Nice hotel and very clean. The Ambassador has to be one of the best locations in Prague, and only a couple of minutes takes you into the heart of the old town. Staff were courteous (but don't smile a lot.
That happens all over the city, don't take it personally) Tremendous selection at the breakfast buffet. The restaurant and bar were a little on the pricey side but that was to be expected. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. We had a standard double room which was almost like a suite, but our friends had an executive room but it was much smaller than ours! Still can't figure that one out.
Overall we had a great time and would definitely return to the Ambassador.

Never having been to Prague before I was apprehensive on what to find. We stayed in the Hotel Ambassador which is conveniently situated right in the middle of the town. The hotel is a rated as 5 star, though I would suggest that it is more like 4. The rooms are spacious and clean and there is the bonus of having a Jacuzzi bath for each room (word of warning make sure that you have adjusted the nozzles to point downwards before getting into it!).
Breakfast is up until 11AM and there is a large selection to choose from. Whether your preference is fruit and yoghurt or bread or cooked it is there in a bright airy dinning room.
The staff at the hotel have a very good command of English and they are very helpful.
I would suggest that if you decide to book a taxi to take you back to the airport, that you arrange this either before you go or arrange with the company which takes you as the return price from the hotel is slightly higher and unless you stipulate which terminal you need to fly from you may find that you have a long walk to check in.
Prague is a beautiful city. Flat shoes are a must as the cobbles take their toll on your feet by the end of the day. One of the advantages of the Ambassador is that there is a Thai and Wellness centre adjacent to the hotel and for around £30 you can book a full body massage, the staff here are very friendly and professional.
Despite being advertised as having a club and casino attached to the hotel you are not disturbed by noise. Prague is designed for Stag Weekends and yes there are large groups which gather in the squares, but unlike other English cities there is no problem with walking around in the evening.
Having traveled at the beginning of March, the weather is changeable and I would advise that one takes some suitable warm outer wear as when it gets cold it is very cold.
The recommendations for things to see, is try to see as much as you can. We spent 4 days in the city and found that we have missed some sites, this is however good as we know that we will be able to return at some point.
I would recommend that if you can you find time to visit the museum of torture, situated close to Charles bridge, it a 4 floor building of the most bizarre instruments! Of course there are many interesting sites, and The Jewish quarter is well worth the walk and the queue, you will be left speechless at the way people were treated in the past, this left me questioning the way some are treated today.
Any part of Prague is a photographers delight a myriad of beautiful buildings. Eating out is reasonably priced and there are a large choice of restaurants ranging from Czech to Italian and with a full range of prices. The people of Prague are helpful and courteous despite some reviews which I have read to the contrary.
Of course there is also the shopping. Now depending on what you want, there are plenty of shops, most of which stay open into the evening; they range from the souvenir shops selling the usual tat, to glass and jewellery. You will find a range of shops which are here in England and the prices are pretty much the same as they are here.
Look out for the markets as they seem to have a wider range of items, some of which are hand made and reasonably priced. Situated in Wenslas Square the Ambassador is a good base in which to explore a wonderful city, and I cannot wait for an opportunity to return.
