We used tripadvisor reviews when we selected the Hotel Acadia Opera, and were delighted with our luck! I note US customers have commented that the rooms are tiny; I guess it depends what you are used to, because we Brits found it perfect! After all, it's a base from which to explore one of the world's most beautiful cities, not a holiday destination per se. The rooms were cosy, clean and well-furnished, public areas were lovely, and above all, the staff were warm and welcoming (not words you always associate with Parisians). The biggst bonus... more
Tres bien!
Nice hotel for the price. Great breakfast selection. Nice friendly small team of staff. Clean rooms. Good location near Galleries Lafayette and Printemps. Highly recommended!
So so service
Not too bad a location, lotsa food shops around but the service wasnt fantastic. The cleaners didnt even empty the waste in the room daily.
worth the money
JUST RETURNED FROM PARIS. ACADIA OPERA IS A NICE HOTEL FOR THE PRICE. There are a lot of restraunts in the area and a grocery store across the street. The Louve is a 15 minute walk and the Opera a ten minute walk. Do not miss JULIANS a restraunt thats a 10 minute walk from the hotel. THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL! The hotel desk has a folder with restraunt menus and they can give you directions to restraunts in the area, they also made reservations for us. BRUSH UP ON YOUR FRENCH.
tiny but nice
The hotel is tiny and the rooms are really small, but it was very clean and the staff was very nice. They spoke English and were accomodating. It is however, on a less traveled street thus making it a little scary at night. The subway station at the end of the block is the hangout for young adults to drink and smoke and watch the people. Next time, I would stay closer to the city centre.
good value for the money
Appears as if this hotel was recently renovated because the rooms, lobby, and breakfast rooms were very nice and clean. Decent value for the money conscious traveler. Convenient mini-mart and laundry place on the same small block, across the street. Lots of night life around the hotel. Easy 2 blocks to nearest metro station. The staff for the most part was very friendly and helpfull. AC was working in my room but seemed not very powerful. The bathrooms were adequate and rooms have a mini-bar. Overall, pleasant stay and would recommend this... more
